作者: Anijo Punnen Mathew Kim Erwin Assistant Professor at IIT Institute of Design in Chicago. His research looks at evaluating new semantic appropriations of place as enabled by technology and media convergence. He also helps companies to adapt and change to the information economy through the use of design methodology and theory. Prof. Mathew has a PhD in Computing from the Open University in the U.K. Master of Design Studies (MDesS) from Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and a professional Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra Ranchi (India). He has over 60 publications in international conferences and journals and has consulted with clients such as City of Chicago Accenture Hyatt Hong Kong Design Centre Chicago Tribune Motorola Mobility Godrej & Boyce and the Chicago Architecture Foundation. His projects have been exhibited at the National Museum of Mexican Art the Old Town School of Folk Music Chicago's City Hall and Cultural Center. Assistant Professor at IIT Institute of Design in Chicago with research interests in analytic and communication methods for design. She is the author of the newly‐released Communicating the New: methods to shape and accelerate innovation which focuses on the role of communication in helping teams explore create and diffuse critical knowledge inside organizations. Before coming to the ID Erwin spent 15 years in industry in design strategy and research for clients as diverse as Purina Texas Instruments Motorola Alamo and Church & Dwight.
