Context situation, which means a snapshot of the status of the real world, is formed by integrating a large amount of contexts collected from various resources. How to get the context situation and use the situation to provide better services is a challenging issue. In this paper, we focused on this challenge on the basis of the mobile cloud computing architecture. An abstract model is proposed in this paper to uniformly collect the context and send them to cloud. A rule-based large-scale context aggregation algorithm is also proposed which utilizes the MapReduce computing paradigm. Finally, a large-scale context management framework based on the abstract model and the context aggregation algorithm is proposed, and a real-time traffic demo is implemented to verify the validity of the framework.

Due to the large message transmission latency in distributed Virtual Environments(DVEs) on Wide Area Net-work(WAN), the effectiveness of causality consistency control of message ordering is determined by not only causal order of messages but also the real-timeness. If merely causal order is considered, the real-time property of DVEs may not be ensured because of the unlimited waiting time for the delayed messages. While if only real-timeness is emphasized, there may be too many delayed messages, which have to be discarded, to maintain the quality of causal message ordering. Therefore, a trade-off between the quality of causal order delivery and real-timeness is necessary for DVEs. In this article, a novel causality based message ordering approach is presented. In general, this new approach dynamically balances the demands of causal order delivery and real-timeness. Experiment results demonstrate the approach can enhance the quality of causality, while simultaneously keep the real-time property of DVEs. © 2011 IEEE.

Real-life behaviors shown by the mobile users typically exhibit plenty noises, making it hard to construct an effective recommendation engine. In this paper, we present a fused model based on the LR algorithm and the GBDT algorithm to recommend vertical industry commodities in a mobile setting. A set of specifically designed methods are proposed to deal with the data preprocessing and feature extraction problem for the mobile recommendation scenario. The proposed method is evaluated on a large scale real-world dataset provided by the Alibaba mobile shopping department. Result on the F1 score has seen an improvement of 2%-36% compared with the baseline.

It is an important issue to preserve the consistent delivering order of messages at each site in distributed Virtual Environments(DVEs). Currently, the violations of message delivery order are inclined to happen in the large-scale and frequently interactive DVEs running on Wide Area Network(WAN). The inconsistent anomalies are characterized as unpredictable, unrepeatable and uncontrollable, which results in the severe problem for the development of the consistency control approaches. Meanwhile, it is also highly expensive to directly verify the proposed approaches on WAN. Therefore, in this paper, we design and establish an original multi-layered emulation platform in LAN, which can emulate the network latency of WAN and repeat the scenarios of violations. On the platform, the designers of consistency approaches don't have to spend efforts to realize the fundamental functions of the verification, but could pay more attention to the development and optimization of the control algorithms, which is very beneficial for the improvement of message ordering approaches. © 2011 IEEE.

Grid computing presents a new trend to distributed computation and Internet applications, which can construct a virtual single image of heterogeneous resources, provide uniform application interface and integrate widespread computational resources into super, ubiquitous and transparent aggregation. In the adoption of Grid computing, China, who is facing more resource heterogeneity and other specific demands, has put much effort on both research and practical utilization. In this paper, we introduce the major China Grid research projects and their perspective applications. First we give the overview of the four government-sponsored programs in Grid, namely the China national Grid, ChinaGrid, NSFC Grid, and ShanghaiGrid. Then we present six representative ongoing Grid systems in details, which are categorized into Grid middleware and Grid application. This paper provides the general picture of Grid computing in China, and shows the great efforts, devotion and confidence in China to use Grid technology to boost the society, economics and scientific research. © Springer 2004.

Experimental verification of the parasitic bipolar amplification effect in PMOS single event transients

The contribution of parasitic bipolar amplification to SETs is experimentally verified using two P-hit target chains in the normal layout and in the special layout. For PMOSs in the normal layout, the single-event charge collection is composed of diffusion, drift, and the parasitic bipolar effect, while for PMOSs in the special layout, the parasitic bipolar junction transistor cannot turn on. Heavy ion experimental results show that PMOSs without parasitic bipolar amplification have a 21.4% decrease in the average SET pulse width and roughly a 40.2% reduction in the SET cross-section.

Fast flow field prediction of pollutant leakage diffusion based on deep learning

Abstract: Predicting pollutant leakage and diffusion processes is crucial for ensuring people’s safety. While the deep learning method offers high simulation efficiency and superior generalization, there is currently a lack of research on predicting pollutant leakage and diffusion flow field using deep learning. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct further studies in this area. This paper introduces a two-level network method to model the flow characteristics of pollutant diffusion. The proposed method in this study demonstrates a significant enhancement in flow field prediction accuracy compared to traditional deep learning methods. Moreover, it improves computational efficiency by over 800 times compared to traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. Unlike conventional CFD methods that require grid expansion to calculate all operation conditions, the deep learning method is not confined by grid limitations. While deep learning methods may not entirely replace CFD methods, they can serve as a valuable supplementary tool, expanding the versatility of CFD methods. The findings of this research establish a robust foundation for incorporating deep learning methods in addressing pollutant leakage and diffusion challenges. User-Item (U-I) matrix has been used as the dominant data infrastructure of Collaborative Filtering (CF). To reduce space consumption in runtime and storage, caused by data sparsity and growing need to accommodate side information in CF design, one needs to go beyond the U-I Matrix. In this paper, we took a case study of Succinct Representations in Collaborative Filtering, rather than using a U-I Matrix. Our key insight is to introduce Succinct Data Structures as a new infrastructure of CF. Towards this, we implemented a User-based K-Nearest-Neighbor CF prototype via Wavelet Tree, by first designing a Accessible Compressed Documents (ACD) to compress U-I data in Wavelet Tree, which is efficient in both storage and runtime. Then, we showed that ACD can be applied to develop an efficient intersection algorithm without decompression, by taking advantage of ACD's characteristics. We evaluated our design on 1,000 cores of Tianhe-II supercomputer, with one of the largest public data set ml-20m. The results showed that our prototype could achieve 3.7 minutes on average to deliver the results. © 2019 IEEE.

AutoMal: Automatic clustering and signature generation for malwares based on the network flow

The volume of malwares is growing at an exponential speed nowadays. This huge growth makes it extremely hard to analyse malware manually. Most existing signatures extracting methods are based on string signatures, and string matching is not accurate and time consuming. Therefore, this paper presents AutoMal, a system for automatically extracting signatures from large-scale malwares. Firstly, the system proposes to represent the network flows by using feature hashing, which can dramatically reduce the high-dimensional feature spaces that are general in malware analysis. Then, we design a clustering and median filtering method to classify the malware vectors into different types. Finally, it introduces the signature generation algorithm based on Bayesian method. The system can extract both the byte signature and the hash signature of malwares from its network flow with low false positive and zero false negative. Our evaluation shows that AutoMal can generate strongly noise-resisted signatures that exactly depict the characteristics of malware. © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

The Internet based cyber-physical world has profoundly changed the information environment for the development of artificial intelligence(AI), bringing a new wave of AI research and promoting it into the new era of AI 2.0. As one of the most prominent characteristics of research in AI 2.0 era, crowd intelligence has attracted much attention from both industry and research communities. Specifically, crowd intelligence provides a novel problem-solving paradigm through gathering the intelligence of crowds to address challenges. In particular, due to the rapid development of the sharing economy, crowd intelligence not only becomes a new approach to solving scientific challenges, but has also been integrated into all kinds of application scenarios in daily life, e.g., online-tooffline(O2O) application, real-time traffic monitoring, and logistics management. In this paper, we survey existing studies of crowd intelligence. First, we describe the concept of crowd intelligence, and explain its relationship to the existing related concepts, e.g., crowdsourcing and human computation. Then, we introduce four categories of representative crowd intelligence platforms. We summarize three core research problems and the state-of-the-art techniques of crowd intelligence. Finally, we discuss promising future research directions of crowd intelligence.
