In novel learning environments, learning systems not only are able to get environmental information through sensing technology to provide adaptive learning resources and information to students, but also help students to conduct interactions with learning communities. In this study, the development potential of digital archives resource into outdoor environmental education is focused with mobile learning-based educational theory. It makes the learner learn the essence of environmental education, in order to appreciate the valuable resources of nature paid to understand the sustainable necessary of ecological coexistence, thus promote the human treasure of natural resources. To verify the feasibility of our approach, the grade students participate the cooperative learning activity. The experimental results show that the effect of mobile community interactive learning is better than the general outdoor learning methods and the cooperative learning theory can improve the efficiency of learners' knowledge effectively. © 2012 Ieee.

This paper presents a tag-topic model with Dirichlet Forest prior (TTM-DF) for semantic knowledge acquisition from blog. The TTM-DF model extends the tag-topic model (TTM) by replacing the Dirichlet prior with the Dirichlet Forest prior over the topic-word multinomial. The correlation between words are calculated to generate a set of Must-Links and Cannot-Links, then the structures of Dirichlet trees are obtained though encoding the constraints of Must-Links and Cannot-Links. Words under the same subtrees are expected to be more correlated than words under different subtrees. We conduct experiments on a synthetic and a blog dataset. Both of the experimental results show that the TTM-DF model performs much better than the TTM model. It can improve the coherence of the underlying topics and the tag-topic distributions, and capture semantic knowledge effectively. © 2012 ACM.

Gram-negative bacilli Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an important pathogen in hospitalized patients, contributing to their morbidity and mortality due to its multiple resistance mechanisms. Therefore, as therapeutic options become restricted, the search for new agents is a priority. Latterly an accelerated increase in frequency of multidrug-resistant clinical strains has severely limited the availability of therapeutic options. Several in vitro and in vitro studies evaluating the efficacy of different antimicrobials agents and development of vaccines against P. aeruginosa have been reported as novel approaches, such as inhibition of virulence factor expression or inhibition of their metabolic pathways.

Hyperspectral imaging has been widely studied in many applications;notably in climate changes, vegetation, and desert studies. However, such kind of imaging brings a huge amount of data, which requires transmission, processing, and storage resources for both airborne and space borne imaging. Compression of hyperspectral data cubes is an effective solution for these problems. Lossless compression of the hyperspectral data usually results in low compression ratio, which may not meet the available resources;on the other hand, lossy compression may give the desired ratio, but with a significant degradation effect on object identification performance of the hyperspectral data. Moreover, most hyperspectral data compression techniques exploits the similarities in spectral dimensions;which requires bands reordering or regrouping, to make use of the spectral redundancy. In this paper, we analyze the spectral cross correlation between bands for AVIRIS and Hyperion hyperspectral data;spectral cross correlation matrix is calculated, assessing the strength of the spectral matrix, and finally, we propose new technique to find highly correlated groups of bands in the hyperspectral data cube based on 'inter band correlation square' referencing. © 2012 Ieee.

The dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxies of the Milky Way are some of the most dark-matter-dominated objects known. Due to their proximity, high dark matter content, and lack of astrophysical backgrounds, dwarf spheroidal galaxies are widely considered to be among the most promising targets for the indirect detection of dark matter via γ rays. Here we report on γ-ray observations of 25 Milky Way dwarf spheroidal satellite galaxies based on 4 years of Fermi Large Area Telescope (LAT) data. None of the dwarf galaxies are significantly detected in γ rays, and we present γ-ray flux upper limits between 500 MeV and 500 GeV. We determine the dark matter content of 18 dwarf spheroidal galaxies from stellar kinematic data and combine LAT observations of 15 dwarf galaxies to constrain the dark matter annihilation cross section. We set some of the tightest constraints to date on the annihilation of dark matter particles with masses between 2 GeV and 10 TeV into prototypical standard model channels. We find these results to be robust against systematic uncertainties in the LAT instrument performance, diffuse γ-ray background modeling, and assumed dark matter density profile.

Due to the variety of household electric devices and different power consumption habits of consumers at present, it is a challenge to identify various electric appliances without any presetting. This paper proposed the smart appliance management system for recognizing of electric appliances in home network, which can measure the power consumption of household appliances through a current sensing device. The characteristics and categories of related electric appliances are established, and this system could search the corresponding cluster data and eliminates noise for recognition functionality and error detection mechanism of electric appliances by applying the current clustering algorithm. At the same time, this system integrates household appliance control network services to control them based on users' power consumption plans, thus realizing a bidirectional monitoring service. In practical tests, the system reached a recognition rate of 95%, and could successfully control general household appliances in home network. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
