As information acquisition terminals for artificial olfaction,chemiresistive gas sensors are often troubled by their cross-sensitivity,and reducing their cross-response to ambient gases has always been a difficult and important point in the gas sensing *** recognition based on sensor array is the most conspicuous way to overcome the cross-sensitivity of gas *** is crucial to choose an appropriate pattern recognition method for enhancing data analysis,reducing errors and improving system reliability,obtaining better classification or gas concentration prediction *** this review,we analyze the sensing mechanism of crosssensitivity for chemiresistive gas *** further examine the types,working principles,characteristics,and applicable gas detection range of pattern recognition algorithms utilized in gas-sensing ***,we report,summarize,and evaluate the outstanding and novel advancements in pattern recognition methods for gas *** the same time,this work showcases the recent advancements in utilizing these methods for gas identification,particularly within three crucial domains:ensuring food safety,monitoring the environment,and aiding in medical *** conclusion,this study anticipates future research prospects by considering the existing landscape and *** is hoped that this work will make a positive contribution towards mitigating cross-sensitivity in gas-sensitive devices and offer valuable insights for algorithm selection in gas recognition applications.

Based on mechanism research of dynamic coupling and inertial coupling of flying wing UAV at high attack angle or stall maneuver flight, a decoupling compensator is designed to realize the longitude and lateral channels, the aileron and the rudder channel. The maneuver control law is designed based on the robust servo method, which solves the problem of rapid maneuvering of the flying wing. The maneuvering boundary protection controller effectively reduces the risk of boundary during the maneuver flying. At last, the flying tests verified the engineering feasibility of decoupling controller and robust maneuvering controller. © 2022, The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, a flexible waveguide structure in terahertz (THz) band is designed and optimized which selects the porous polymer fiber as the core of the structure. The simulation results show that the structure can achieve insertion loss of 0.08dB/cm and flat dispersion coefficient of about 1.5ps/(GHz·m) in the range from 195 to 225GHz. In addition, the insertion loss of the structure with the bending radius of 31mm is also calculated and the results show that: the performance of the designed THz flexible waveguide structure has a little change with the bending radius, which will be well applied in THz communication system. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, we present a maneuver motion planning method based on virtual target for UAVs. This method is inspired by the navigation and control method of missiles. In order to adapt this method on UAVs, dynamic constraints of fixed-wing vehicle are full considered in design of the algorithm. The algorithm is flexible and works in real time, it demonstrates good performance in threat circumvent and autonomous attacking. These advantages make it possible in engineering applications. This paper aims to analyze and design a novel variable impedance permanent magnet (PM) machine with separated fault tolerant ring for high reliability applications. The proposed topology automatically changes from low impedance to ultra-high impedance under turn-to-turn short-circuit without complex fault diagnosis and control strategies. First, the topology of the variable impedance PM machine is introduced. Then, the magnetic field distribution of the separate fault tolerant ring under health and fault is analyzed to qualitatively reveal the fault tolerance principle. Finally, a turn-to-turn short-circuit model considering the core saturation effect is developed for investigating the mechanism of fault tolerance performance improvement. It is found that the short-circuit current and torque ripple after the fault of the variable impedance machines are significantly lower than those of the conventional ones. © 2023 IEEE.

Biochar, a soil conditioner containing significant amounts of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), has gained widespread popularity in agricultural practices due to its advantages in improving soil fertility and carbon sequestration. While biochar may increase soil black carbon (BC) and PAH contents, the quantitative accumulation of BC and PAHs in different soil environments under varying biochar addition dosages remains poorly understood. Here, we investigated the content and composition of black carbon (evaluated using benzene polycarboxylic acids, BPCAs) and PAHs in soils treated with different biochar addition dosages from two long-term experimental farmlands in Ningxia (5-year) and Shandong (7- and 11-year), China. Results showed that increasing cumulative biochar dosage caused elevated contents of black carbon and PAHs, accompanied by decreases in their retention efficiencies. Contrasting retention was observed between sites, with the Shandong site characterized by higher retention efficiencies of BPCAs and lower retention efficiencies of PAHs, possibly owing to its higher temperature, more sandy soil texture, less irrigation, and lower sunlight intensity. Despite both black carbon and PAHs originating from biochar and sharing similar condensed aromatic structures, there was no significant correlation between the contents of black carbon and PAHs, indicating distinct behaviors and fates of these compounds. These findings emphasize the importance of optimizing biochar addition dosages and considering site-specific environmental factors for effective soil black carbon sequestration through biochar application. Laser Additive Manufacturing (LAM) uses laser as an energy source to enable additive manufacturing of materials，which is not limited by the structure of parts and can be used for complex structures, processing, and manufacturing of difficult and thin-walled parts while realizing the manufacture of complex metals. However, some machining defects occurs in the process of LAM would affect the quality of the parts. Thus, accurate detection and feature extraction of the defect location has become an important issue. This paper proposed a hybrid polarization image fusion method for accurate defect detection. This paper is mainly through the convolutional neural network based on the Laplace pyramid and wavelet transform. The experimental results presented that the information entropy of the proposed algorithm is higher than that of the traditional method by 30.5%, the standard deviation is increased by nearly 1 time, and the intersection of the intensity image and polarization feature is realized efficiently. Furthermore, mutual fusion can greatly improve the accuracy and integrity of the target defect detection results, and the similarity reached 80%. © 2024 SPIE.

Upper crustal azimuthal anisotropy and seismogenic tectonics of the Hefei segment of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone from ambient noise tomography

The Tan-Lu Fault Zone is a large NNE-trending fault zone that has a substantial effect on the development of eastern China and its earthquake disaster prevention efforts. Aiming at the azimuthally anisotropic structure in the upper crust and seismogenic tectonics in the Hefei segment of this fault, we collected phase velocity dispersion data of fundamental mode Rayleigh waves from ambient noise cross-correlation functions of ~400 temporal seismographs in an area of approximately 80 × 70 km along the fault zone. The period band of the dispersion data was ~0.5–10 s. We inverted for the upper crustal three-dimensional(3-D) shear velocity model with azimuthal anisotropy from the surface to 10 km depth by using a 3-D direct azimuthal anisotropy inversion method. The inversion result shows the spatial distribution characteristics of the tectonic units in the upper crust. Additionally, the deformation of the Tan-Lu Fault Zone and its conjugated fault systems could be inferred from the anisotropy model. In particular, the faults that have remained active from the early and middle Pleistocene control the anisotropic characteristics of the upper crustal structure in this area. The direction of fast axes near the fault zone area in the upper crust is consistent with the strike of the faults, whereas for the region far away from the fault zone, the direction of fast axes is consistent with the direction of the regional principal stress caused by plate movement. Combined with the azimuthal anisotropy models in the deep crust and uppermost mantle from the surface wave and Pn wave, the different anisotropic patterns caused by the Tan-Lu Fault Zone and its conjugated fault system nearby are shown in the upper and lower crust. Furthermore,by using the double-difference method, we relocated the Lujiang earthquake series, which contained 32 earthquakes with a depth shallower than 10 km. Brown rice(BR)is a traditional health food being rich in various active substances, which have effective preventive and therapeutic effects on many diseases. In this review, we systemically summarized the efficacy of BR on cardiovascular diseases(CVDs), hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, immune disorders, inflammation, anxiety, liver and stomach damage, etc. Underlying mechanisms have also been analyzed, which include regulating lipid synthesis and metabolism, improving insulin levels and increasing glucose metabolism, anti-oxidation, promoting the immune system, transcription and non-transcriptional regulation, blocking cell cycle, thereby improving disease symptoms and reducing its recurrence rate. Generally, BR has been almost disappeared in modern society, but it is promising to exploit the potential to become a functional food. Further research on the nutritional value, variety differences, storage problems, taste and molecular mechanism of BR will be conducive to help meticulously design clinical intervention trials and ultimately improve the treatment and prevention of various diseases.
