Cloud services must upgrade continuously in order to maintain competitive. However, a large body of empirical evidence suggests that, upgrade procedures used in practice are failure-prone and often cause planned or unplanned downtime. In this paper, we first define what is cloud service online upgrade, and then we analyze the shortcomings of current mainstream cloud service online upgrade mechanisms. In particular, the mixed version problem along with rolling upgrade and the capacity loss problem brought by split mode upgrade have been discussed. After that, we propose a solution called Delayed Switch, which can conduct cloud service upgrade with lower loss of availability and capacity in contrast with existing approaches. We prove the performance of delayed switch in theory and develop a prototype system applying this method. And by conducting experiments with a typical e-commerce service named Rubis, we validate the effectiveness and efficiency of our approach. © 2014 IEEE.

Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) has received widespread attention for its photo-realistic novel view synthesis quality. Current methods mainly represent the scene based on point sampling of ray casting, ignoring the influence of the observed area changing with distance. In addition, The current sampling strategies are all focused on the distribution of sampling points on the ray, without paying attention to the sampling of the ray. We found that the current ray sampling strategy for scenes with the camera moving forward severely reduces the convergence speed. In this work, we extend the point representation to area representation by using relative positional encoding, and propose a ray sampling strategy that is suitable for camera trajectory moving forward. We validated the effectiveness of our method on multiple public datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

The energy consumption of urban rail transit system involves train traction, air conditioning system, elevator, water supply and drainage equipment and so on, wherein the traction energy consumption accounts for more than 40% of the total energy consumption. With more concerning about low-carbon and environment protection, it has become a research hotspot that how to minimize the traction energy consumption during operation. Aiming at the optimized control of single train in complex line conditions, we design an algorithm based on recursion, by which we can obtain the most efficient control strategy with a set of constraints and effectively reduce the traction energy consumption. Meanwhile, we focus on the multiple-unit trains' cooperative control issue, and give the relevant solutions to improve the proportion of recovered renewable braking energy.

MapReduce is commonly used as a parallel massive data processing model. When deploying it as a service over the open systems, the computational integrity of the participants is becoming an important issue due to the untrustworthy workers. Current duplication-based solutions can effectively solve non-collusive attacks, yet most of them require a centralized worker to re-compute additional sampled tasks to defend collusive attacks, which makes the worker a bottleneck. In this paper, we try to explore a trusted worker scheduling framework, named VAWS, to detect collusive attackers and assure the integrity of data processing without extra re-computation. Based on the historical results of verification, we construct an Integrity Attestation Graph (IAG) in VAWS to identify malicious mappers and remove them from the framework. To further improve the efficiency of identification, a verification-couple selection method with the IAG guidance is introduced to detect the potential accomplices of the confirmed malicious worker. We have proven the effectiveness of our proposed method on the improvement of system performance in theoretical analysis. Intensive experiments show the accuracy of VAWS is over 97% and the overhead of computation is closed to the ideal value of 2 with the increasing of the number of map tasks in our scheme. Single image super-resolution reconstruction is a challenging ill-posed inverse problem currently. In this paper, we propose a method based on image classification and sparse representation for single image super-resolution reconstruction. Various images belong to different image category, and each category contains different contents and structures respectively, especially the high-frequency feature. Therefore, we extract the features of the input low-resolution image, and classify it into the corresponding category. Then the high-resolution image is reconstructed by sparse representation with the dictionary trained from the corresponding database, which consists of high-resolution and low-resolution image patch pairs. The experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves better performance in visual effect and qualitative analysis, by comparison with some well-known methods. © 2016 IEEE.

In this paper we investigate the problem of finding a delay- and degree-bounded maximum sum of nodes application level multicast tree. We then proved the problem is NP-hard, and its relationship with the well-studied degree-bounded minimum maximum-delay multicast tree problem. We propose a distributed algorithm - OverStream, which adopts PPAF heuristic for father node to choose optimal child nodes based on multiple network parameters. Simulation results show that our algorithm is better than OMNI, SpreadIt, HMTP, and Zigzag in general. © 2005 IEEE.

In the relay-trading mode of wireless cognitive radio networks the secondary user (SU) can achieve a promised spectrum access opportunity by relaying for the primary user (PU). How to utilize the exchanged resource efficiently and fairly is an interesting and practical problem. In this paper we proposed a cooperative spectrum sharing strategy (RT-CSS) for the relay-trading mode from the fairness view. The cooperative SUs are gathered in a cooperative sharing group (CSG), and contribution metric (CM) is proposed to measure each CSG member's contribution to CSG as well as benefit from CSG. The adjustment of CM can guarantee the fairness and efficiency of spectrum sharing. The numerical simulation shows that RT-CSS can achieve better performance than the sense-uncooperative mode. © 2012 IEEE.

With the rapid development of the Internet, the de facto inter-domain routing protocol, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), has become very vulnerable to many attacks. For this, several secure inter-domain protocols have been proposed, most of which are focus on addressing the issue of faking AS path, but cannot address other issues, such as violating routing policies, reachability attacks and so on. Based on the concept of identifier/locator split and routing isolation, we have proposed a secure identifier-based inter-domain Routing, SIR [1], which can provide control plane security without using the high overhead mechanism. Then, we here optimize SIR and propose another secure inter-domain routing, Optimized SIR (O-SIR), which introduces a checked path table and records the path which has been checked before in each AS. We present the simulations based on the real world datasets CAIDA and compare the performance between SIR and O-SIR by different deployments and different position of attacks. The results show that O-SIR can reduce 18%-45% communication cost of verifying paths with additional below 0.1% routing table size. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Public auditing is a new technique to protect the integrity of outsourced data in the remote cloud. Users delegate the ability of auditing to a third party auditor (TPA), and assume that each result from the TPA is correct. However, the TPA is not always trustworthy in reality. In this paper, we consider a scenario in which the TPA may lower the reputation of the cloud server by cheating users, and propose a novel public auditing scheme to address this security issue. The analyses and the evaluation prove that our scheme is both secure and efficient. © 2016 The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.
