A low cost and low profile $2\times 2$ Vivaldi array antenna is designed and developed to observe and detect the 1.42 GHz hydrogen line emission from the space. Firstly, the single element of Vivaldi antenna is designed at operating frequency of 1.42 GHz which obtains the directional pattern with the average gain around 4 dBi. To achieve high gain and decrease HPBW, the $2\times 2$ Vivaldi array antenna is introduced and each element receives signal through 1 to 4 Wilkinson power divider. The proposed array antenna obtains 60 deg-HPBW with low side lobe level. Moreover, the average gain is around 9.5 dBi for measurement with the clear properties of linear polarization. Finally, the proposed Vivaldi array antenna is going to apply and employ as receiver for hydrogen line spectrum and also weather radar application.

The application of ameliorative datasets to foretell chronic diseases has grasped considerable attention amongst data scientists all around the globe. Transport Layer Security (TLS) is the standard protocol widely used for securing client-server communications over the Internet. It ensures the confidentiality and integrity of data transmitted between systems. With the rising deployment of TLS 1.3, which is the latest version of the protocol, stronger encryption and improved security features are introduced. The adoption of TLS 1.3 brings about the need for techniques such as TLS fingerprinting. TLS fingerprinting involves analyzing the unique characteristics of TLS handshakes to identify and classify different implementations or configurations of TLS. However, researchers currently lack a dedicated platform to test TLS and TLS fingerprinting techniques in a controlled environment. To address this gap, we aim to enhance NeST (Network Stack Tester) by adding support for TLS and TLS fingerprinting. NeST is a Python tool for network emulation that internally uses Linux network namespaces and Linux utilities to create virtual testbeds, perform experiments using various network protocols and collect statistics. By integrating TLS and TLS fingerprinting into NeST, we provide an easy-to-use tool that enables researchers to experiment with TLS, analyze TLS traffic, and evaluate the effectiveness of TLS fingerprinting techniques.

With current and future leading systems adopting heterogeneous architectures, adapting existing models for heterogeneous supercomputers is of urgent need for improving model resolution and reducing modeling uncertainty. This paper presents our three-week effort on porting a complex earth system model, CESM 2.2, to a 40-million-core Sunway supercomputer. Taking a non-intrusive approach that tries to minimizes manual code modifications, our project tries to achieve both improvement of performance and consistency of the model code. By using a hierarchical grid system and an OpenMP-based offloading toolkit, our porting and parallelization effort covers over 80% of the code, and achieves a simulation speed of 340 SDPD (simulated days per day) for 5-km atmosphere, 265 SDPD for 3-km ocean, and 222 SDPD for a coupled model, thus making multi-year or even multi-decadal experiments at such high resolution possible. The emergence of demanding space applications has modified the traditional landscape of computing systems in space. When reliability is a first-class concern, in addition to enhanced performance-per-Watt, radiation-hardened FPGAs are favored. In this context, the current paper evaluates the first European radiation-hardened SoC FPGA, i.e., NanoXplore's NG-ULTRA, for accelerating high-performance DSP algorithms from space applications. The proposed development & testing methodologies provide efficient implementations, while they also aim to test the new NG-ULTRA hardware and its associated software tools. The results show that NG-ULTRA achieves competitive resource utilization and performance, constituting it as a very promising device for space missions, especially for Europe.

The accumulation and deposition of amyloid can cause a variety of neurodegenerative diseases,including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s *** degradation or clearance of this accumulation is currently the most widely accepted therapeutic strategy for intervention in these *** study on amyloid-β(Aβ)oligomers in vitro revealed that high-frequency terahertz(THz)waves at a specific frequency of 34.88 THz could serve as a physical,efficient,non-thermal denaturation technique to delay the fibrotic process by 80%,as monitored by a thioflavine T(ThT)binding assay and Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)***,THz waves of this frequency have been shown to have no side effects on normal cells,as confirmed by cell viability and mitochondrial membrane potential ***,molecular dynamic(MD)simulations revealed that the THz waves could resonate with Aβ fibrils,disrupting the dense conformation by breaking the β-sheet structure and promoting the formation of abundant coil and bend *** study uses the amyloid of Aβ as an example,and the results will further guide interventions for the accumulation of other amyloids,which may provide new ideas for the remission of related diseases.

Modern deep learning continues to achieve outstanding performance on an astounding variety of high-dimensional tasks. In practice, this is obtained by fitting deep neural models to all the input data with minimal feature engineering, thus sacrificing interpretability in many cases. However, in applications such as medicine, where interpretability is crucial, feature subset selection becomes an important problem. Metaheuristics such as Binary Differential Evolution are a popular approach to feature selection, and the research literature continues to introduce novel ideas, drawn from quantum computing and chaos theory, for instance, to improve them. In this paper, we demonstrate that introducing chaos-generated variables, generated from considerations of the Lyapunov time, in place of random variables in quantum-inspired metaheuristics significantly improves their performance on high-dimensional medical classification tasks and outperforms other approaches. We show that this chaos-induced improvement is a general phenomenon by demonstrating it for multiple varieties of underlying quantum-inspired metaheuristics. Performance is further enhanced through Lasso-assisted feature pruning. Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) have become indispensable for organizations seeking secure remote network access, with a significant rise in their adoption. While the COVID-19 pandemic initially fueled the surge in remote work and VPN usage, the trend has continued post-pandemic as organizations increasingly opt for hybrid work models. VPNs allow users to establish secure connections to their organization’s network from any location, ensuring the confidentiality of transmitted data. Moreover, VPN bonding, which combines multiple VPN connections into a unified interface, improves performance and reliability, particularly in areas with limited Internet connectivity. As the usage of VPN and VPN bonding technologies continues to expand, a growing demand arises for research in this field, and consequently, the need for robust emulators and simulators. However, existing network emulators or simulators currently lack comprehensive support for VPN-related technologies. To address these limitations, this paper aims to develop intuitive and user-friendly Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for emulating VPN and VPN bonding in Network Stack Tester (NeST), a powerful Python package designed to facilitate network emulation for experienced researchers and individuals new to the field. This work utilizes OpenVPN, a secure tunneling daemon, to integrate the support of VPN emulation in NeST. By augmenting the capabilities of NeST, this work intends to provide researchers with a valuable toolset for exploring and testing VPN and VPN bonding technologies across diverse network environments.
