Water is called the “source of life”; it is the foundation of our human existence, and it is also an essential resource in the development of the country. Water pollution mainly includes two aspects. The first is that the water quality is polluted to a certain extent. Although our country has successively introduced many policies and measures to improve the water environment and reduce water pollution in recent years, people’s treatment of the water environment and the degree of attention is still not in place. The other is due to the extensive use of various pesticides and chemical fertilizers in the process of land planting and plant planting, resulting in a decrease in the water storage and drainage capacity of the soil. The quality of water resources has a certain degree of influence on the utilization efficiency of water resources. The full use of water resources refers to the use of water resources as raw materials or production costs into the production and operation process. While promoting urban development, the overall coordinated development of cities in adjacent or similar areas, especially cities with similar or the same water area, should be carried out, so that the development of each city and the development of the water area can coexist harmoniously. The theory of green development lies in the water. The definition in the efficient use of resources is to use the smallest possible investment in water resources in exchange for maximum benefits. This article organically combines the allocation of water resources with the protection and pollution control of the ecological and natural environment, so as to study the utilization of water resources in cities, and provide corresponding theoretical support for the improvement of the ecological environment of water resources and the increasing cleanliness.

As science and technology have advanced, more people have begun to use computer technology. Virtual reality technology has received attention and extensive references from the apparel design industry because of its superiority in accuracy and authenticity, its ease of preservation and modification, and its capacity to inspire designers' creative inspiration. This is due to the fact that it is the new technology that has been experienced the most intensely. As a result, research will be conducted on conceptualizing and implementing technologies for virtual clothing design. First, the gene coding of an interactive genetic algorithm for product concept design was shown, and then the picture evaluation method of a virtual reality environment was presented. Both of these were presented in the same order. In conclusion, the findings of optimization experiments on synthetic lines were acquired by the use of experiments. experiments have demonstrated that the optimized line is more conducive to the visual identification of images and graphics.

Privacy-Preserving Federated learning with Intermediate-Level Model Sharing

Federated learning allows multiple entities to collaboratively train machine learning models without sharing raw data. Despite its promise of enhancing privacy, sensitive information can still leak through shared model parameters. Additionally, communication inefficiencies and model training under heterogeneous data distributions remain major challenges in federated learning. Although hierarchical architectures offer reasonable solutions, achieving all goals simultaneously remains extremely challenging. This study proposes an intermediate-level model-sharing approach within a hierarchical federated learning framework, considering model performance, communication overhead, and privacy requirements holistically. We evaluated our approach with two privacy mechanisms, first with local differential privacy and second with an intermediate-level perturbation mechanism combined with homomorphic encryption. An extensive set of experiments was conducted adopting a three-tier hierarchical architecture using federated datasets derived from three widely recognized datasets. Results revealed that the proposed model-sharing approach enhances the model utility and exhibits acceptable convergence performance. Additionally, our approach yielded high accuracies in the early stages of training, demonstrating its ability to reduce global communication rounds and thereby decrease the communication burden while increasing privacy. Moreover, the intermediate-level perturbation mechanism achieved better model performance compared to the client-side perturbation. Furthermore, we introduced a fair aggregation mechanism integrating sample-based weighting at intermediate servers and accuracy-based weighting at the central server. Although this did not significantly increase accuracy, it offered greater privacy benefits than mechanisms that rely solely on sample-based weighting. Quiescent galaxies are predominantly observed in local galaxy clusters. However, the fraction of quiescent galaxies in high-redshift clusters significantly varies among different clusters. In this study, we present the results of an analysis of the star formation properties of z ∼ 0.87 clusters and groups from a cosmological hydrodynamical simulation Horizon Run 5. We investigate the correlation between the quiescent galaxy fraction (QF) of these model clusters/groups and their various internal or external properties. We find that halo mass is one of the most important characteristics as higher-mass clusters and groups have higher QFs. We also find that other properties such as stellar-mass ratio and FoF fraction, measures the proportion of the area around a cluster occupied by dense structures, may mildly affect the QFs of clusters and groups. This may indicate that the evolutionary history as well as the large-scale environment of clusters and groups also play a certain role in determining the star formation status of high-redshift galaxy clusters and groups. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is a human and animal-associated opportunistic pathogen. The bioaerosols from livestock units have been identified to spread MRSA from indoor to outdoor ambient environments and represent a significant risk to public health. Different bioaerosol sampling methods (filtration, impingement, impaction, cyclone, condensation, electrostatic precipitation etc.) have been discussed based on their merits. In this report, we conducted a literature survey approach to understand the lineages of MRSA clones in various livestock air via molecular typing classification, as well as the function of bioaerosol transmission which could impose infection risk in other clean settings. Our analysis found that globally the spa types t011, t002, t034, t127, and t899 are widespread genotype lineages in different livestock's farm air. It is noteworthy that the MRSA clones ST398 and ST9 are most commonly found in livestock settings and carry various types of staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) elements. In addition, the aerosolization process in livestock units helps to increase the load of MRSA colony in ambient air, which could transmit to the downwind direction of the livestock farms. Ultimately, in the molecular classification of prevalent MRSA clones in livestock settings, the air dynamics are essential in assessing the potential risk of bioaerosol transmission towards outdoor ambient environments. A basic hygiene-driven One-Health approach is critical in mitigating the risks associated with MRSA transmission from livestock settings and promoting public health. Furthermore, to avoid outbreaks, continuous surveillance and effective infection control measures are necessary to prevent the spread of MRSA and other antibiotic-resistant bacteria in both animal and human populations. © 2024 elsevier Ltd

Understanding the structure, dynamics, and functionality of microbial communities is essential for developing sustainable and effective bioremediation strategies, particularly for sites contaminated with mixed chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs), which can make the biodegradation process more complex and challenging. In this study, 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing revealed a significant change in microbial distribution in response to CVOCs contamination. The loss of sensitive taxa such as Proteobacteria and Acidobacteriota was observed, while CVOCs-resistant taxa such as Campilobacterota were found significantly enriched in contaminated sites. Additionally, varying abundances of crucial enzymes involved in the sequential biodegradation of CVOCs were expressed depending on the contamination level. Association analysis revealed that specific genera such as Sulfurospirillum, Azospira, Trichlorobacter, Acidiphilium, and Magnetospririllum could relatively survive under higher levels of CVOC contamination, whereas pH, ORP and temperature had a negative influence in their abundance and distribution. However, Dechloromonas, Thiobacillus, Pseudarcicella, Hydrogenophaga, and Sulfuritalea showed a negative relationship with CVOC contamination, highlighting their sensitivity towards CVOC contamination. These findings provide valuable insights into the relationship among ecological responses, the groundwater bacterial community, and their functionality in response to mixed CVOC contamination, offering a fundamental basis for developing effective and sustainable bioremediation strategies for CVOC-contaminated groundwater systems. © 2023 elsevier Ltd

Sensorimotor rhythm (SMR) activity has been associated with automaticity and flow in motor execution. Studies have revealed that neurofeedback training (NFT) of the SMR can improve sports performance;however, few studies have adequately explored the effects of a single session of such NFT or examined the possible mechanisms underlying these effects on sports performance. This study recruited 44 professional golfers to address these gaps in the literature. A crossover design was employed to determine the order of the participation in the NFT and no-training control conditions. The participants were asked to perform 60 10-foot putts while electroencephalograms (eeGs) were recorded before and after the tasks. In pre-and post-tests, visual analog scales were used to assess the psychological states associated with SMR activities including the levels of attention engagement, conscious motor control, and physical relaxation. The results revealed that a single NFT session effectively increased SMR power and improved putting performance compared with the control condition. The subjective assessments also revealed that the participants reported lower attention engagement, less conscious control of the motor details and were more relaxed in the putting task, suggesting that SMR NFT promoted effortless and quiescent mental states during motor preparation for a putting task. This study aligns with theoretical hypotheses and extends current knowledge by revealing that a single session of SMR NFT can effectively enhance SMR power and improve putting performance in professional golfers. It also provides preliminary evidence of the possible underlying mechanisms that drive the effect of SMR NFT on putting performances. © 2023 The Authors. Kirsten rat sarcoma virus (KRAS) signaling drives pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) malignancy, which is an unmet clinical need. Here, we identify a disintegrin and metalloproteinase domain (ADAM)9 as a modulator of PDAC progression via stabilization of wild-type and mutant KRAS proteins. Mechanistically, ADAM9 loss increases the interaction of KRAS with plasminogen activator inhibitor 1 (PAI-1), which functions as a selective autophagy receptor in conjunction with light chain 3 (LC3), triggering lysosomal degradation of KRAS. Suppression of ADAM9 by a small-molecule inhibitor restricts disease progression in spontaneous models, and combination with gemcitabine elicits dramatic regression of patient-derived tumors. Our findings provide a promising strategy to target the KRAS signaling cascade and demonstrate a potential modality to enhance sensitivity to chemotherapy in PDAC. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature America, Inc. 2024.
