The Internetware" paradigm is fundamentally changing the traditional way of software development. More and more software projects are developed, maintained and shared on the Internet. However, a large quantity of heterogeneous software resources have not been organized in a reasonable and efficient way. Software feature is an ideal material to characterize software resources. The effectiveness of feature- related tasks will be greatly improved, if a multi-grained feature repository is available. In this paper, we propose a novel approach for organizing, analyzing and recommend- ing software features. Firstly, we construct a Hierarchical rEpository of Software feAture (HESA). Then, we mine the hidden affnities among the features and recommend relevant and high-quality features to stakeholders based on HESA. Finally, we conduct a user study to evaluate our approach quantitatively. The results show that HESA can organize software features in a more reasonable way compared to the traditional and the state-of-the-art approaches. The result of feature recommendation is effective and interesting. Nowadays, the demand for software resources on different granularity is becoming prominent in software engineering field. However, a large quantity of heterogeneous software resources have not been organized in a reasonable and efficient way. Software features, a kind of important knowledge for software reuse, are ideal materials to characterize software resources. Our preliminary study shows that the effectiveness of feature-related tasks, such as software resource retrieval and feature location, will be greatly improved, if a multi-grained feature repository is available. In this paper, we construct a Hierarchical rEpository of Software feAture (HESA), in which a novel hierarchical clustering approach is proposed. For a given domain, we first aggregate a large number of feature descriptions from multiple online software repositories. Then we cluster these descriptions into a flexible hierarchy by mining their hidden semantic structures. Finally, we implement an online search engine on HESA and conduct a user study to evaluate our approach quantitatively. The results show that HESA can organize software features in a more reasonable way compared to the classic and the state-of-the-art approaches. For its perception of unlimited resources and infinite scalability, Cloud Computing has emerged as a pervasive paradigm for hosting? data-centric applications in large computing infrastructures. The data produced by these applications are essentially sparse and wide and may change schema frequently, traditional relational data model is inappropriate for their data management. A new data model, called Sparse Wide Table, was introduced for this task. Unfortunately, we have to face many challenges in building the secondary index for Sparse Wide Table in cloud, as the distributed and column-oriented storage which eliminates a number of NULLs. In this study, we present a three-level index scheme for efficient data processing in the Cloud. Our approach can be summarized as follows. First, we build an index for each column by which the records can be rebuilt easily. Second, we build a bitmap index for each storage node which only indexes the data residing on the node. Third, we organize the storage nodes as a structured overlay and each node maintains a portion of the global index for the all different data. The global index is a bitmap index to indicate the node each data resides in. Finally, based on the three-level index scheme, some query algorithms are implemented. We conduct extensive experiments on a LAN and the results demonstrate that our indexing scheme is dynamic, efficient and scalable. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is an efficient dimension reduction method and plays an important role in many pattern recognition and computer vision tasks. However, conventional NMF methods are not robust since the objective functions are sensitive to outliers and do not consider the geometric structure in datasets. In this paper, we proposed a correntropy graph regularized NMF (CGNMF) to overcome the aforementioned problems. CGNMF maximizes the correntropy between data matrix and its reconstruction to filter out the noises of large magnitudes, and expects the coefficients to preserve the intrinsic geometric structure of data. We also proposed a modified version of our CGNMF which construct the adjacent graph by using sparse representation to enhance its reliability. Experimental results on popular image datasets confirm the effectiveness of CGNMF.

A distributed algorithm for SI transactions serializability in cloud computing

There are well known anomalies permitted by snapshot isolation that can lead to violations of data consistency by interleaving transactions that individually maintain consistency. Until now, there are some ways to prevent these anomalies only in single computer and there are not the corresponding solving methods in cloud computing. This paper describes our PDCC algorithm to detect cycles in a snapshot isolation dependency graph and abort transactions to break the cycle in cloud computing. The algorithm ensures serializable executions for SI transactions in cloud computing. Based on the transaction concurrency control of Percolator, we have implemented our algorithm in an open source cloud database system (HBase) and our performance study shows that PDCC throughput and scalability are good. © 2013 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) is a key technology extensively applied in many fields, such as transportation, health-care and environment monitoring. Despite rapid development, the exponentially increasing data emanating from WSN is not efficiently stored and used. Besides, the data from multiple different types and locations of WSN needs to be well analyzed, fused and supplied to various types of clients, such as PC, workstation and smart phone. The emerging cloud computing technology provides scalable data process and storage power and some types of connectable services, which can helpfully utilize sensor data from WSN. In this paper, we propose an integration framework of cloud computing with WSN, in which sensor data is transmitted from WSN to cloud, and processed and stored in cloud, then mined and analyzed so as to be supplied to various clients. By applying virtualization and cloud storage technology, and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) of cloud service model, the framework can fully process and store mass sensor data from multiple types of WSN. Besides, it efficiently mines and analyzes sensor data, based on which the data applications are well supplied to various types of clients in form of services. © 2013 Springer science+Business Media.

General purpose GPU's (GPGPU) appearance made it possible that heterogeneous computing can be used by human beings. And it's also produce a reform for GPU's general purpose computing and parallel computing. Heterogeneous Systems has been adopted by large-scale of high-performance computers. Nowadays, fault tolerance technique is necessary among these large-scale kinds of scientific computing, but in a few years of GPGPU and heterogeneous system appearance, there is not an effective fault tolerance method come out, therefore, towards this situation, this paper will apply the traditional fault tolerance technique - application-level checkpointing to heterogeneous system. Cause the main solution of reducing overhead of the application-level checkpointing is reducing checkpoint data size, so after analyzing the heterogeneous system and GPGPU program, we propose a method to optimize the data storage of application-level checkpointing technique and validate its optimization by experiments. © 2013 IEEE.

Link partition clusters edges of a complex network to discover its overlapping communities. Due to Its effectiveness, link partition has attracted much attentions from the network science community. However, since link partition assigns each edge of a network to unique community, it cannot detect the disjoint communities. To overcome this deficiency, this paper proposes a link partition on asymmetric weighted graph (LPAWG) method for detecting overlapping communities. Particularly, LPAWG divides each edge into two parts to distinguish the roles of connected nodes. This strategy biases edges to a specific node and helps assigning each node to its affiliated community. Since LPAWG introduces more edges than those in the original network, it cannot efficiently detect communities from some networks with relative large amount of edges. We therefore aggregate the line graph of LPAWG to shrink its scale. Experimental results of community detection on both synthetic datasets and the realworld networks show the effectiveness of LPAWG comparing with the representative methods.

Hi-GAL is a large-scale survey of the Galactic plane, performed with Herschel in five infrared continuum bands between 70 and 500 µm. We present a band-merged catalogue of spatially matched sources and their properties derived from fits to the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) and heliocentric distances, based on the photometric catalogs presented in Molinari et al. (2016a), covering the portion of Galactic plane −71.0◦ 67.0◦. The band-merged catalogue contains 100922 sources with a regular SED, 24584 of which show a 70 µm counterpart and are thus considered proto-stellar, while the remainder are considered starless. Thanks to this huge number of sources, we are able to carry out a preliminary analysis of early stages of star formation, identifying the conditions that characterise different evolutionary phases on a statistically significant basis. We calculate surface densities to investigate the gravitational stability of clumps and their potential to form massive stars. We also explore evolutionary status metrics such as the dust temperature, luminosity and bolometric temperature, finding that these are higher in proto-stellar sources compared to pre-stellar ones. The surface density of sources follows an increasing trend as they evolve from pre-stellar to proto-stellar, but then it is found to decrease again in the majority of the most evolved clumps. Finally, we study the physical parameters of sources with respect to Galactic longitude and the association with spiral arms, finding only minor or no differences between the average evolutionary status of sources in the fourth and first Galactic quadrants, or between "on-arm" and "inter-arm" positions.
