In this paper, we develop a graph neural network (GNN)-assisted bilinear inference approach to enhance the receiver performance of the MIMO system through message passing-based joint channel estimation and data detection (JCD). Specifically, based on the bilinear generalized approximate message passing (BiG-AMP) framework and conditional correlation of signal, we propose a GNN-assisted BiG-AMP (GNN-BiGAMP) approach, which integrates a GNN module into the data-detection-loop to compensate the inaccurate marginal likelihood approximation. By leveraging the coupling between the channel and received symbols, a bilinear GNN-assisted BiG-AMP (BiGNN-BiGAMP) JCD receiver is further proposed. This method incorporates two GNNs with similar graph representation into the bilinear posterior estimation loops, which not only compensates for approximation errors but also alleviates performance loss due to premature variance convergence, thereby enhancing the receiver performance significantly. To fully exploit the supervised information from channel estimation and data detection, we propose a multitask learning based training scheme, which coordinates GNNs with different tasks in two loops. Simulation results show that our proposed GNN-assisted JCD receivers significantly outperform other JCD counterparts in terms of both channel estimation and data detection. © 2025 IEEE. Intrinsic peroxidase-like activity of carbon-coated nano zero-valent iron drives hydroxyl radical-mediated pollutant degradation: Interfacial processes and radical contributions

Carbon-coated nano-scale zero-valent iron (nZVI@C) has gained attention as an efficient and cost-effective catalyst for degrading organic pollutants through persulfate (PS) activation. While previous studies have largely focused on surface Fe2+-driven Fenon-like reactions as the primary mechanism, the role of interfacial processes and internal atomic changes in catalytic mechanisms remains underexplored. Here we show that the nZVI@C and PS system significantly enhances the degradation of 1,2-dichlorobenzene (1,2-DCB), achieving a 52 % removal efficiency within 2 h and stabilizing at approximately 96 % after 48 h. This exceptional catalytic efficiency is attributed to the intrinsic peroxidase (POD)-like activity of nZVI@C, which facilitates the generation of highly reactive oxidants. Among these, hydroxyl radicals (HO•) are found to dominate the degradation process (∼60 %), beyond the contribution of sulfate radicals (∼17 %). Synchrotron radiation and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses reveal that the carbon coating shields the Fe0 core from rapid oxidation, resulting in the oxidation of interior Fe0 to Fe3+ and ensuring sustained catalytic performance. Moreover, surface oxygen vacancies, rather than surface Fe2+, are identified as the primary drivers of the POD-like activity, regulating HO• generation through a molecular between oxygen vacancies and lattice oxygen within the surface layer (∼2–10 nm). These findings offer valuable molecular-level insights into the catalytic mechanisms and the design of advanced carbon-coated catalysts for environmental remediation. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has been considered a key feature of next-generation wireless networks. This paper investigates the joint design of the radar receive filter and dual-functional transmit waveform for the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) ISAC system. While optimizing the mean square error (MSE) of the radar receive spatial response and maximizing the achievable rate at the communication receiver, besides the constraints of full-power radar receiving filter and unimodular transmit sequence, we control the maximum range sidelobe level, which is often overlooked in existing ISAC waveform design literature, for better radar imaging performance. To solve the formulated optimization problem with convex and nonconvex constraints, we propose an inexact augmented Lagrangian method (ALM) algorithm. For each subproblem in the proposed inexact ALM algorithm, we custom-design a block successive upper-bound minimization (BSUM) scheme with closed-form solutions for all blocks of variable to enhance the computational efficiency. Convergence analysis shows that the proposed algorithm is guaranteed to provide a stationary and feasible solution. Extensive simulations are performed to investigate the impact of different system parameters on communication and radar imaging performance. Comparison with the existing works shows the superiority of the proposed algorithm. © 2025, CC BY-NC-SA.

Chern Number Tunable Quantum Anomalous Hall Effect in Compensated Antiferromagnets

We propose to realize the quantum anomalous Hall effect (QAHE) in two-dimensional compensated antiferromagnets without net spin magnetization. We consider antiferromagnetic MnBi2Te4 as a concrete example. By breaking the parity-time (PT) symmetry of even-layer MnBi2Te4, we find that the system can host the QAHE with a nonzero Chern number. We show that by controlling the antiferromagnetic spin configuration—for example, down/up/up/down that breaks PT symmetry—tetralayer MnBi2Te4 can host a Chern number |C|=1. Such spin configuration can be stabilized by pinning the spin orientations of the surfaces. Furthermore, via tuning the on-site orbital energy and vertical electric fields, we find rich QAHE phases with tunable Chern number of |C|=1,2,3. In addition, we reveal that the edge states are layer selective and primarily located at the boundaries of the bottom and top layers. Our Letter not only proposes a scheme to realize Chern number tunable QAHE in antiferromagnets without net spin magnetization but also provides a platform for layer-selective dissipationless transport devices.

Multiplexed model predictive attitude control for nadir-pointing satellite using only magnetorquers

Due to the low failure risk of magnetorquers, the control strategy based on magnetic actuators can significantly enhance the reliability of the satellite attitude control system. In light of this advantage, this paper conducts research on model predictive control (MPC) algorithm for nadir-pointing satellites equipped only with magnetorquers. Firstly, to facilitate controller design, the linear time-varying (LTV) model for nadir-pointing satellites is derived by linearizing the nonlinear equations around the operating point. Then, leveraging this linearized representation, an LTV multiplexed MPC (MMPC) method with exponential weighting is proposed. The MMPC scheme allows for faster sampling rates and quicker responses to disturbances, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the satellite attitude control system while retaining the benefits of MPC. Finally, compared with a state-of-the-art SMPC method, the proposed method is particularly advantageous in situations where computational resources are limited, specifically for satellites that rely only on onboard computing capabilities. © 2025

Multimodal ultrasonic vibration(UV)assisted micro-forming has been widely investigated for its advan-tages of further reducing forming loads and improving forming ***,the influence mecha-nism of different UV modes on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties was still ***-timodal UV assisted micro-compression tests on T2 copper with different grains and sample sizes were conducted in this *** microstructure evolution for different UV modes was observed by *** results showed that the true stress reduction caused by UV was increased sequentially with tool ultrasonic vibration(TV),mold ultrasonic vibration(MV)and compound ultrasonic vibration(CV).The region of grain deformation was shifted along the direction of UV,and the MV promoted the uniform distribution of deformation *** grain refinement,fiber streamline density,grain deformation and rotation degree were further enhanced under CV,due to the synergistic effect of TV and ***,a coupled theoretical model considering both acoustic softening effect and size effect was proposed for describing the mechanical *** a physical model of dislocation motion in different UV modes was developed for describing the microstructure *** maximum error between the theoretical and experimental results was only 2.39％.This study provides a theoretical basis for the optimization of UV assisted micro-forming process.

In this paper, a novel model is proposed to investigate the neutron transport in scattering and absorbing medium. This solution to the linear Boltzmann equation is expanded from the idea of lattice Boltzmann method(LBM) with the collision and streaming process. The theoretical derivation of lattice Boltzmann model for transient neutron transport problem is proposed for the first *** fully implicit backward difference scheme is used to ensure the numerical stability, and relaxation time and equilibrium particle distribution function are obtained. To validate the new lattice Boltzmann model, the LBM formulation is tested for a homogenous media with different sources, and both transient and steady-state LBM results get a good agreement with the benchmark solutions.

Fence Theorem: Towards Dual-Objective Semantic-Structure Isolation in Preprocessing Phase for 3D Anomaly Detection

3D anomaly detection (AD) is prominent but difficult due to lacking a unified theoretical foundation for preprocessing design. We establish the Fence Theorem, formalizing preprocessing as a dual-objective semantic isolator: (1) mitigating cross-semantic interference to the greatest extent feasible and (2) confining anomaly judgements to aligned semantic spaces wherever viable, thereby establishing intra-semantic comparability. Any preprocessing approach achieves this goal through a two-stage process of Semantic-Division and Spatial-Constraints stage. Through systematic deconstruction, we theoretically and experimentally subsume existing preprocessing methods under this theorem via tripartite evidence: qualitative analyses, quantitative studies, and mathematical proofs. Guided by the Fence Theorem, we implement Patch3D, consisting of Patch-Cutting and Patch-Matching modules, to segment semantic spaces and consolidate similar ones while independently modeling normal features within each space. Experiments on Anomaly-ShapeNet and Real3D-AD with different settings demonstrate that progressively finer-grained semantic alignment in preprocessing directly enhances point-level AD accuracy, providing inverse validation of the theorem’s causal logic. Line laser measurement, evaluation and utilization of holistic gear deviations

The measurement of holistic gear deviations (HGD) is a fast-developing field of gear measurement technology in recent years. Line laser measurement is an effective approach to measure the HGD, and is beginning to be applied. However, compared with the mature conventional gear measurement based on "point" and "line" measurement, the holistic gear deviations measurement is imperfect, especially in acquisition, evaluation and utilization. This paper introduces the line laser measurement model of HGD and puts forward the solutions to the problems such as the determination of the position and attitude parameters of the laser sensor, the influence of the incident angle of the measuring light, and the occlusion of the adjacent gear teeth in the measurement. The representation method of the three-dimensional deviations of the tooth flank is illustrated. According to the HGD, a unified model for calculating the elemental deviations of the gear, such as the involute and helix, is found. The HGD evaluation system is established by means of the statistical analysis method. The full use of the HGD is explored from two aspects of gear process error analysis and gear performance prediction, including tooth flank twist analysis, calculation of gear integrated error (GIE) and transmission error (TE), matching method of large batch of gears, etc. The analysis system of HGD is built on the cloud platform. The measurement, evaluation and utilization of HGD are the key technologies of the next generation gear measurement. © 2025

Current diffusion-based inpainting models struggle to preserve unmasked regions or generate highly coherent content. Additionally, it is hard for them to generate meaningful content for 3D inpainting. To tackle these challenges, we design a plug-and-play branch that runs through the entire generation process to enhance existing models. Specifically, we utilize dual encoders - a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) encoder and the pre-trained Variational AutoEncoder (VAE) encoder, to encode masked images. The latent code and the feature map from the dual encoders are fed to diffusion models simultaneously. In addition, we apply Zero-padded initialization to solve the problem of mode collapse caused by this branch. Experiments on BrushBench and EditBench demonstrate that models with our plug-and-play branch can improve the coherence of inpainting, and our model achieves new state-of-the-art results.
