Multimodal dialogue emotion recognition integrates data from multiple modalities to accurately identify emotional states in conversations. However, differences in expression and information density across modalities complicate the fusion of features. Traditional methods may introduce redundant information from other utterances, reducing the accuracy of emotion recognition. Existing one-hot labels often fail to capture the full range of emotional expressions, leading to biased results. To address these issues, we propose a model that fuses different modalities within the same utterance to avoid redundancy. It employs a progressive classification process, refining emotion recognition from coarse to fine granularity. Additionally, we use emotion polarity probabilities as weights for fine-grained classification and introduce a multimodal information-rich label that considers both the data and their interactions. Experiments on IEMOCAP and MELD datasets demonstrate the model’s effectiveness, significantly improving dialog emotion recognition accuracy. Our code is available at https://***/r/LOCG-188E.

Machine-learning-based detection for quantum hacking attacks on continuous-variable quantum-key-distribution systems

Continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CVQKD) is a mature technology that can theoretically provide an unconditional security guarantee. However, a practical CVQKD system may be vulnerable to various quantum hacking attacks due to imperfect devices and insufficient assumptions. In this paper, we propose a universal defense strategy called a machine-learning-based attack detection scheme (MADS). Leveraging the combined advantages of density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) and multiclass support vector machines (MCSVMs), MADS demonstrates remarkable effectiveness in detecting quantum hacking attacks. Specifically, we first establish a set of attack-related features to extract feature vectors. These vectors are then utilized as input data for DBSCAN to identify and remove any noise or outliers. Finally, the trained MCSVMs are employed to classify and predict the processed data. The predicted results can immediately determine whether or not to generate a final secret key. Simulation results show that the proposed MADS can efficiently detect most quantum hacking attacks and revise the overestimated secret key rates caused by a CVQKD system without any defense strategy to obtain a tighter security bound.

In this paper comparison of 5th order equal-ripple low pass filter (LPF) integrated with and without defected ground structure (DGS) is presented. The filter is placed over Rogers RO4003 substrate having a thickness of 0.508 mm and a dielectric constant of 3.55. Simulations are carried out in ANSYS HFSS and simulation results are presented. In both cases, a bandwidth of 2.9 GHz is achieved with insertion and return loss better than 0.5 dB and 15dB, respectively. It is found that the filter size can be sufficiently reduced by applying DGS without affecting the overall performance of the LPF filter. The overall size of the filter without DGS is found to be 59.0 mm × 22.5 mm, whereas for the LPF with DGS the overall size is 35.5 mm × 12.03mm, leading to a significant size reduction of 32% less. Furthermore, by utilizing DGS the out-of-band rejection is also improved. © 2022 IEEE.

Prediction Enhancement for Point Cloud Attribute Compression using Smoothing Filter

In recent years, 3D point cloud compression (PCC) has emerged as a prominent research area, attracting widespread attention from both academia and industry. As one of the PCC standards released by the moving picture expert group (MPEG), the geometry-based PCC (G-PCC) adopts two attribute lossy coding schemes, namely the prediction-based Lifting Transform and the region adaptive hierarchical transform (RAHT). Based on statistical analysis, it can be observed that the increase in predictive distance gradually weakens the attribute correlation between points, resulting in larger prediction errors. To address this issue, we propose a prediction enhancement method by using the smoothing filter to improve the attribute coding efficiency, which is both integrated into the Lifting Transform and RAHT. For the former, the neighbor point smoothing method based on the prediction order is proposed via a weighted average strategy. The proposed smoothing is only applied to points in the lower level of details (LoDs) by adjusting the distance-based predicted attribute values. For the latter, we design a neighbor node smoothing method after the inter depth up-samping (IDUS) prediction, where the sub-nodes in the same unit node are filtered for lower levels. Experimental results have demonstrated that compared with two latest MPEG G-PCC reference software TMC13-v23.0 and GeSTM-v3.0, our proposed enhanced prediction method exhibits superior Bjontegaard delta bit rate (BDBR) gains with small increase in time complexity. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Decision support systems have been widely applied in various sectors in which a vast of models and algorithms have been researched and developed based on knowledge graphs. Recently, Fuzzy Knowledge Graph (FKG) has overcome the challenge of handling uncertain, incomplete input data in decision support systems;yet still its performance could be improved through the integration of multiple data sources. This paper proposes a novel conceptual framework of FKG called FKGF based on multiple data sources. With the rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT), efficient and reliable massive IoT device connections need to be widely supported in the upcoming next-generation communication networks, especially for emerging high-mobility scenarios. In this context, this paper investigates massive grant-free random access (GF-RA) in high mobility scenarios, focusing on active device detection (ADD) and channel estimation (CE) under fast time-varying channels. By exploiting the inherent low-rank structure of the observed pilot-signal-tensor, a tensor-based GF-RA transmission scheme is provided. On this basis, we propose a joint ADD and CE method based on the canonical polyadic (CP) model for both sourced and unsourced RA frameworks. More specifically, by remodelling the observation signal as a third-order tensor, the channel parameters can be grouped in the factor matrices of the CP model. However, the excessive number of potential device connections in massive GF-RA scenarios lead to excessively large dimensions of the factor matrices, thus resulting in severe ill-condition. To solve this problem, the Vandermonde structure of factor matrices is developed, which enables the effective exploitation of the tensor subspace for CP decomposition. Then, by utilizing the pre-allocated training precoders, an effective two-dimensional search method is proposed to jointly detect active devices and initialize the iterative estimation of channel parameters. Finally, due to the grouping situation, independent and coupled channel parameters are estimated by appropriate methods based on maximum likelihood (ML) and iterative updating, respectively. Moreover, the pre-allocation of training precoders can be unified to the unsourced RA scenarios, where the joint ADD and CE can be regard as a simple degenerate method compared to sourced RA. Privacy-Preserving Location Information Fusion for Secure Localization in Cyber-Physical Social Systems: A Case of Consumer's Trustworthy Personalized Recommendation

Cyber-physical social systems (CPSS) have developed significantly in the last decade as a result of their effective computing and communication capabilities. Security and safety concerns, yet continue to be the biggest obstacle to the wider acceptance of CPSS in spite of all technological developments. In this work, we investigate the problem of secure localization of roaming users along with preserving their privacy in CPSS through location information fusion. We present a novel idea of privacy preserving location information fusion based on linear combination aggregation and extend it for its use in CPSS ensuring the privacy of anchor's locations and dimensions, and target's location while roaming in CPSS environment. Furthermore, a privacy-preserving secure localization scheme is offered, together with the necessary cryptographic support to ensure the ultimate aim of privacy. In CPSS contexts where real-time location information is crucial for participant's safety, the proposed privacy-preserving secure localization scheme can be implemented. The proposed scheme is assessed through the implementation of a trustworthy personalized consumer recommendation system. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can guarantee high recommendation accuracy and achieve the accuracy and diversity of personalized recommendations under varying recommendation list lengths when compared to other reliable methods for personalized consumer recommendations. © 1975-2011 IEEE.
