We integrate the advantages of optical packet switching (OPS) network and fibre channel (FC) technology, and put forward fibre channel transportation based on optical packet switching network (FC over OPS) as a solution for next generation avionics systems internetworking. We focus our research work on the interrelation between data segments aggregation and network real-timing performance. By simulation, we analyze the impact that bandwidth, minimum efficiency threshold and timing contribute to the network real-timing. Furthermore, we complete hardware prototype design and simulation, compare the results between software and hardware simulation and analyze the performance of this algorithm.

The automatic installation of panels has become crucial in numerous industries scenarios. This paper proposed a trajectory planning method to addresses the position and posture adjustment of panel installation using redundant articulating cranes. Configuration space of the crane and rotation matrix are combined to investigate the strong coupling of the panel's position and posture. Moreover, the study combines the motion modes of the crane with the sequential analysis of redundant motion to assess energy consumption, incorporating energy efficiency as one of the planning objectives. Simultaneously, an intrinsic connection between the motion sequences within the C-space and safety considerations is analyzed. The installation experiment is performed with a real crane. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method achieves the function of installation of panels, which can make both the panel’s position and posture safely reach the predetermined state with less energy consume. © 2024, The Authors. As an important part of the beyond fifth generation (B5G) and sixth generation (6G) network, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communication has been widely used in various application scenarios. The measurement and analysis of UAV air-to-ground (A2G) channel characteristics is vital to the design of future UAV communication systems. In this paper, we introduce a channel sounder that supports real-time measurements but has smaller data storage sizes. The developed channel sounder is used to carry out channel measurement campaigns in two typical rural scenarios, i.e., farmland and river. Based on the measurement data, some key channel characteristics, including multipath components (MPCs) and path loss (PL), are analyzed and compared. The results can provide a valuable reference for UAV channel modeling and UAV communication system design in rural areas.

Chern Number Tunable Quantum Anomalous Hall Effect in Compensated Antiferromagnets

We propose to realize the quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) in two-dimensional compensated antiferromagnets without net spin magnetization. We consider antiferromagnetic MnBi2Te4 as a concrete example. By breaking the parity-time (PT) symmetry of even-layer MnBi2Te4, we find that the system can host the QAHE with a nonzero Chern number. We show that by controlling the antiferromagnetic spin configuration, for example, down/up/up/down that breaks PT symmetry, tetralayer MnBi2Te4 can host a Chern number C = −1. Such spin configuration can be stabilized by pinning the spin orientations of the surfaces. Furthermore, via tuning the on-site orbital energy and vertical electric fields, we find rich QAHE phases with tunable Chern number of |C| = 1, 2, 3. In addition, we reveal that the edge states are layer-selective and primarily locate at the boundaries of the bottom and top layers. Our work not only proposes a scheme to realize Chern number tunable QAHE in antiferromagnets without net spin magnetization, but also provides a platform for layer-selective dissipationless transport devices. Federated learning (FL) framework enables user devices collaboratively train a global model based on their local datasets without privacy leak. However, the training performance of FL is degraded when the data distributions of different devices are incongruent. Fueled by this issue, we consider a clustered FL (CFL) method where the devices are divided into several clusters according to their data distributions and are trained simultaneously. Convergence analysis is conducted, which shows that the clustered model performance depends on cosine similarity, device number per cluster, and device participation probability. Then, aiming at optimizing the model training performance, a joint problem of resource allocation and device clustering is formulated, which is solved by decoupling it into two sub-problems. Specifically, a coalition formation algorithm is proposed for the device clustering sub-problem, and the sub-problem of bandwidth allocation and transmit power control is solved directly due to its convexity. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted on the MNIST dataset to validate the performance of the proposed algorithm in terms of test accuracy.

Zero-bias conductance peaks (ZBCPs) can manifest a number of notable physical phenomena and thus provide critical characteristics to the underlying electronic systems. Here, we report observations of pronounced ZBCPs in hybrid junctions composed of an oxide heterostructure LaAlO3/SrTiO3 and an elemental superconductor Nb, where the two-dimensional electron system (2DES) at the LaAlO3/SrTiO3 interface is known to accommodate gate-tunable Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC). Remarkably, the ZBCPs exhibit a domelike dependence on the gate voltage, which correlates strongly with the nonmonotonic gate dependence of the Rashba SOC in the 2DES. The origin of the observed ZBCPs can be attributed to the reflectionless tunneling effect of electrons that undergo phase-coherent multiple Andreev reflection, and their gate dependence can be explained by the enhanced quantum coherence time of electrons in the 2DES with increased momentum separation due to SOC. We further demonstrate theoretically that, in the presence of a substantial proximity effect, the Rashba SOC can directly enhance the overall Andreev conductance in the 2DES-barrier-superconductor junctions. These findings not only highlight nontrivial interplay between electron spin and superconductivity revealed by ZBCPs, but also set forward the study of superconducting hybrid structures by means of controllable SOC, which has significant implications in various research fronts from superconducting spintronics to topological superconductivity.

Effects of Geometric Parameters on Performance of Rectangular Submerged Inlet for Aircraft

To improve the comfortability and safety of aircraft,the demand of rectangular submerged inlets(RSIs)with low resistance is proposed to increase the inlet flow rate of ram air. A theoretical model is built to numerically analyze the effects of geometric parameters on the inlet mass flow rate of RSIs. The geometric parameters in question here encompass the aspect ratio of 2—4,the ramp angle of 6°—7°,the characteristic parameter of the throat of 0.20 —0.30,the ramp length of 939—1 337 mm,and the cone angle of 0° —3°. Simulation results demonstrate that the mass flow rate(MFR)is positively correlated with the aspect ratio,ramp angle,ramp length,and cone angle,and negatively correlated with characteristic parameter of the throat. Within the range of the geometric parameters considered,the RSI with the aspect ratio of 3,the ramp angle of 6°,the characteristic parameter of the throat of 0.20,the ramp length of 1 337 mm,and the cone angle of 3° obtains the largest MFR value of about 2.251 kg/s.

The arch is an important component of a biomass boiler. Initial arch design of most boilers is generally gained through manual computation, thus resulting in uncertain reasonability of flue gas flow. Moreover, biomass fuels in the market have instable characteristics, which influence the utilization of biomass energies considerably. To address the problems concerning reasonable flue gas flow caused by the collaborative design of arch and air staging and the combustion adaptability of fuels, a cold modeling experiment of a 1 t/h biomass boiler under different staged air distribution ratios when the rear arch coverage varies was conducted using Fluent software in this study after thermal performance computation and initial structural design of grate and furnace. Furthermore, a boiler performance test based on main fuels and a combustion adaptation test of auxiliary fuels were also performed. The experiments show that the best flue gas flow in the furnace is achieved when the rear arch coverage is 60% and the primary–secondary air distribution ratio is 4:6. The mean boiler efficiency and the mean boiler heat output are 81.26% and 715.76 kW/h by using Pinus koraiensis pellets, wood–straw mixed pellets, and cotton straw briquettes as main fuels;and the tested pollutant emissions are in compliance with the limits of the national standard. The results of the combustion adaptation test reveal that the excessive particle size, the high ash content and the relatively low calorific value of biomass molded fuels are all against the combustion of biomass boilers. Fuel upgrading based on washing process and other methods is suggested. This study can provide references to the performance optimization of traditional small-scale biomass chain heating boilers. © 2020 All Rights Reserved

Evolutionary multitasking algorithms use information exchange among individuals in a population to solve multiple optimization problems simultaneously. Negative transfer is a critical factor that affects the performance of evolutionary multitasking algorithms. In this study, we propose an innovative approach to mitigate negative transfer in evolutionary multitasking algorithms. The proposed approach is grounded in rigorous theoretical analysis, which provides valuable theoretical insights into the design of an optimal linear crossover operator for mitigating negative transfer. By identifying interpretable conditions, we establish a solid theoretical foundation to prevent negative transfer in diverse scenarios. Building upon these findings, we theoretically derive a closed-form expression for the optimal crossover operator and propose practical design methods based on approximations. Furthermore, we integrate the proposed optimal crossover operator into a fundamental evolutionary multitasking algorithm framework. The resultant algorithm is comparable or superior to other state-of-the-art methods. Empirical validation through comprehensive experiments confirms the effectiveness of our theoretical findings. © 1997-2012 IEEE.
