Creep Prediction Model of Concrete-Filled Steel Tube under Different Core Concrete Conditions

To reasonably predict the creep law of concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) members under different working conditions, four groups of creep tests were carried out, and the creep curves of CFST specimens with defects were obtained. Based on the creep prediction formula given in the code for the design of CFST highway arch bridges issued in 2015, the creep prediction models of CFST under different core concrete conditions are studied. The results show that the concrete microcracks around the cavity defects are continuously generated and expanded during the compression process, resulting in the dislocation and sliding of the concrete. It increases the additional deformation of CFST; debonding defects hinder the redistribution of stress between the steel tube and the core concrete, weaken the interaction effect between the steel tube and the concrete, and increase the creep deformation of the core concrete. According to Different core concrete states, appropriate reference factors are selected to modify the creep prediction formula of CFST, which greatly improves the creep prediction accuracy of CFST members and defective members.

Dust distribution characteristics of the breathing zone in the walkway area of fully-mechanized mining face: a case study

To understand the dust distribution characteristics of fully mechanized mining faces, this study utilized the gravimetric method to sample dust in the walkway area during the coal cutting process of the shearer, followed by testing and analysis of the dust samples. The research findings reveal that the pollution level in the walkway area significantly surpasses coal mine safety regulations. There is no significant correlation between variations in dust concentration and dust quantity at different locations, with the region within 6 m behind the shearer exhibiting the highest dust quantity. The rate of change in respirable dust quantity is notably lower than that of non-respirable dust quantity. In all areas except those corresponding to the shearer, the number of dust particles within the range of 0 to 10 μm exceeds 90%. Additionally, dust particles on the mining face have smooth surfaces but are predominantly elongated in shape. These findings underscore the current inadequacies in effectively controlling dust in walkway areas. Therefore, there is a pressing need to implement more technological measures to control dust in these areas, with a specific emphasis on reducing the quantity of respirable dust, rather than solely focusing on variations in dust concentration. © The Author(s) 2025.

Most existing works on barrier coverage assume that sensors are deployed in a two-dimensional (2D) long thin belt region, where a barrier is a chain of sensors from one end of the region to the other end with overlapping sensing zones of adjacent sensors. However, 2D sensor barrier construction mechanism cannot be directly applied to three-dimensional (3D) sensor barrier construction problem, such as underwater sensor barrier construction, where sensors are finally distributed over a 3D space. In this paper, we investigate how to efficiently construct an underwater sensor barrier with minimum mobile sensors while reducing energy consumption. We first determine the minimum number of sensors needed for an underwater sensor barrier construction. Furthermore, we analyse the relationship between the initial locations of sensors and the optimal location of the underwater sensor barrier, based on which we derive the optimal final locations for all sensors. Finally, we propose an efficient algorithm to move sensors from their initial locations to final locations. Extensive simulations show that, compared with HungarianK approach, the proposed algorithm costs shorter running time and similar maximum movement distance of any one sensor. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2018.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) have been recently considered as a promising candidate for energy-efficient solutions in future wireless networks. Their dynamic and low-power configuration enables coverage extension, massive connectivity, and low-latency communications. Due to a large number of unknown variables referring to the RIS unit elements and the transmitted signals, channel estimation and signal recovery in RIS-based systems are the ones of the most critical technical challenges. To address this problem, we focus on the RIS-assisted wireless communication system and present two joint channel estimation and signal recovery schemes based on message passing algorithms in this paper. Specifically, the proposed bidirectional scheme applies the Taylor series expansion and Gaussian approximation to simplify the sum-product procedure in the formulated problem. In addition, the inner iteration that adopts two variants of approximate message passing algorithms is incorporated to ensure robustness and convergence. Two ambiguities removal methods are also discussed in this paper. Our simulation results show that the proposed schemes show the superiority over the state-of-art benchmark method. We also provide insights on the impact of different RIS parameter settings on the proposed schemes. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Vibration-assisted cutting as one of specially typical precision non-conventional machining methods, recently, has aroused lots of scholars and science researchers interests, especially in hard and brittle material cutting with a significant challenge. The objective of present study develops a novel apparatus which combines mechanical and control design, a series of cutting experiments conducted on Al 7075 alloy that defined as one of high strength alloy materials appliance in lots of industries field to investigate the feasibility and reliability of the appliance. In present paper, a mechanical model of vibration- assisted cutting apparatus was designed and than evaluated by off-line test analysis. The novel apparatus can work at below 124 Hz with maximum stroke 27.285μm. Fuzzy PID was preliminary introduced into vibration-assisted cutting apparatus control strategy. Programs were established based on LabVIEW software and then downloaded into NI Compact 9033 controller in order to control vibration-assisted cutting apparatus. By compared with three strategies each other, the tracking error of fuzzy strategy increased 11.2 times that of fuzzy PID, at the same time, PID strategy oscillation amplitude increased 5.3 times that of fuzzy PID. A series of cutting experiments were conducted on the plane and freeform surface deforming. The validity and availability of vibration-assisted cutting apparatus were conducted in experiments. © 2018 IEEE.

In this paper, the surface microstructure and wear property of D2 wheel steel under sliding wear condition were studied by MRH-30 sliding wear tester. After testing, a transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM) with electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), and micro-hardness testers were used to characterize the surface microstructure of samples with different cycles. The results show that the wear losss samples are increased as the increase of cycles, and the wear loss of wheel samples is higher than that of rail samples. The surface hardness and thickness of deformation layer of wheel samples are increased as the cycles increase. After sliding wear, the samples surfaces form the white etching layer with the thickness of several microns. Through the analysis of surface microstructure of sample with 12,000 cycles, the lamellar cementite in pearlite is fragment into cementite particles with the decrease of depth from surface, and the cementite is dissolved at surface to lead to the form of white etching layer. The ferrite grains are refined gradually and the fraction of high angle grain boundary is increased with the decrease of depth from surface. The nanosgrains layer of ferrite grains with 5 μm thickness is formed. According to the result of finite element simulation of contact surface temperature, the formation of surface nanograins and the dissolution of cementite are caused by the severe plastic deformation. Cooperation in wireless systems has extensively escalated during the last two decades. A new blind equalization approach based on online regression technique of cooperative communication systems is presented, together with the detailed theoretical derivation of the algorithm. The proposed algorithm can be applied in cooperative communication systems where each node is only equipped with one omni-antenna. Meantime, it is suitable to equalize the cross-QAM（e.g. 8-QAM）. In addition,the new algorithm needs not the assumption of modulation scheme is known as a priori. Its convergence rate is fast and update rule is simple.
