The sparse interactions between users and items have aggravated the difficulty of their representations in recommender systems. Existing methods leverage tags to alleviate the sparsity problem but ignore prevalent logical relations among items and tags (e.g., membership, hierarchy, and exclusion), which can be leveraged to enhance the accuracy of modeling user preferences and conducting recommendations. To this end, we propose to extract logical relations among item tags from existing tag taxonomies and exploit the individual strengths of the Poincaré and the Lorentz models in hyperbolic space for logical relation modeling towards enhanced recommendations. Moreover, we find that the logical relations directly extracted from existing tag taxonomies can be inaccurate and coarse. Therefore, we further devise innovative consistency-based and granularity-based weighting mechanisms based on user behavior patterns for data-driven logical relation mining that can be jointly optimized along with recommendations in an end-to-end fashion. Extensive experiments on four real-world benchmark datasets show drastic performance gains brought by our proposed framework, which constantly achieves an average of 8.25% improvement over state-of-the-art competitors regarding both Recall and NDCG metrics. Insightful case studies further demonstrate that our automatically refined logical relations are highly accurate and interpretable. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, the optimization of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) localization under jamming attacks is studied. In the considered network, a base station (BS) collaborates with an active UAV to localize a target UAV. During this positioning process, a jamming UAV transmits discontinuous signals to passive UAVs to interfere the distance information measurement. To localize the target UAV under jamming attacks, the BS jointly use two localization methods: 1) generative adversarial network (GAN)-based positioning method and 2) time difference of arrival (TDOA)-based positioning method. Since GAN-based positioning method cannot defense in a strong jamming signal while TDOA-based positioning method may consume more energy and sacrifice localization accuracy, the BS must select an appropriate positioning method (GAN-based or TDOA-based methods) and four distance measurement information of passive UAVs to estimate the position of the target UAV. This problem is formulated as an optimization problem whose goal is to minimize the positioning error between the estimated and the ground truth positions of the target UAV while considering jamming attacks and the trajectory of passive UAVs. To solve this problem, we propose a mixture Gaussian distribution model-based collaborative reinforcement learning (RL) method which enables the active UAV to determine its transmit power and trajectory, and enables the BS to select the most appropriate subsets of distance measurement information and the optimal positioning method according to the movement of passive UAVs and the unknown jamming attack pattern of the jamming UAV. Simulation results show the proposed method can reduce the positioning error of the target UAV by up to 36.5% compared to the method that does not consider the GAN-based positioning method. © 2024 IEEE.

As the largest class of small non-coding RNAs, piRNAs primarily present in the reproductive cells of mammals, which influence post-transcriptional processes of mRNAs in multiple ways. Effective methods for predicting piRNA and mRNA target relationships can help identify piRNA functions, investigate the possibility of piRNAs as biomarkers and therapeutic targets. In this study, we propose a computational approach for classifying the relationships of piRNA-mRNA pairs based on an interactive inference network (IIN). First, we gather piRNA-mRNA target data, collect sequence data by position alignment, and construct a benchmark dataset. Furthermore, a reliable negative set is constructed by positive-unlabeled learning. Finally, we view a piRNA and a mRNA sequence as a premise and hypothesis sentence, respectively, and IIN model is used to predict the relationship between them. The experiments demonstrate that our method effectively characterizes piRNA-mRNA interaction and could be beneficial for researchers to investigate piRNA functions. © 2023 IEEE.

Random feature maps attempt to approximate the kernel method with low computational complexity, and they are efficient and effective algorithms for dealing with the non-linear structure of data. Nevertheless, the existing random feature-based methods are sensitive to hyper-parameters, and their performances are affected by the randomness in feature maps. To improve the robustness of random feature maps and further speed up kernel-based image segmentation algorithms, a multiple random feature superpixel-based fuzzy clustering is proposed in this paper. First, we generate a group of random features from the original image via a novel multiple random feature scheme. Then, we use the superpixel segmentation to reduce the scale of multiple random features. The final segmentation results are obtained by performing the multi-view fuzzy clustering on the multiple random feature superpixels. Experiments on two shared benchmark data sets verify the superiority of our approach.

This article investigates the adaptive resource allocation scheme for digital twin (DT) synchronization optimization over dynamic wireless networks. In our considered model, a base station (BS) continuously collects factory physical object state data from wireless devices to build a real-time virtual DT system for factory event analysis. Due to continuous data transmission, maintaining DT synchronization must use extensive wireless resources. To address this issue, a subset of devices is selected to transmit their sensing data, and resource block (RB) allocation is optimized. This problem is formulated as a constrained Markov process (CMDP) problem that minimizes the long-term mismatch between the physical and virtual systems. To solve this CMDP, we first transform the problem into a dual problem that refines RB constraint impacts on device scheduling strategies. We then propose a continual reinforcement learning (CRL) algorithm to solve the dual problem. The CRL algorithm learns a stable policy across historical experiences for quick adaptation to dynamics in physical states and network capacity. Simulation results show that the CRL can adapt quickly to network capacity changes and reduce normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) between physical and virtual states by up to 55.2%, using the same RB number as traditional methods. © 2025 IEEE. network traffic prediction plays a significant role in network management. Previous network traffic prediction methods mainly focus on the temporal relationship between network traffic, and used time series models to predict network traffic, ignoring the spatial information contained in traffic data. Therefore, the prediction accuracy is limited, especially in long-term prediction. To improve the prediction accuracy of the dynamic network traffic in the long term, we propose an Attention-based Spatial-Temporal Graph network (ASTGN) model for network traffic prediction to better capture both the temporal and spatial relations between the network traffic. Specifically, in ASTGN, we exploit an encoder-decoder architecture, where the encoder encodes the input network traffic and the decoder outputs the predicted network traffic sequences, integrating the temporal and spatial information of the network traffic data through the Spatio-Temporal Embedding module. The experimental results demonstrate the superiority of our proposed method ASTGN in long-term prediction.

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has achieved remote diagnosis and real-time health monitoring through intelligent sensor devices and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, providing great convenience for analyzing medical conditions between doctors and patients. However, sensitive information such as patient medical data may face security challenges such as data leakage and abuse during transmission in the IoMT. To ensure the confidentiality and unforgeability of medical data transmission, scholars have proposed many cryptographic schemes. With the development of quantum computers, schemes based on traditional cryptographic primitives have become insecure. Existing cryptographic schemes for IoMT cannot simultaneously meet the security requirements of high communication performance, low computational overhead, and resistance to quantum attacks. Therefore, we propose an efficient module-lattice-based certificateless online/offline signcryption (MLCLOOSC) scheme resistant to quantum attacks while meeting the confidentiality and unforgeability requirements under Type I and Type II attacks. Compared with five recent CLOOSC schemes, theoretical analysis, and experimental test results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the other five schemes regarding computational and communication costs and security. Therefore, our scheme is more suitable for application in IoMT scenarios. © 2014 IEEE.

Emerging computing paradigms provide field-level service responses for users, for example, edge computing, fog computing, and MEC. Edge virtualization technologies represented by Docker can provide a platform-independent, low-resource-consumption operating environment for edge service. The image-pulling time of Docker is a crucial factor affecting the start-up speed of edge services. The layer reuse mechanism of native Docker cannot fully utilize the duplicate data of node local images. In this paper, we propose a chunk reuse mechanism (CRM), which effectively targets node-local duplicate data during container updates and reduces the volume of data transmission required for image building. We orchestrate the CRM process for cloud and remote-cloud nodes to ensure that the resource overhead from container update data preparation and image reconstruction is within an acceptable range. The experimental results show that the CRM proposed in this paper can effectively utilize the node local duplicate data in the synchronous update of containers in multiple nodes, reduce the volume of data transmission, and significantly improve container update efficiency. © 2023 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Edge computing is an emerging promising computing paradigm that brings computation and storage resources to the network edge, significantly reducing service latency. In this paper, we aim to divide the task into several sub-tasks through its inherent interrelation, guided by the idea of high concurrency for synchronization, and then offload sub-tasks to other edge servers so that they can be processed to minimize the cost. Furthermore, we propose a DRL-based Multi-Task Dependency Offloading Algorithm (MTDOA) to solve challenges caused by dependencies between sub-tasks and dynamic working scenes. Firstly, we model the Markov decision process as the task offloading decision. Then, we use the graph attention network to extract the dependency information of different tasks and combine Long Short-term Memory (LSTM) with Deep Q network (DQN) to deal with time-dependent problems. Finally, simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm boasts good convergence ability and is superior to several other baseline algorithms, proving this algorithm’s effectiveness and reliability. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
