Reinforcement learning (RL) aims to formulate the recommendation task as a Markov decision process (MDP) and trains an agent to automatically learn the optimal recommendation policy from interaction trajectories through trial-and-error and reward mechanisms. However, most existing RL-based approaches overlook the correlation between items and the dynamics of user interests implied in temporally close interactions. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a reinforcement learning method that incorporates a "recent-k items"distribution to capture users' local preferences. Specifically, we model the output layer as two distinct branches. The "recent-k items"branch, formulated with a Kullback-Leibler divergence loss, learns the recent interests of users, whereas the other branch utilizes a one-step temporal difference error to capture long-term preferences. The proposed structure is integrated into deep Q-learning and actor-critics, resulting in two enhanced methods named R k Q and R k AC, respectively. Furthermore, a novel soft inter-reward is carefully designed to enhance the proposed method, and we theoretically prove the convergence of the proposed algorithm. We perform extensive experiments on two large real-world datasets and conduct further analysis of the influences of different action sequences, time intervals, and enhancement capabilities for state-of-the-art models. The experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed methods. © 1999-2012 IEEE.

Hyperspectral super-resolution involves combining low-resolution hyperspectral images with high-resolution multispectral images to produce a high-resolution hyperspectral image. Recently, although many methods for hyperspectral image super-resolution have been proposed, they often fail to fully utilize the high similarity among adjacent bands to enhance fusion performance. Therefore, we propose a grouping strategy-based progressive fusion network (GPFNet) for hyperspectral super-resolution. The core of GPFNet is the grouping strategy fusion block (GPF block), in which grouping-based spatial-spectral information fusion and spatial information refinement are performed. We design the spatial-spectral information fusion module (SSIFM) based on grouped convolutions to capture the feature differences from adjacent bands. To refine spatial details, we develop the spatial information enhancement module (SpaEM), which leverages the hierarchical features extracted by the multi-scale feature extraction module (MIEM). Additionally, a progressive fusion strategy, which involves using multiple upsampled hyperspectral images and downsampled multispectral images, further preserves spectral integrity and spatial details. Extensive experiments show that GPFNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods both qualitatively and quantitatively.

Graph attention based on contextual reasoning and emotion-shift awareness for emotion recognition in conversations

Emotion recognition in conversations has recently emerged as a hot research topic owing to its increasingly important role in developing intelligent empathy services. Thoroughly exploring the conversational context and accurately capturing emotion-shift information are highly crucial for accurate emotion recognition in conversations. However, existing studies generally failed to fully understand the complex conversational context due to their insufficient capabilities in extracting and integrating emotional cues. Moreover, they mainly focused on the speaker’s emotion inertia while paying less attention to explore multi-perspective emotion-shift patterns. To address these limitations, this study proposes a novel multimodal approach, namely, GAT-CRESA (Graph ATtention based on Contextual Reasoning and Emotion-Shift Awareness). Specifically, the multi-turn global contextual reasoning module iteratively performs contextual perception and cognitive reasoning for efficiently understanding the global conversational context. Then, GAT-CRESA explores emotion-shift information among utterances from both the speaker-dependent and the global context-based perspectives. Next, the emotion-shift awareness graphs are constructed for extracting significant local-level conversational context, where edge relations are determined by the learnt emotion-shift labels. Finally, the outputs of graphs are concatenated for final emotion recognition. The loss of emotion prediction task is combined together with those of two perspective’s emotion-shift learning for guiding the training process. Experimental results show that our GAT-CRESA achieves new state-of-art records with 72.77% ACC and 72.81% wa-F1 on IEMOCAP, and 65.44% ACC and 65.04% wa-F1 on MELD, respectively. The ablation results also indicate the effectiveness and rationality of each component in our approach.

With the recent advancements in single-image-based 3D human pose and shape estimation (3DHPSE), there is a growing amount of works that can achieve good results on standard benchmarks but struggle to yield accurate hu-man mesh in extreme scenarios like occlusion. Previous works propose to leverage 2D poses to help 3D HPSE model improve performance under occlusion, but usually rely on manual design to integrate 2D poses and only aim for specific kinds of occlusion. In this paper, we present PostoMETRO (Pose token enhanced MEsh TRansfOrmer), which integrates 2D pose prior knowledge as tokens into transformers to improve model's performance under occlusion. Using a VQ- VAE-based pose tokenizer; we efficiently represent 2D poses as tokens andfeed them to transformers together with image tokens. Subsequently, these tokens are queried by vertex andJoint tokens to decode 3D coordinates of mesh vertices and human Joints. Our proposed 2D poses integration strategy is manual-design-free and suitable for various kinds of occlusion. This paper investigates an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)-assisted semantic communication network. The energy-limited ground users (GUs) provide semantic services to periodically generated raw data and a UAV relays the extracted semantic information to a base station (BS). Semantic extraction enhances data responsiveness and reduces the age-of-information (AoI) by transmitting only the most essential information. However, more complex semantic extraction increases energy consumption, making it easier for the GUs to deplete their energy. Therefore, we introduce a novel energy-efficient AoI (EAoI) metric to capture both information freshness and energy consumption of the GUs. We formulate a time-averaged EAoI minimization problem by jointly optimizing the GUs' scheduling, pre-extraction strategy, semantic control, computing resource allocation, and the UAV's trajectory. We further propose a semantic-aware joint pre-extraction and trajectory planning (Sem-JPT) algorithm to decompose the complex optimization problem into three subproblems, which are solved by a series of approximation methods. Simulation results demonstrate that semantic communication can reduce the overall EAoI by more than 18% compared with conventional bit-based communication. Moreover, the proposed Sem-JPT algorithm can maintain information freshness and prolong the GUs' lifetimes, outperforming existing baselines.

SELF-SUPERVISED DIFFUSION MRI DENOISING VIA ITERATIVE AND STABLE REFINEMENT

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), including diffusion MRI (dMRI), serves as a "microscope" for anatomical structures and routinely mitigates the influence of low signal-to-noise ratio scans by compromising temporal or spatial resolution. However, these compromises fail to meet clinical demands for both efficiency and precision. Consequently, denoising is a vital preprocessing step, particularly for dMRI, where clean data is unavailable. In this paper, we introduce Di-Fusion, a fully self-supervised denoising method that leverages the latter diffusion steps and an adaptive sampling process. Unlike previous approaches, our single-stage framework achieves efficient and stable training without extra noise model training and offers adaptive and controllable results in the sampling process. Our thorough experiments on real and simulated data demonstrate that Di-Fusion achieves state-of-the-art performance in microstructure modeling, tractography tracking, and other downstream tasks. The "one-bill coverage" of China-Laos railway multimodal transport is an effective way to promote the growth of bilateral trade between China and Laos railways, and it is an inevitable requirement for the construction of a modern comprehensive transport system. In order to enhance the efficiency and economic benefits of cargo transport on China-Laos Railway, this paper combines the current situation of freight transport on China-Laos Railway and divides the life cycle of "one-bill coverage" of China-Laos Railway multimodal transport into five phases: order submission, domestic consolidation, cross-border transport, foreign evacuation and order signing, etc., and builds a "one-bill coverage" covering all the links, such as loading, transport, transshipment, warehousing, connecting, and customs clearance. CESFusion: Cross-Frequency Enhanced Spatial-Spectral Fusion Network for Hyperspectral and Multispectral Image Fusion

The fusion of hyperspectral and multispectral images involves integrating high spectral resolution hyperspectral image (HSI) and high spatial resolution multispectral image (MSI) to generate a HSI with high spatial and spectral resolution (HR-HSI). Existing HSI-MSI fusion methods primarily focus on information fusion within the spatial domain;however, few solutions have explored the employment of frequency analysis to enhance spatial resolution, limiting their capability for global perception. In this paper, we propose an efficient and novel paradigm for HSI-MSI fusion through the cross-frequency enhanced spatial-spectral fusion network, named CESFusion, exploring the complementary fusion of information between the spatial and frequency domains. Specifically, we first present the cross-frequency domain fusion module (CFFM) to perform global analysis through the Fourier transform and effectively integrate and enhance the frequency domain information from both HSI and MSI. Subsequently, we propose the spectral modeling module (SpeMM) based on state space model (SMM) to capture long-range spectral dependencies with linear complexity, and integrate it with the spatial residual block-based module (SRM) for joint spatial-spectral feature extraction. Finally, to enable sufficient interaction between the spatial and frequency domains, we adopt the cross-domain interaction module (CDIM), capturing and integrating complementary information from both domains. Moreover, a frequency-based loss function is purposely designed to further improve the restoration of global information. Extensive experiments conducted on both synthetic and real datasets demonstrate the superiority of our CESFusion, as evidenced by both quantitative and qualitative evaluation results. © 2025 IEEE.

As an affordable and convenient eye scan, fundus photography holds the potential for preventing vision impairment, especially in resource-limited regions. However, fundus image degradation is common under intricate imaging environments, impacting following diagnosis and treatment. Consequently, image quality assessment (IQA) and enhancement (IQE) are essential for ensuring the clinical value and reliability of fundus images. While existing reviews offer some overview of this field, a comprehensive analysis of the interplay between IQA and IQE, along with their clinical deployment challenges, is lacking. This paper addresses this gap by providing a thorough review of fundus IQA and IQE algorithms, research advancements, and practical applications. We outline the fundamentals of the fundus photography imaging system and the associated interferences, and then systematically summarize the paradigms in fundus IQA and IQE. Furthermore, we discuss the practical challenges and solutions in deploying IQA and IQE, as well as offer insights into potential future research directions. Copyright © 2025, The Authors.
