Comprehensive metabolic profiling of dioxin-like compounds exposure in laying hens:Implications for toxicity assessment

The evaluation of toxicity related to polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans(PCDD/Fs)and dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls(DL-PCBs)is crucial for a comprehensive risk assessment in real-world exposure *** study employed a controlled feeding experiment to investigate the metabolic effects of dioxin-like compounds(DLCs)on laying hens via feed *** enriched with two concentrations(1.17 and 5.13 pg toxic equivalents(TEQ)/g dry weight(dw))were administered over 14 days,followed by 28 days of clean *** analyses of blood samples revealed significant metabolic variations between PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs exposed groups and controls,reflecting the induced metabolic *** changes were observed in sphingosine,palmitoleic acid,linoleate,linolenic acid,taurocholic acid,indole acrylic acid,and dibutyl phthalate levels,implying possible connections between PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs toxic effects and energy-neuronal imbalances,along with lipid accumulation and anomalous amino acid metabolism,impacting taurine ***,we identified three differential endogenous metabolites—L-tryptophan,indole-3-acetaldehyde,and indole acrylic acid—as potential ligands for the aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR),suggesting their role inmediating PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs *** comprehensive investigation provides novel insights into the metabolic alterations induced by PCDD/Fs and DL-PCBs in laying hens,thereby enhancing our ability to assess risks associated with their exposure in human populations.

The visual recognition of sheet metal parts is a crucial component of industrial automation sorting, particularly under complex lighting and background interference conditions. To enhance the accuracy of sheet metal part recognition, this paper curates a dataset of sheet metal parts acquired by an intelligent light field image sensor and proposes a visual recognition model, PA-CBAM, based on an improved Mask R-CNN. By improving the original feature pyramid FPN and introducing the Convolutional Block Attention Module (CBAM), the model enhances multi-scale feature fusion and the focus on key features: (1) Bottom up paths and shortcut connections have been added between different layers of the traditional FPN feature pyramid, thereby improving multi-scale object detection capability. (2) CBAM further optimizes the model's channel and spatial attention mechanisms, effectively enhancing the capture of edge details and the suppression of background noise. Experimental results show that the proposed PA-CBAM model significantly improves detection and segmentation performance compared to traditional methods, particularly in terms of edge recognition accuracy for sheet metal parts under complex lighting conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

In this work,an adaptive sampling control strategy for distributed predictive control is *** to the proposed method,the sampling rate of each subsystem of the accused object is determined based on the periodic detection of its dynamic behavior and calculations made using a correlation ***,the optimal sampling interval within the period is obtained and sent to the corresponding sub-prediction controller,and the sampling interval of the controller is changed accordingly before the next sampling period *** the next control period,the adaptive sampling mechanism recalculates the sampling rate of each subsystem’s measurable output variable according to both the abovementioned method and the change in the dynamic behavior of the entire system,and this process is *** an adaptive sampling interval selection based on an autocorrelation function that measures dynamic behavior can dynamically optimize the selection of sampling rate according to the real-time change in the dynamic behavior of the controlled *** can also accurately capture dynamic changes,meaning that each sub-prediction controller can more accurately calculate the optimal control quantity at the next moment,significantly improving the performance of distributed model predictive control(DMPC).A comparison demonstrates that the proposed adaptive sampling DMPC algorithm has better tracking performance than the traditional DMPC algorithm.

The Copper (Cu) - Titanium (Ti) powders with varying of Ti content(0.3, 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 wt.%) were mixed using a horizontal ball milling. The milling process was performed for 6 hrs at 300 rpm. The Cu-Ti composites were fabricated by a spark plasma sintering process at a sintering temperature of 850℃ and heating rate of 30 ℃/min under a pressure of 40 MPa. The relative density of the composites was all densified to more than 99%. The Cu and Ti in the Cu matrix are unstable to exist in a single phase at temperature range of 800-875°C and a Ti content of 4-8 at.% (3.04-6.15 wt.%). Thus, each element is stabilized by forming a secondary phase. The phase of Cu3Ti was detected upon the Ti content was 4 wt.% or higher, which affected the thermal properties. The thermal conductivity decreased from 262.74 to 46.10 W/m·K according to increase the Ti contents. The Ti present in the heat transfer path in Cu matrix acted as an obstacle to heat diffusion. Furthermore, as the Ti contents increased, the Vickers hardness of Cu-Ti composite increased from 60.19 to 205.20 kg/mm2. In contrast, the crystallite size decreased from 66.63 to 22.43 nm. The Ti particles suppressed the grain growth of the Cu matrix, resulting in a decrease in crystallite size, which contributed to the improvement of the mechanical properties. ©2025 Japan Society of Powder and Powder Metallurgy.

This work presents an adaptive tracking guidance method for robotic fishes. The scheme enables robots to suppress external interference and eliminate motion jitter. An adaptive integral surge line-of-sight guidance rule is designed to eliminate dynamics interference and sideslip issues. Limited-time yaw and surge speed observers are reported to fit disturbance variables in the model. The approximation values can compensate for the system's control input and improve the robots' tracking ***, this work develops a terminal sliding mode controller and third-order differential processor to determine the rotational torque and reduce the robots' run jitter. Then, Lyapunov's theory proves the uniform ultimate boundedness of the proposed method. Simulation and physical experiments confirm that the technology improves the tracking error convergence speed and stability of robotic fishes.

Ro-Ro ships can roll-on or roll-off cargo with self-driving power such as passenger cars and trucks, and container cargo on transport devices such as trucks or trailers on a ramp. The representative types of Ro-Ro ships are PCC (Pure Car Carrier) and PTCT (Pure Car & Truck Carrier). Ro-Ro ship is configured to load as many cargoes as possible by dividing the cargo hold into multiple card decks up and down. It is necessary to adjust the height of the car deck according to the type of vehicle being loaded. For this purpose, a number of fillers are installed on the inner deck of the Ro-Ro ship. In other words, to load high cargo such as heavy equipment on the car deck, the height between the decks must be high. At this time, the liftable car deck is adjusted using the deck lifter installed on the pillar. Existing liftable car deck structures are made of a single large plate, so it takes a lot of time and money to install and dismantle them. In this study, a hinge-type liftable car deck was designed. In addition, the overall structural integrity including the hinge was evaluated through structural analysis in accordance with the classification regulations. © 2023 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

In steel industry, variations in the manufacturing process cause various defects in products. Thus, it is important to forecast the instance of defects in real time. However, ordinary probability models are not adequate enough to describe the observed defect count data due to the nonnegative integers characteristics, high imbalanced distribution, and overdispersion. To explicitly account for these distinctive characteristics, the present work proposes an online quality forecast system developed on the lognormal and Gamma mixed negative binomial (LGNB) model. LGNB incorporates the lognormal and Gamma distributions to account for the random effect and dispersion in the data. In addition, the drawbacks of the ordinary negative binomial (NB) model such as low robustness and biased parameter estimation against data with large dispersion are conquered by the LGNB model. The efficacy of the LGNB model was validated via its application to the defect data of an ironmaking plant. The results show that the LGNB model improves the forecast accuracy as compared to the PLS, Poisson, and NB models, respectively. © 2021 IEEE.

In this study, the influence of charge asymmetry on the forming and deflection characteristics of EFP is studied. The laser high-speed photography photos of asymmetric EFP were taken at typical moments. By establishing a geometric model based on the Lagrangian-Eulerian (ALE) algorithm, the effects of the coaxial deviation between the charge and the liner, the angle of charge with the liner and projectile axis, and the distance between the charge axis and the projectile axis on the EFP forming were *** the case of asymmetric charge, the propagation of detonation wave will be asymmetric, which will act on the liner to crush the forming asymmetry, thus leading to the asymmetry of EFP formation. The velocity and compactness of EFP decrease with the increase of the coaxial deviation between the charge and the liner, the angle between the charge with the liner and the projectile axis and the distance between the charge axis and the projectile axis, but the deflection angle and the length-diameter ratio increase with the increase. The order of the factors affecting the asymmetry of EFP forming caused by the asymmetry of the charge is the coaxial deviation between the charge and the liner > the angle between the charge with the liner and the projectile >the distance between the charge axis and the projectile axis. With the development of the modern process industry, accurate anomaly detection methods are increasingly needed. However, identifying anomalies from high-dimensional data continues to be a challenge for the process industry. In this work, a feature masked autoencoder (FMAE) method is proposed to meet this challenge. As a masked-reconstruction task, a high mask rate is first adopted to mask the feature of data. Then, the intrinsic information of unmasked features is extracted through the encoder and masked features are recovered through the decoder. This task forces the intrinsic information learned by the model to increase while alleviating the high-dimensional problem. Additionally, anomaly tends to be reconstructed to a normal by FMAE because only normal data is used for training. Thus, anomalies are detected and localized by computing input-output residuals. Finally, the effectiveness of the model is verified on the Lublin Sugar Factory dataset.
