Introducing virtualization enhances the flexibility of time-sensitive networking (TSN), wherein applications manifest as service function chains comprising a series of virtual network functions (VNFs). However, such virtualized TSN realizes determinacy through global configuration, being too complicated to serve dynamic applications in time. To address this issue, we innovatively propose to achieve TSN scheduling by distributively executing admission control (AC), whereby the scheduling complexity is radically reduced. Specifically, we first build a two-way AC model that captures TSN multi-queue characteristics. Then, we define admissible regions of nodes and links, working as metrics for AC decision-making and enabling feasible TSN scheduling. Built upon this, we propose a joint AC and VNF embedding mechanism, Rapid Admission Control (RapidAC), which consists of two algorithms. The first algorithm responds to dynamic applications rapidly and derives node-mapping solutions by judging nodes’ admissible regions. Based on this, the second algorithm augments the detailed VNF embedding solution according to admissible regions of links. Simulation results show that RapidAC reduces runtime by 90% compared with existing TSN scheduling algorithms.

The strong corrosiveness of lead–bismuth eutectic (LBE) to alloys significantly limits the development of lead-cooled fast reactors. Herein, a multilayer coating containing Al-O, Cr-O, CrAl-O, and Al2O3 layers were deposited on ferritic–martensitic steel using magnetron sputtering and tested in oxygen-saturated LBE at 450, 550, and 650 °C for 2000 h. The phase transformation and microstructural evolution of the coating, owing to temperature and element diffusion, were characterized in detail at the microscale. At 450 °C, the Al2O3 layer partially transformed to δ*-Al2O3 and PbAl2O4, while the Cr-O layer crystallized into Cr2O3. At 650 °C, γ-Al2O3 transitioned to α-Al2O3, and a dense α-(Cr,Al)2O3 phase formed at the CrAl-O/Al2O3 interface, effectively blocking LBE penetration. Despite full infiltration of the Al2O3 layer at 650 °C, the CrAl-O interlayer suppressed elemental interdiffusion, maintaining substrate integrity. Temperature-dependent degradation revealed critical failure at the Cr-O layer due to MnCr2O4-induced porosity. The multilayer coating maintained a relatively good integrity at high temperatures and protected the substrate from LBE corrosion. © 2025 The Author(s)

In real life, many valuable products and highvalue important products are transported in long distances. Shocks and vibrations are caused during transportation, loading and unloading for various reasons. Any shock and vibration exceeding the regulations may cause damage to the transported products. So, it is necessary to monitor and analyze these data of shocks and vibrations scientifically, while considering that some transportation conditions have special requirements for installation space and transportation time. Therefore, an ultra-thin and long-lasting monitoring system has been developed based on MEMS accelerometer technology to measure shocks and vibrations. After series of independent tests and calibration tests conducted by a third party on the product, the results show that it can record and store the threeaxis acceleration, temperature, humidity, pressure, time and other parameters of the transportation process in real time, and complete the preliminary assessment of the transportation status of high-value products. Then engineers can conduct professional analysis of the data to obtain scientific transportation monitoring reports, and provide scientific basis for taking safety prevention and treatment measures for subsequent transportation.

GeoReF: Geometric Alignment Across Shape Variation for Category-level Object Pose Refinement

Object pose refinement is essential for robust object pose estimation. Previous work has made significant progress towards instance-level object pose refinement. Yet, category-level pose refinement is a more challenging problem due to large shape variations within a category and the discrepancies between the target object and the shape prior. To address these challenges, we introduce a novel architecture for category-level object pose refinement. Our approach integrates an HS-layer and learnable affine transformations, which aims to enhance the extraction and alignment of geometric information. Additionally, we introduce a cross-cloud transformation mechanism that efficiently merges diverse data sources. Finally, we push the limits of our model by incorporating the shape prior information for translation and size error prediction. We conducted extensive experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed framework. Through extensive quantitative experiments, we demonstrate significant improvement over the baseline method by a large margin across all metrics. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

Emerging Zoned Namespace (ZNS) SSDs provide hosts with fine-grained, performance-predictable storage management. The ZNS SSD divides its address space into zones, and each zone must be written sequentially and cannot be overwritten. However, the write constraint results in frequent small modifications of file metadata to record the latest logical block addresses of the updated data blocks, increasing the overhead of fsync() system call. We comprehensively analyze the metadata overhead of fsync on a real ZNS SSD and find that (1) the update size of most metadata blocks (e.g., tens of bytes) is far less than the IO unit of the zone (e.g., 4 KiB), and frequent fsyncs cause severe metadata write amplification; (2) metadata block IOs significantly increase the fsync latency, decreasing the throughput of *** reduce the metadata overhead of fsync, we build the byte-loggable zone based on the persistent write cache of the opened zone, a novel extension of ZNS, which can be appended at byte granularity instead of block. Based on the byte-loggable zone, we present BlzFS, a high-performance and crash-consistent file system for ZNS SSD. Firstly, BlzFS maintains the update ranges of the metadata block by the update bitmap. Secondly, BlzFS ensures the persistence and consistency of metadata by logging the partial updates of metadata blocks to the device’s byte-loggable zone. Finally, BlzFS restores metadata consistency by replaying the metadata update log and scanning the list of recent allocated metadata blocks. In the evaluation, BlzFS shows a 33.5%∼96.1% reduction in metadata write traffic and a 1.37×∼1.91× throughput improvement compared with the original ZNS storage system.

Deep neural networks are proven to be vulnerable to backdoor attacks. Detecting the trigger samples during the inference stage, i.e., the test-time trigger sample detection, can prevent the backdoor from being triggered. However, existing detection methods often require the defenders to have high accessibility to victim models, extra clean data, or knowledge about the appearance of backdoor triggers, limiting their practicality. In this paper, we propose the test-time corruption robustness consistency evaluation (TeCo)1, a novel test-time trigger sample detection method that only needs the hard-label outputs of the victim models without any extra information. Our journey begins with the intriguing observation that the backdoor-infected models have similar performance across different image corruptions for the clean images, but perform discrepantly for the trigger samples. Based on this phenomenon, we design TeCo to evaluate test-time robustness consistency by calculating the deviation of severity that leads to predictions' transition across different corruptions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that compared with state-of-the-art defenses, which even require either certain information about the trigger types or accessibility of clean data, TeCo outperforms them on different backdoor attacks, datasets, and model architectures, enjoying a higher AUROC by 10% and 5 times of stability. The problem of trajectory planning for formation variation of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) is challenging due to the coupled non-collision constraints that apply to multiple vehicles. To address this issue, an innovative frame-work based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) is proposed in this paper. The framework decouples complex constraints into two categories: individual constraints and mutual constraints. The former category involves dynamic, formation, and static obstacle constraints, which can be solved in parallel by each vehicle. Convex feasible set (CFS) algorithm is employed in this paper to simplify the static obstacle constraints. The latter category deals with collision avoidance among vehicles during the variation process and can be solved by nonlinear solvers. The convergence of the ADMM for the optimization problem is proved in this paper. Compared with solving the entire problem directly, the proposed framework reduces computation time and improves the quality of solution.

YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) is a crucial aspect of research in the field of superconducting applications, where its high anisotropy is generally undesirable in strong power transmission. However, from a dialectical perspective, a thorough investigation of material anisotropy can offer an additional degree of freedom to tune potential properties and design innovative devices. This work employed pulsed laser deposition to fabricate a high-quality YBCO thin film (Tc = 89K) and used the Mueller matrix spectroscopic ellipsometer (MMSE) to determine the complete dielectric tensor of the YBCO film across the ultraviolet to near-infrared spectrum (245-1000nm), enabling a comprehensive, quantitative study of the optical anisotropy of YBCO. It provided optical constants and dielectric function spectra for different axes. We found that YBCO exhibits birefringence and dichroism both in-plane and out-of-plane. By combining standard critical point (SCP) analysis and first-principles calculations, we identified specific interband transitions related to SCP in the YBCO dielectric spectra, revealing the physical essence of anisotropic optical transitions from a quantum mechanical standpoint. Temperature-dependent studies of the transitions and optical constants were conducted, highlighting the significant potential of YBCO for optical device applications. The work also holds relevance for understanding the origins of copper-based high-temperature superconductivity. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

To improve the trajectory optimization efficiency of robot manipulators, this paper proposes a novel approach for trajectory optimization and control of manipulators based on multistage nonlinear model predictive control (msNLMPC). This approach is realized by using a neural state space model as the prediction model of nonlinear model predictive control (NLMPC). The simulation results show that the actual trajectory of the manipulator in our proposed scheme coincides with the desired trajectory. The manipulator achieves the control task of following the optimal trajectory. Our proposed method improves the trajectory optimization efficiency of the robot manipulator.
