The wireless capsule endoscopy requires a high-resolution camera and compact wideband antenna systems that yield high performance at low manufacturing cost and allow easy integration of components into a capsule. Therefore, a novel ultra-miniaturized wideband meandered antenna along an annular ring substrate is proposed that enables straightforward integration between the camera and capsule wall. The antenna contains two rings of microstrip lines on two dielectric layers. By exciting microstrip lines and judiciously positioning their resonance frequencies, all the medical device radio communications service (MedRadio) in the [401-457] MHz bands are covered. Numerical results exhibit an overlapping impedance bandwidth of 57.8%, from 364 MHz to 615 MHz, and stable radiation performance across the operating bandwidth with a minimum realized gain of -42 dBi, and efficiency of 0.02% for different body tissues. Hence, this innovative design paves the way for a new generation of cost-effective, high-performance, and directly integrated antenna systems that efficiently exploit the area in the capsule.

Electricity is one of the mandatory commodities for mankind today. To address challenges and issues in the transmission of electricity through the traditional grid, the concepts of smart grids and demand response have been developed. In such systems, a large amount of data is generated daily from various sources such as power generation (e.g., wind turbines), transmission and distribution (microgrids and fault detectors), load management (smart meters and smart electric appliances). Thanks to recent advancements in big data and computing technologies, Deep Learning (DL) can be leveraged to learn the patterns from the generated data and predict the demand for electricity and peak hours. Motivated by the advantages of deep learning in smart grids, this paper sets to provide a comprehensive survey on the application of DL for intelligent smart grids and demand response. Firstly, we present the fundamental of DL, smart grids, demand response, and the motivation behind the use of DL. Secondly, we review the state-of-the-art applications of DL in smart grids and demand response, including electric load forecasting, state estimation, energy theft detection, energy sharing and trading. Furthermore, we illustrate the practicality of DL via various use cases and projects. Finally, we highlight the challenges presented in existing research works and highlight important issues and potential directions in the use of DL for smart grids and demand response. Introduction:Minimizing the importation and exportation risks of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is a primary concern for sustaining the“Dynamic COVID-zero”strategy in *** estimation is essential for cities to conduct before relaxing border control ***:Informed by the daily number of passengers traveling between 367 prefectures(cities)in China,this study used a stochastic metapopulation model parameterized with COVID-19 epidemic characteristics to estimate the importation and exportation ***:Under the transmission scenario(R0=5.49),this study estimated the cumulative case incidence of Changchun City,Jilin Province as 3,233(95%confidence interval:1,480,4,986)before a lockdown on March 14,2022,which is close to the 3,168 cases reported in real life by March 16,*** a total of 367 prefectures(cities),127(35%)had high exportation risks according to the simulation and could transmit the disease to 50%of all other regions within a period from 17 to 94 *** average time until a new infection arrives in a location in 1 of the 367 prefectures(cities)ranged from 26 to 101 ***:Estimating COVID-19 importation and exportation risks is necessary for preparedness,prevention,and control measures of COVID-19—especially when new variants emerge.

Smart energy systems comprise multiple domains like power, thermal, control, information, and communication technology, which increases the complexity of research and development studies. This expansion also requires larger and ever so complex experimental pilot environments driving the demand for geographically distributed multi-research infrastructure tests. The Holistic Test Description approach supports the design of multi-domain and multi-research infrastructure tests by organizing the test cases into comprehensive segments, ensuring all relevant items for testing are covered. These test cases eventually form a pool, which to understand holistically would require studying and reading all the descriptions. This work proposes therefore the concept of Test Case Profiles to improve test case discovery and the structured creation of them. Test Case Profiles add further structure to the indexing in test case repositories. All of oral surgeries are accompanied by bleeding. Manual removal of blood is carried out by a nurse and dozens of repetitive blood suction operations are implemented by the nurse during a single oral surgery. In our previous work, a robot for removal of blood-water mixed liquid is designed. However, the robot requires an initial order to autonomous removal of blood mixed liquid. In this paper, a hand gesture control method for typical operations of the robot is developed. Gesture dataset are developed at first and a deep learning neural network is trained for detection of hand gesture. The gesture control procedures for four typical operations are provided in detail. In a group of experiments, it’s demonstrated that an oral surgeon controls the robot’s motion by presenting prescribed hand gesture. The proposed method could be an alternative manner for blood mixed liquid removal.

We present results of a comprehensive analysis of the polarization characteristics of GRB 200503A and GRB 201009A observed with the Cadmium Zinc Telluride Imager (CZTI) on board AstroSat. Despite these GRBs being reasonably bright, they were missed by several spacecraft and had thus far not been localized well, hindering polarization analysis. We present positions of these bursts obtained from the Inter-Planetary Network (IPN) and the newly developed CZTI localization pipeline. We then undertook polarization analyses using the standard CZTI pipeline. We cannot constrain the polarization properties for GRB 200503A, but find that GRB 201009A has a high degree of polarization. © 2024, CC BY.
