METREY retired from U.S. government service in January 2001 having served as the director of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division and prior to formation of the Carderock Division as the technical director of the David Taylor Research Center for a combined total of 15 years. Prior to serving as the technical director of the David Taylor Research Center Mr. Metrey held key positions in the Navy secretariat among them serving as the deputy assistant secretary of the Navy for surface warfare and the principal advisor to the assistant secretary of the Navy (research engineering and systems). He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Marquette University Milwaukee Wisconsin and a master of science degree in mechanical engineer-ing from George Washington University Washington D.C. DR. SCOTT C. TRUVER is group vice president National Security Studies Anteon Corporation and directs the Center for Security Strategies and Operations in Anteon's Systems Engineering Group. Since 1972 he has participated in numerous studies for government and private industry in the United States and abroad he has also written extensively for U.S. and foreign publications. He has supported key offices in the Navy Secretariat Office of the Chief of Naval Operations and Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps Navy Systems Commands and laboratories and other Navy and Marine Corps commands and activities. Dr. Truver holds a doctor of philosophy degree in marine policy studies (1978)—the first Ph.D. in this field ever awarded by an institute of higher education—and a master of arts degree in political science and international relations (1974) from the University of Delaware where he held research and university fellowships. Future USN aircraft carrier analysis of alternatives

作者: Raber, JD Perin, DA Mr. James D. Raber:received a master of science degree in naval architecture and marine engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1967. Since 1967 he has worked for the Navy Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and predecessor organizations in the area of early stage design of naval ships. Among the major USN programs he has supported are the FFG 7 and DDG 51. In the late ‘70s he was the NAVSEA representative to the CNO DDX Study Group which established the general requirements for the DDG 51 class. He has been active in international technical exchange programs for which he was awarded membership in the National Order of Merit by the Republic of France in 1992. Since early 1996 he has been the NAVSEA Ship Concept Team Leader for what is now the CVNX Program. Dr. David A. Perin:received a PhD in mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1971. He joined the Center for Naval Analyses in 1973 where he has led a wide variety of studies on naval warfare. From 1985 to 1987 he served as the CNA representative on the staff of Commander Striking Fleet Atlantic for which he was awarded a Defense Distinguished Service Medal. During the 1990s he has led formal analysis of alternatives for the LPD-17 F/A-18E/F and CVX. Currently he is the Director of the JCC(X) Analysis of Alternatives.

She last wrote about the Museum Magnet School concept for the JME in the winter 1996 issue (“Introduction to a Museum School: The Museum Process as Pedagogy ” vol. 21 no. 1).[b] Debra Ingram and Douglas Huffman are research associates with the Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement (CAREI) at the University of Minnesota. They are authors of Assessing Student Learning in the Exhibit Development Learning Model (1997).[c] Karen Thimmesch has been a fourth-grade teacher at Museum Magnet School since 1992. She was recently named to the 1998 Association of Science-Technology Centers' National Honor Roll of Teachers for her outstanding collaborative work with the Science Museum of Minnesota.[d] Wayne Gilman was a fourth-grade teacher at Museum Magnet School for five years and is currently an administrative intern at Hancock Elementary School in St. Paul.
