Quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) insulators exhibit chiral edge channels characterized by vanishing longitudinal conductance and quantized Hall conductance of Ce2/h, wherein the Chern number C is an integer equal to the number of the parallel chiral edge channels. These chiral edge channels conduct dissipationless transport in QAH insulators, making them pivotal for applications in low-consumption electronics and topological quantum computing. While the QAH effect with multiple chiral edge channels (i.e., C >1) has been demonstrated in multilayers consisting of magnetic topological insulators and normal insulators, the channel number remains fixed for a given sample. Here, we unveil the tunability of the number of chiral edge channels within a single QAH insulator device. By tuning the magnetization of individual layers within the multilayer system, Chern insulating states with different Chern numbers are unveiled. The tunable Chern number was corroborated by our theoretical calculations. Furthermore, we conducted layer-dependent calculations to elucidate the contribution of the Chern number from different layers in the multilayer. Our findings demonstrate an extra degree of freedom in manipulating the chiral edge channels in QAH insulators. Preliminary research on the irradiation-thermal-mechanical coupling behavior simulation method of FCM fuel

FCM fuel (fully ceramic micro-encapsulated fuel) which is a promising ATF (accident tolerant fuel) candidate fuel. Establishing the irradiation-thermal-mechanical coupling behavior simulation method of FCM fuel accurately, would be very helpful for the optimal design of FCM fuel. In this research, TRSIO particles were assumed to be uniformly distributed in the silicon carbide (SiC) matrix, and the corresponding representative volume element (RVE) models were established. Based on ABAQUS commercial software, the thermal effects and irradiation effects of FCM fuel were all introduced into this numerical simulation by coding the UMAT subroutine, and then the irradiation - thermal - mechanical coupling behavior simulation method of FCM fuel was preliminary established. Compared with the simulation result of BISON software in open literature, the simulation results of this numerical simulation method are basically consistent with those of BISON software, the effectiveness of this numerical simulation method was preliminary verified. © 2019 Xi'an Jiaotong University

Influence of vibration on mechanical polishing micro-structured surface using discrete element method

A model using discrete element method (DEM) was conducted to simulate vibration assisted mechanical polishing micro-structured surface process by particle flow code in three dimensions (PFC3D). The effect laws of vibration frequency and amplitude on abrasive grains and polishing force were researched in detail according to the simulation results. The effects of vibration on the particles average motion velocity in one fluid cell were researched, and the simulation results show that average velocity increases with increase of vibration frequency and amplitude on the whole. The effects of vibration on the unbalanced force acting on the workpiece surface were quantified at first. The changes of average unbalanced force obviously increase for low feed rate with increase of frequency and increase approximately linearly with increase of amplitude. It is concluded that vibration with high frequency and great amplitude can significantly increase machining efficiency and improve surface quality in micro-structured surface polishing. Cyber security event is one of the main concerns in instrumentation and control system of nuclear power plant, since the application and popularity of digital technology in industrial control area. To ensure the cyber security of safety DCS control system of nuclear power plant, this paper analyzes the security risks and vulnerabilities of field control systems, and proposes the cyber security plan for safety DCS platform. Combining with the point-to-point data flow model and the R&D of safety DCS platform, we depict the application of cyber security strategy in the product design stage. © 2018-2019 by JSME

Integrated sensing and communications is regarded as a key enabling technology in the sixth generation networks, where a unified waveform, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal, is adopted to facilitate both sensing and communications (S&C). However, the random communication data embedded in the OFDM signal results in severe variability in the sidelobes of its ambiguity function (AF), which leads to missed detection of weak targets and false detection of ghost targets, thereby impairing the sensing performance. Therefore, balancing between preserving communication capability (i.e., the randomness) while improving sensing performance remains a challenging task. To cope with this issue, we characterize the random AF of OFDM communication signals, and demonstrate that the AF variance is determined by the fourth-moment of the constellation amplitudes. Subsequently, we propose an optimal probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) approach by maximizing the achievable information rate (AIR) under the fourth-moment, power and probability constraints, where the optimal input distribution may be numerically specified through a modified Blahut-Arimoto algorithm. To reduce the computational overheads, we further propose a heuristic PCS approach by actively controlling the value of the fourth-moment, without involving the communication metric in the optimization model, despite that the AIR is passively scaled with the variation of the input distribution. Numerical results show that both approaches strike a scalable performance tradeoff between S&C, where the superiority of the PCS-enabled constellations over conventional uniform constellations is also verified. Notably, the heuristic approach achieves very close performance to the optimal counterpart, at a much lower computational complexity. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The emerging time-sensitive applications, such as industrial automation, smart grids, and telesurgery, pose strong demands for enabling large-scale IP-based deterministic networks. The IETF DetNet working group recently proposes a Cycle Specified Queuing and Forwarding (CSQF) solution. However, CSQF only specifies an underlying device-level primitive while how to achieve network-wide flow scheduling remains undefined. Previous scheduling mechanisms are mostly oriented to the context of local area networks, making them inapplicable to the cyclic traffic in wide area networks. In this paper, we design the Cycle Tags Planning (CTP) mechanism, a first mathematical model to enable network-wide scheduling for cyclic traffic in large-scale deterministic networks. Then, a novel scheduling algorithm named flow offset and cycle shift (FO-CS) is designed to compute the flows' cycle tags. The FO-CS algorithm is evaluated under long-distance network topologies in remote industrial control scenarios. Compared with the Naive algorithm without using FO-CS, simulation results demonstrate that FO-CS improves the scheduling flow number by 31.2% in few seconds.

Metal phthalocyanine is considered one of the most promising candidates for the design and fabrication of flexible resistive random access memory(RRAM)devices due to its intrinsic flexibility and excellent ***,performance degradation and the lack of multi-level capability,which can directly expand the storage capacity in one memory cell without sacrificing additional layout area,are the primary obstacles to the use of metal phthalocyanine RRAMs in information ***,a flexible RRAM with pristine nickel phthalocyanine(Ni Pc)as the resistive layer is reported for multi-level data *** to its high trap-concentration,the charge transport behavior of the device agrees well with classical space charge limited conduction controlled by traps,leading to an excellent performance,including a high on-off current ratio of 10^(7),a long-term retention of 10^(6)s,a reproducible endurance over6000 cycles,long-term flexibility at a bending strain of 0.6%,a write speed of 50 ns under sequential bias pulses and the capability of multi-level data storage with reliable retention and uniformity.

FeSe is regarded as a strong correlation system of simple structure and remarkable tunability in the superconducting transition temperature (Tc). Particularly, the substitution of Se with its isoelectronic Te leads to a dome-shaped Tc evolution, positioning the FeSe1-xTex as an ideal platform for exploring the mechanism of iron-based superconductivity. In this study, we employed high-throughput combinatorial molecular beam epitaxy (CLMBE) to fabricate high-quality FeSe1-xTex film with horizontal gradient. The dielectric spectra of FeSe1-xTex were obtained by ellipsometry spectroscopy (SE). We utilized the standard critical point model and first-principles calculation to identify that the observed interband transitions are predominantly sourced from Fe-3d near the Fermi surface. The pseudogap, extracted from the transitions, shows a bowl-like trend as increased Te, which is negatively correlated with Tc, suggesting a qualitative way to predict Tc in the normal-state. The composition-dependent charge dynamics response, derived from Drude oscillators in SE, indicates that electron-electron interactions might play a more substantial role in FeSe1-xTex superconductivity, combined with the unidirectional electron-phonon coupling result in Raman. The variation of plasma frequency and photoinduced carrier dispersion under composition modulation demonstrates the effect of Te in enhancing system interactions, providing valuable support for the design of superconducting optoelectronic devices. © 2024, The Authors. Due to the merits of high flow rate and high lift, double-suction centrifugal pumps are widely used for agricultural irrigation along the Yellow River in northern China. The operational conditions of the pump are highly related to the silt concentration and flow rates. Therefore, it is crucial to identify the vibration characteristics corresponding to different silt concentrations and flow rates to provide a prior guideline for pump condition monitoring. To this end, this paper explores the identification capabilities of typical intelligent models, including convolutional neural network (CNN), deep neural network (DNN), and support vector machine (SVM), to intelligently establish the connection between vibration characteristics and different flow rates and silt concentrations. Experimental studies on a double-section pump covering a range of flow rates and different silt concentrations are conducted. The results show that CNN features higher identification accuracy than DNN and SVM. © 2021 IEEE.

A two-degree-of-freedom nonlinear mechanical system describing a damped linear oscillator weakly coupled to a lightweight grounded bistable nonlinear energy sink is proposed to investigate the targeted energy transfer (TET) under asymmetric local nonlinear potentials. The Bogdanov-Takens bifurcations of equilibria are discussed to reflect the bistable and asymmetric characteristics of the system. Through projections of isoenergetic manifolds, the topological features of the Hamiltonian dynamics under $1:1$ internal resonance have been investigated, which induces conditions for energy localization and exchange. In the general case, the topological features of the Hamiltonian dynamics related to the nonlinear normal modes (NNMs) are classified by the Poincare map, the relations between the NNMs and the Hamiltonian dynamics have been interpreted through the frequency energy plots. The results show that introducing the asymmetric characteristics may enhance the TET and realize the complete TET. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
