This paper first analyzes the feasibility of SA-508 Grade 3 Class 1 Steel as an alternative material for Supercritical Water-Cooled reactor (SCWR) reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV). This kind of steel is limited to be applied in SCWR RPV due to its quenching property, though large forging could be accomplished by domestic manufacturers in forging aspect. Therefore, steels with higher strength and better quenching property are needed for SWCR RPV. The chemical component of SA-508 Gr.3 Cl.2 steel is similar to that of SA-508 Gr.3 Cl.1 steel, and more appropriate matching of strength and toughness could be achieved by the adjusting the elements contents, as well as proper control of tempering temperature and time. In light of the fact that Cl.2 steel has been successfully applied to steam generator, it could be an alternative material for SWCR RPV. SA-508 Gr.4N steel with high strength and good toughness is another alternative material for SCWR RPV. But large amount of research work before application is still needed for the lack of data on welding and irradiation etc.

As a promising number representation method to provide inspiring operational performance, the Residue Number system (RNS) has been widely applied in many key applications for data pocessing. However, a highly-efficient and general-purpose reverse converter, which is the key component in an RNS system, is still less to be seen, due to the costly and complex operators that require large amounts of computing resources and a long latency to accomplish. In this paper, we are targeting at reverse converters that are highly efficient and can support general moduli sets. We first propose optimizing methods based on the bit wise arithmetic to improve the performance of general reverse converters such as CRT and New CRT. The methods are capable of replacing expensive operations such as additions and multiplications with bit wise operations. We also optimize the performance of specific reverse converter through condition reduction and pre-calculation methods. Furthermore, we develop a user controlled FPGA design generator that can produce optimized reverse converter designs for a number of different moduli sets. Compared with the existing optimized converter designs, our proposed methods can further reduce the latency and resource consumption by 54.2% to 84.6% and 65% to 88.5% respectively.

High temperature pressure sensors have been widely applied in modern industry. However, the performance of the pressure sensor is largely dependent on the thermal stability of ohmic contact electrode. This paper presents a TiSi 2 /Ti/TiN/Pt/Au multilayer electrode. Linear transmission line method (TLM) and voltmeter-ammeter method have been used to measure the electronic properties of the electrode at high temperature. The test results show that the multilayer electrode can be used in fabricating high temperature pressure sensor. Moreover, a high temperature piezoresistive pressure sensor is designed using this multilayer electrode. ANSYS software and finite element method (FEM) have been used to analyze the stress distribution, sensitivity and nonlinearity. To verify this design, the pressure sensor is fabricated based on silicon on insulator (SOI) wafer. The pressure sensor is measured across the range of 30-150kPa and the temperature range is 25-500°C. The test results show that the ohmic contact electrode and the pressure sensor are able to work at high temperature.

This paper reports a silicon-silicon anodic bonding process based on embedded glass. We successfully embedded glass into patterned silicon groove by fusion treatment and bonded it with another silicon wafer by anodic bonding process. This process realizes the precise control of bonding pattern and the depth of the bonding gap without electrical connection between two silicon wafers. Tension test result shows that the bonding strength is over 7MPa-which is in accordance with normal anodic bonding process, so that the process can be used in a wide range of MEMS devices design.

In order to generate hundreds of thousands of amperes current, power voltage must reach ten thousand volt. So the negative pole of power must be grounded to keep the system safe. Analysis results show that current through grounding connection will be generated when multiple points grounding is adopt, this paper calculates out the current through grounding connection by simulation, at last, this paper put forward that single point grounding is suitable for the pulse forming net system, which can eliminate the current through the grounding connection.

This paper introduces a new energy storage method consists of "battery + pulse capacitor", which reduces the power requirements for shipboard railgun to power grid. First the model of hybrid energy storage is built based on the course of discharging, then peak value of the current when battery charges capacitor is calculated out by theoretical derivation, and a constant current charging method is designed. On this basis, simulation is carried out under the condition that the thyristor fails short, the results show that the failure will damage the system, based on this, this paper design a method of protecting the system from overcurrent damage.

This paper introduces a new energy storage method consists of "battery + pulse capacitor", which makes the instantaneous power amplified and reduces the power requirements for shipped launching device to power grid. When batteries charge the pulse capacitor, the voltage of the major circuit oscillates, the oscillation will impact the thyristor, analysis shows that the oscillation is caused by the improper parameters of the thyristor absorption branch. This paper puts forward a new designation method of parameters of the thyristor absorption branch based on hybrid energy storage. Optimization parameters are given out in this paper, which can simultaneously protect the thyristor and reduce the oscillation. At last, simulation is carried out to test the method.

Increasing the frequency of harvests through multiple cropping is a promising way to increase global food production. In double cropping rice, prolonged seedling age leads to yield losses; however, the underlying mechanisms that cause yield reduction are poorly understood. In this study, field experiments were conducted in the early and late growing seasons of 2013 and 2014 in Zhangbang village, Wuxue county, Hubei province, china. Two seedling age treatments (control and prolonged) were studied in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Compared to the control seedling age treatment of 30–35 days, grain yield was reduced in the prolonged seedling age treatment of 40–46 days by 17.9% in the early growing season of 2013 and 2014, and 18.2% in the late growing season of 2014. Yield loss resulted from reduced biomass and grain weight. Premature heading was observed in the prolonged seedling age treatment in both growing seasons; main stem heading occurred 8–13 days earlier and tiller stem heading about 8 days later compared to the control seedling age treatment. Full heading was completed within 12 days in the control seedling age treatment, while in the prolonged seedling age treatment within 27–33 days. In the prolonged seedling age treatment, yield loss resulted from the reduced grain yield of both stem types, one bearing premature-heading panicles and the other bearing normal-heading panicles. Single-stem measurements, including biomass, grain weight, plant height, leaf area, length and width of flag leaf, and degeneration of panicle branches and spikelets, significantly changed in both stem types. Overall, it is important to prevent prolonged seedling age in double cropping rice mainly through the reasonable arrangement of crops in a rotation system.
