DS evidence theory is a widely used uncertainty inference algorithm for decision fusion that can fuse this complementary and redundant information to reduce the uncertainty of the system. Evidence conflict is the most common problem in the application of DS evidence theory, and how to resolve the conflict is the key to obtaining reasonable and reliable decision results. To resolve the evidence conflicts, numerous scholars have used different distance functions to improve the DS combination rule to effectively manage the conflicting evidence. However, there are only few relevant studies that address the performance of different distance functions for handling evidence conflicts. Therefore, this paper discusses the performance of five distance functions (Euclidean distance function, Manhattan distance function, Minkowsky distance function, Jffreys distance function and Camberra distance function) to handle evidence conflicts by performing simulations in a fault diagnosis system for typical mechanical vibration signals. © 2022 IEEE.

Taking the IGBT power module of the inverter device as the research object, finite element analysis technology was used to explore the influence of long-term service on the thermal characteristics and stress-strain of the IGBT module. At the same time, the influence of service aging on the electromagnetic compatibility performance of the device was studied, and the finite element simulation results were verified through accelerated aging experiments. The results showed that during the long-term operation of the IGBT module, due to the different thermal expansion coefficients of its materials, strain differences were found, ultimately leading to an increase in its ground capacitance, resulting in an increase in the amplitude of the common mode conducted noise of the device by 3dBμA in the frequency band after 20MHz. This study will provide theoretical guidance for the electromagnetic compatibility design of inverter devices for long-term service. ©2024 IEEE.

The accurate prediction of critical heat flux(CHF) is of great significance to the safe operation of the reactor. At present, most of the traditional methods for predicting CHF are based on relational fitting in mathematical form, which are not accurate enough and may can not taking full advantage of experimental data. Therefore, a prediction model based on random forest algorithm (RF) is proposed, the model is based on CHF 2006 look-up table, and the accuracy and smoothness of the model have been verified when predicting CHF. In this paper, the variation trend of CHF predicted value and actual value with pressure, mass flow rate and thermodynamic quality is given. It has been verified that the error of this method is acceptable, the predicted value is in good agreement with the experimental value, and conforms to the corresponding physical laws, which can provide a reference for the development of high-precision CHF prediction models or CHF-related experiments. SeaFree-GS: Reconstructing Underwater 3D Scenes With True Appearances

Reconstructing underwater 3D scenes with accurate appearances is crucial for numerous tasks. However, existing underwater 3D reconstruction methods often fail to restore the true scene appearance due to degradation in underwater images caused by water effects. In this letter, we propose SeaFree-GS, a novel approach leveraging 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) to reconstruct underwater scenes with their true appearances. Specifically, we introduce a Degradation-Aware Dual-Color Modeling strategy, where each Gaussian is assigned an intrinsic color representing the true scene appearance and a viewpoint-dependent degraded color to incorporate water effects. For a given viewpoint, this strategy physically derives the corresponding degraded colors from the intrinsic colors to render the underwater image. To improve reconstruction accuracy, we introduce a Content-Based Loss for selective enhancement of supervision over foreground and background regions, and a Coarse-Grained Depth Loss to enforce additional geometric constraints. Experiments on three datasets demonstrate that SeaFree-GS achieves state-of-the-art performance in Underwater True Appearance Reconstruction, and also performs competitively in Underwater Novel View Synthesis. © 1994-2012 IEEE.

Persistent Memory (PM) offers both byte-address ability and non-volatility, making it well-suited for accelerating B+-Tree indexes. However, existing persistent B+-Tree indexes face significant performance challenges due to high structural modification operation (SMO) overhead. SMOs often result in costly item migrations and increased tail latency, which severely degrade the overall performance. In this paper, we present SSTree, a high-performance B+- Tree index specifically optimized to address SMO overhead. SSTree introduces three key innovations: (i) efficient leaf node expansion using a list of subnodes to postpone expensive node splits, (ii) delegated fingerprints to speed up search operations across subnodes, and (iii) proactive subnode compaction that employs out-of-place updates to optimize item organization. Our evaluation demonstrates that SSTree delivers up to 4.38× higher write throughput and up to 62× lower tail latency compared to state-of-the-art persistent B+-Tree indexes. © 2024 IEEE.

In view of the quality problems of manual TIG coating of cobalt-based alloy, the Laser Additive Manufacturing process was studied, especially the optimization of process parameters. Then a series of experiments were carried out on the cobalt-based alloy Additive Manufacturing layer and compared with the traditional manual TIG coating layer. The containment spray system is widely used in pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants, which can not only remove the heat in the containment but also remove the fission products suspended in the containment to reduce the discharge of radioactive substances to the environment during accident conditions. The aerosol removal behavior is affected by the spray droplet size distribution. The effect of different spray flow rates on aerosol removal is studied experimentally, and an improved evaluation model is established based on the spray droplet size distribution to analyze the efficiency of removal mechanisms. The experiments are carried out in the CATH (Containment Aerosol Thermal-Hydraulics) test facility with a total volume of 18.5 m3, where aerosols are injected and scrubbed by spray droplets. The spray droplets are generated by a full-cone spray nozzle at the volume flow rate of 0.4 m3/h and 0.6 m3/h, where droplet size distribution is measured by a Laser Diffractometer. Polydisperse particles of TiO2 are used to simulate the solid aerosol, whose diameters are in the range of 0.2 ~ 1.6 μm measured with an Aerosol Spectrometer. Experimental results show that the removal efficiency is higher for the larger particles, and the global removal efficiency of aerosols improved with the increase of spray flow rate from 0.4 to 0.6 m3/h. In addition, the removal efficiency of inertial impaction, interception, Brownian diffusion are quantitatively evaluated by the improved model, which shows that the effect of inertial impaction and interception is more significant for large particles. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Liquid metal has the advantages of high boiling point and strong thermal conductivity and is selected as the coolant for a new generation nuclear system. In addition, the narrow rectangular channel is used in the small reactors or research reactors due to its compact structure and high heat transfer capacity. In order to accurately simulate the turbulent heat transfer of liquid metals in narrow rectangular channels, based on the relevant experimental data, this paper explored suitable numerical simulation methods. First of all, according to the research object, the appropriate experimental data was selected, and the geometric modeling, mesh division, and the mesh independence verification were carried out. It was ensured that the y+ meets the requirements of each turbulence model and wall treatment model. Several typical turbulence models and the wall treatment models were evaluated. For the low Prandtl number fluid such as liquid metal, it is necessary to select a suitable turbulent Prandtl number model in the RANS simulation. The sensitivity of the calculation results to the turbulent Prandtl number was analyzed. Finally, the existing turbulent Prandtl number models were evaluated. The suitable at different Pe was given based on experimental value, so that the turbulent heat transfer of liquid metal in a narrow rectangular channel can be accurately simulated. Graphene and related materials are emerging revolutionary materials due to fascinating stimuli-responsive physiochemical properties having widespread applications in developing advanced nano-systems for detection, diagnostics, and therapeutics in biomedical fields. Various materials like metal nanoparticles, polymers, dyes, drugs, and proteins could be combined yielding graphene-based composite materials (GBCMs) to synergistically fulfill different biomedical requirements. The 2D conjugated structure, easy surface functionalization via covalent or van der Waal interactions, and combination with different components for versatile functionalities altogether contribute to the development of GBCM for healthcare applications. This review specifically focuses on GBCMs and discusses specific material properties relevant to their material applications in healthcare. Furthermore, the synthesis, toxicity, and biocompatibility of these GBCMs, and their interactions with biological materials are thoroughly discussed. Importantly, the recent cutting-edge applications in the field of healthcare, including its role in the development of antibacterial, anti-viral, and photothermal therapies, wound healing, drug delivery, neurodegenerative disease therapy, and biosensing based on GBCMs are well-updated. Additionally, the applications of GBCMs in point-of-care devices, wearable electronics, and tissue engineering are well summarized. We hope this review opens up more possibilities to design more innovative healthcare materials derived from graphene. © 2025 The Authors
