A transmissive broadband wide-angle linear-to-circular polarization converter based on metal strips loaded metasurface is proposed in this paper. The converter is composed of three metallic layers separated by dielectric substrates and the metal strips printed on each layer keep orthogonal to each other. To further investigate the operating mechanism of the design, equivalent circuit models are presented. Moreover, the converter is verified to be effective in polarization conversion through the full-wave simulation. With the insertion loss less than 2 dB and 3 dB, the simulation 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth keeps 67% and 76%, respectively. Furthermore, at an increased incident angle of 40°, the device can still maintain an AR bandwidth over 47% at 2 dB insertion loss, which manifests the validity and rationality of the converter design. © 2022 IEEE.

This study analyzed an yttrium hydride (YH2) moderated supercritical carbon dioxide cooled reactor loaded with pin-type, beryllium oxide diluted oxide fuel elements to reduce the critical enrichment. The impact of the YH2 on the coolant void reactivity was studied along with a moderator zoning scheme to flatten the radial power distribution. The YH2 was added as hexagonal moderating rods at the center of the fuel assemblies. The core was modeled using the continuous-energy reactor Monte Carlo code (RMC) with the on-the-fly cross sections treatment. The results showed that the YH2 moderator increased the thermal fission and reduced the critical enrichment of the core with the same diluent volume fraction by more than 30%. The YH2 moderator significantly softened the neutron energy spectrum and reduced the neutron leakage upon core voiding, resulting in both a weaker positive spectral reactivity feedback and a weaker negative leakage reactivity feedback during core depressurization. For an UO2-loaded core, the YH2 gave a lower negative coolant void reactivity, while for a mixed oxide fuel (MOX)-loaded core with diluent volume fractions smaller than 35%, the spectral feedback was more important and the YH2 strongly reduced the positive coolant void reactivity to less than $1. Arranging the YH2 in the peripheral assemblies reduced the radial power peaking factor to 1.319. The study shows that the YH2 moderator can reduce the critical enrichment, make the core less sensitive to voiding, and can flatten the radial power distribution of a single-enrichment core through moderator zoning. Metamorphic Relation (MR) plays a crucial role in Metamorphic Testing (MT), which can be regarded as the implication relation from the input pattern to the output pattern. Based on MR's properties, the identification of Metamorphic Relations (MRs) can be from its input pattern and output pattern, respectively. However, the finding of the effective input pattern is very first and important. Especially for complicated mathematical function includes more than two input variables, we systematically analyze the structural model of input pattern in MR, propose the concept of the class of basic input pattern, as well as prove that any one input pattern can be expressed as a combination of basic input patterns in scientific computing programs. Moreover, the structural model of input pattern in MR is established based on previous proof. Finally, we put forward an identification algorithm framework and analysis its complexity. The core contribution of our method is to decompose the input pattern identification problem in multi-dimensional space into a single one-dimensional. For this reason, the examples show that the complexity of the algorithm is reduced significantly. © 2022 IEEE.

In the high-temperature operation of very high-temperature gas-cooled reactors (VHTRs), "microclimate reaction" are one of the key corrosion reactions of concern. This study investigates the corrosion behavior and mechanisms of the two mainstream high-temperature alloys, Incoloy 800H and Inconel 617, under minor air ingress accidents. The main focus is on comparing and analyzing the "microclimate reaction" corrosion behavior and mechanisms of the two alloys, as well as exploring changes in their mechanical properties. The results show that during the experiment, both alloys primarily underwent oxidation and "microclimate reaction". The double-layer oxide of Cr2 O3 -MnCr2 O4 /MnFe2 O4 and the SiO2 layer on the surface of Incoloy 800H provide good resistance to "microclimate reaction," whereas the single-layer Cr2 O3 oxide on Inconel 617 is not effective in preventing "microclimate reaction". The mechanical property test results indicate that the decarburization caused by "microclimate reaction" does not significantly affect the basic mechanical properties of the alloy. Research on "microclimate reactions" should primarily focus on preventing the oxidation layer from cracking and reducing the time during which the alloy matrix is unprotected by a protective oxide layer. © 2024, The Authors. The force-generation mechanism of a dovelike flapping-wing micro air vehicle was studied by numerical simulation and *** obtain the real deformation pattern of the flapping wing,the digital image correlation technology was used to measure the dynamic deformation of the *** dynamic deformation data were subsequently interpolated and embedded into the CFD solver to account for the aeroelastic *** dynamic deformation data were further used to calculate the inertial forces by regarding the wing as a system of particles to take into account the wing *** temporal variation of the forces produced by the flapping wing was measured by a miniature load *** numerical results provide more flow details of the unsteady aerodynamics of the flapping wing in terms of vortex formation and *** calculated results of the inertial forces are analyzed and compared with the CFD results which represent the aerodynamic *** addition,the total forces,i.e.,the sum of the CFD result and inertial result,are compared with the experimental results,and an overall good agreement is obtained.

Metamorphic testing can effectively alleviate the test oracle problem. However, the program under test needs to be executed one more time;it is particularly significant to select the metamorphic relation with the highly fault-detecting ability and improve the test cost-effectiveness. Due to the limitations of existing evaluation methods in engineering applications, a validity evaluation method for metamorphic relation is presented based on single factor and multi-factor mutation scores. It can guide their priority ranking and selection. Experiments show that this method can significantly reduce test costs. © 2022 IEEE.

Melting and freezing model plays a crucial role in safety analysis for liquid metal fast reactors under core disruptive accidents. Thus, it’s necessary to establish suitable models for accurate prediction of molten materials migration after severe accidents happens. In this study, a kind of melting and freezing model is established in ACENA code. And the ACENA code is used to simulate the freezing behavior of melt and calculated results are compared with experimental results to verify the applicability of the model. According to the comparison it is shown that the simulation results by ACENA code agree well with experimental results. Both the changing trend and final value of penetration depth of melt are consistent with realistic conditions. Besides, the effects of heat exchange on penetration depth are also analyzed. This research contributes to the development of safety analysis tools for liquid metal reactors under severe accidents. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Compared with the traditional rigid robots, the continuum robot has been widely studied because of its advantages of compact design and flexible motion. The design of continuum parallel robots are similar to that of the traditional rigid-link parallel robot, and the precision, stability and strength characteristics of rigid-link parallel robots are combined with the compactness and flexibility characteristics of continuum robots. In recent research advances, it is well appreciated to suggest that the use of parallel continuum robots with passive supports is supported by elastic rods. The passive branch undergoes deformation along its entire length and uses complex formulas to describe its shape and kinematics. According to different methods, this paper proposes the design of a parallel robot dual continuum translation passive branch chain. This continuum joint will assume a constant curvature bend and use this assumption for kinematic modeling. Since the continuum joint is a flexible joint that utilizes the characteristics of new materials, it uses material deformation to replace the motion pair, which successfully realizes that the passive branch joint can replace the universal joint and the ball hinge in the parallel robot, and the joint can be bent more than 90 0 to achieve a larger range of workspace. Each passive branch of the new continuum robot is a continuum structure composed of two mutually coupled flexible hinge joints, and the translational motion of the end effector is inherently realized by using its material properties. The paper includes a new mechanism description and kinematics modeling. © 2023 IEEE.

With the growing popularity of API-driven multiservice application (mashup) development, the burgeoning web APIs have left developers drowning in the sea of web API selections. Matching developers with the most appropriate APIs is the key to improving user satisfaction and promoting more popular web applications. As a result, more and more researchers pay attention to web API recommender systems based on collaborative filtering. However, employing collaborative filtering to recommend APIs is challenging due to the severe sparsity of mashup and API interactions. To address this problem, we propose a probabilistic generative model, called the Binary-API Topic model (BAT), to parameterize mashups and APIs. Technically, BAT is equipped with a mechanism to extract binary-APIs and predict unknown pairwise interactions. To improve generality and capture more relevance from a limited number of interactions, we learn binary-API topics by directly modeling the generation of API co-occurrence patterns across the repository (all mashup collections from ***). The main advantage of BAT is that it preserves API co-occurrence patterns in model learning and exploits the rich global relevance. Finally, through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that BAT can achieve the highest performance on the sparse real-world data set. © 2023 IEEE.

Industrial robots are widely used in industrial production because of their high work efficiency and high flexibility, but their low tracking accuracy makes them unable to be applied on a large scale in high-precision manufacturing. Considering the modeling error of robot, the problem of low tracking accuracy should be solved by combining model-based methods and data-based methods. Thus, a model-data compound approach is proposed for compensating robot tracking error. This method comprehensively considers two error compensation methods of model-driven and data-driven, which constructed the input matrix by using the model-based information and the data-based information. The former includes the desired position, velocity, acceleration, torque and friction torque;and the latter includes the actual torque. For the purpose of predicting the correlation between the joint error and the historical joint motion state, the historical information of the joint motion is also added in the input matrix for improving the error prediction accuracy. Then, a convolutional neural network prediction model is constructed for predicting and compensating the tracking error of each actuated joint. The experimental results show that the proposed method has good prediction accuracy and compensation effect. Compared to joint control without using the proposed method, the root mean square of joint tracking errors was reduced by up to more than 69%. © 2023 IEEE.
