Self-evident Automated Proving Based on Point Geometry from the Perspective of Wu's Method Identity

The algebraic methods represented by Wu's method have made signi?cant breakthroughs in the ?eld of geometric theorem proving. Algebraic proofs usually involve large amounts of calculations, thus making it diffcult to understand intuitively. However, if the authors look at Wu's method from the perspective of identity, Wu's method can be understood easily and can be used to generate new geometric propositions. To make geometric reasoning simpler, more expressive, and richer in geometric meaning, the authors establish a geometric algebraic system(point geometry built on nearly 20 basic properties/formulas about operations on points) while maintaining the advantages of the coordinate method, vector method, and particle geometry method and avoiding their disadvantages. Geometric relations in the propositions and conclusions of a geometric problem are expressed as identical equations of vector polynomials according to point geometry. Thereafter, a proof method that maintains the essence of Wu's method is introduced to ?nd the relationships between these equations. A test on more than 400 geometry statements shows that the proposed proof method, which is based on identical equations of vector polynomials, is simple and e?ective. Furthermore, when solving the original problem, this proof method can also help the authors recognize the relationship between the propositions of the problem and help the authors generate new geometric propositions.

event cameras asynchronously capture pixel-level intensity changes in scenes and output a stream of events. Compared with traditional frame-based cameras, they can offer competitive imaging characteristics: low latency, high dynamic range, and low power consumption. It means that event cameras are ideal for vision tasks in dynamic scenarios, such as human action recognition. The best-performing event-based algorithms convert events into frame-based representations and feed them into existing learning models. However, generating informative frames for long-duration event streams is still a challenge since event cameras work asynchronously without a fixed frame rate. In this work, we propose a novel frame-based representation named Compact event Image (CeI) for action recognition. This representation is generated by a self-attention based module named event Tubelet Compressor (eVTC) in a learnable way. The eVTC module adaptively summarizes the long-term dynamics and temporal patterns of events into a CeI frame set. We can combine eVTC with conventional video backbones for end-to-end event-based action recognition. We evaluate our approach on three benchmark datasets, and experimental results show it outperforms state-of-the-art methods by a large margin.

Head pose estimation (HPe) has been widely used in the fields of human machine interaction, self-driving, and attention estimation. However, existing methods cannot deal with extreme head pose randomness and serious occlusions. To address these challenges, we identify three cues from head images, namely, neighborhood similarities, significant facial changes, and critical minority relationships. To leverage the observed findings, we propose a novel critical minority relationship-aware method based on the Transformer architecture in which the facial part relationships can be learned. Specifically, we design several orientation tokens to explicitly encode the basic orientation regions. Meanwhile, a novel token guide multiloss function is designed to guide the orientation tokens as they learn the desired regional similarities and relationships. We evaluate the proposed method on three challenging benchmark HPe datasets. experiments show that our method achieves better performance compared with state-of-the-art methods. Globally, animal production has developed rapidly as a consequence of the ongoing population growth, to support food security. This has consequently led to an extensive use of antibiotics to promote growth and prevent diseases in animals. However, most antibiotics are not fully metabolized by these animals, leading to their excretion within urine and faeces, thus making these wastes a major reservoir of antibiotics residues, antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and antibiotic resistant bacteria (ARB) in the environment. Farmers normally depend on conventional treatment methods to mitigate the environmental impact of animal waste;however, these methods are not fully efficient to remove the environmental resistome. The present study reviewed the variability of residual antibiotics, ARB, as well as ARGs in the conventionally treated waste and assessed how discharging it could increase resistome in the receiving environments. Wherein, considering the efficiency and environmental safety, an addition of pre-treatments steps with these conventional treatment methods could enhance the removal of antibiotic resistance agents from livestock waste. © 2023

Animation-assisted learning enhances caregivers’ knowledge of anticipatory guidance for children during a well-child clinical visit: A prospective study

Purpose: To evaluate whether animation-assisted learning (AAL) enhances caregiver's knowledge of anticipatory guidance (AG) for children and determine the influence of the socioeconomic status during a well-child clinical visit. Methods: We prospectively enrolled caregivers who presented for well-child checkups at a tertiary care center. Participants completed a pre-test, watched a 25-min animation on specific AG topics, and then completed a post-test. We collected information on the caregivers’ gender, parity number, educational level, age, and employment status and then analyzed test accuracy relative to select socio-demographic factors. Results: We enrolled 150 caregivers (75 in the ≤3-month group, and 75 in the >3-month-to-7-year group). The pre- and post-AAL accuracy rates were 68.7% ± 14.5% vs. 88.2% ± 9.9% for the ≤3-month and 75.9% ± 13.1% vs. 92.3% ± 10.0% for the >3-month-to-7-year groups. Women, non-primipara caregivers, and college graduates in the ≤3-month group had better pre-test accuracy than their counterparts (p = 0.002, 0.002, and 0.004, respectively). Irrespective of socio-demographic factors, all caregivers demonstrated significantly improved AG knowledge post-AAL. Furthermore, college graduates or unemployed caregivers in the ≤3-month group showed improvements with AAL (p = 0.001 and 0.006, respectively). Conclusions: Caregiver's knowledge level further improved post-AAL regardless of their socio-demographic backgrounds, highlighting AAL's effectiveness across diverse populations. The most substantial improvements were observed among higher-educated or unemployed caregivers with infants aged ≤3 months. © 2025 Formosan Medical Association

Intent classification is an essential step in processing user input to a conversational assistant. This work investigates techniques of intent classification of chat messages used for communication among software development teams with the aim of building an intent classifier for a management conversational assistant integrated into modern communication platforms used by developers. experiments conducted using rule-based and common ML techniques have shown that careful choice of classification features has a significant impact on performance, and the best performing model was able to obtain a classification accuracy of 72%. A set of techniques for extracting useful features for text classification in the software engineering domain was also implemented and tested. © 2020 Ieee.

Leveraging the high resolution,sensitivity,and wide frequency coverage of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA),the QUARKS survey,standing for“Querying Underlying mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved gas Kinematics and Structures”,is observing 139 massive starforming clumps at ALMA Band 6(λ~1.3 mm).This paper introduces the Atacama Compact Array(ACA)7 m data of the QUARKS survey,describing the ACA observations and data *** multiwavelength data,we provide the first edition of QUARKS atlas,offering insights into the multiscale and multiphase interstellar medium in high-mass star *** ACA 1.3 mm catalog includes 207 continuum sources that are called ACA *** gas kinetic temperatures are estimated using three formaldehyde transitions with a non-LTe radiation transfer model,and the mass and density are derived from a dust emission *** ACA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),gravity-dominated(M∝R^(1.1))fragments within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and embedded star-forming *** find a linear correlation between the masses of the fragments and the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** considering fragments as representative of dense gas,the ratio indicates a dense gas fraction(DGF)of 6%,although with a wide scatter ranging from 1%to 10%.If we consider the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed at various scales,then the size-independent DGF indicates a self-similar fragmentation or collapsing mode in protocluster *** the ACA data over four orders of magnitude of luminosity-to-mass ratio(L/M),we find that the DGF increases significantly with L/M,which indicates clump evolutionary *** observed a limited fragmentation at the subclump scale,which can be explained by a dynamic global collapse process.

Microplastics (MPs), defined as plastic particles smaller than five millimeters, are pervasive environmental pollutants affecting ecosystems from aquatic habitats to terrestrial soils. While extensive research has been conducted on MPs contamination in marine environments, the impacts of MPs in agricultural soils, particularly on plant health, remain underexplored. This review presents a comprehensive analysis of MPs contamination sources, pathways, and effects on soil properties and plant systems, focusing on MPs unique mechanisms of translocation within plants. By examining the role of MPs in disrupting soil structure, microbial communities, and plant growth, this paper identifies critical knowledge gaps and highlights the ecological risks of MPs presence in agricultural settings. Unlike prior reviews, this work provides a plant-centric perspective, addressing MPs uptake, translocation, and accumulation within plant tissues, and proposes novel mitigation strategies such as biodegradable alternatives and advancements in waste management. Furthermore, we discuss the implications of MPs interactions with heavy metals and other pollutants in soil, which may amplify toxicity in plant systems and impact overall soil fertility. This review aims to inform future research directions and policy-making efforts to mitigate the adverse effects of MPs in terrestrial ecosystems, with significant implications for agricultural productivity, soil health, and long-term food security.

Systematically evaluation of Challenge Obfuscated APUFs

As a well-known physical unclonable function that can provide huge number of challenge response pairs (CRP) with a compact design and fully compatibility with current electronic fabrication process, the arbiter PUF (APUF) has attracted great attention. To improve its resilience against modeling attacks, many APUF variants have been proposed so far. Though the modeling resilience of response obfuscated APUF variants such as XOR-APUF and lightweight secure APUF (LSPUF) have been well studied, the challenge obfuscated APUFs (CO-APUFs) such as feed-forward APUF (FF-APUF), and XOR-FF-APUF are less elucidated, especially, with the deep learning (DL) methods. This work systematically evaluates five CO-APUFs including three influential designs of FF-APUF, XOR-FF-APUF, iPUF, one very recently design (dubbed as MnS1,S2,S3-APUF) and our newly optimized design (dubbed as OAX-FF-APUF), in terms of their reliability, uniformity (related to uniqueness), and modeling resilience. Three DL techniques of GRU, TCN and MLP are employed to examine these CO-APUFs' modeling resilience-the first two are newly explored. With computation resource of a common personal computer, we show that all five CO-APUFs with relatively large scale can be successfully modeled-attacking accuracy higher or close to its reliability. The hyper-parameter tuning of DL technique is crucial for implementing efficient attacks. Increasing the scale of the CO-APUF is validated to be able to improve the resilience but should be done with minimizing the reliability degradation. As the powerful capability of DL technique affirmed by us, we recommend the DL, specifically the MLP technique always demonstrating best efficacy, to be always considered for examining the modeling resilience when newly composited APUFs are devised or to a large extent, other strong PUFs are constructed. We determined the complete mitochondrial genome sequence of a holothurianeuapta godeffroyibelonging to the order Apodida. The complete mitogenome ofe. godeffroyiwas 16,410 bp in length and consisted of 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), two ribosomal RNA genes, and 22 transfer RNA genes. The orders of PCGs and rRNAs did not match those of any recorded holothurian mitogenomes. The maximum likelihood (ML) phylogenetic tree placede. godeffroyias the sister group to chiridotid species and supported the monophyly of the order Apodida.
