Dielectric Strength of Transformer Oil of Various Qualities

This paper focuses on the effects of dielectric strength on transformer oil reliability and on a reproduction of a voltage breakdown simulation during a dielectric strength test. A typical Foster test cell was used in order to measure the dielectric strength of a variety of oils. For a more complete picture, it requires the identification of more parameters but this paper examines only the above one as a result of the operation of a testing apparatus. It is shown that FEM/FDM analysis provides same information for the electrode gap. Bruce electrode provides highly uniform electric field. Factors such as voltage rate, relaxation time between measurements as well as the shape of the testing electrodes influences the dielectric strength of the liquid. © 2021 School of Science, IHU. Myelin damage and a wide range of symptoms are caused by the immune system targeting the central nervous system in Multiple Sclerosis(MS),a chronic autoimmune neurological *** disrupts signals between the brain and body,causing symptoms including tiredness,muscle weakness,and difficulty with memory and *** methods for detecting MS are less precise and time-consuming,which is a major gap in addressing this *** gap has motivated the investigation of new methods to improve MS detection consistency and *** paper proposed a novel approach named FAD consisting of Deep Neural Network(DNN)fused with an Artificial Neural Network(ANN)to detect MS with more efficiency and accuracy,utilizing regularization and combat *** use gene expression data for MS research in the GEO GSE17048 *** dataset is preprocessed by performing encoding,standardization using min-max-scaler,and feature selection using Recursive Feature Elimination with Cross-Validation(RFECV)to optimize and refine the ***,for experimenting with the dataset,another deep-learning hybrid model is integrated with different ML models,including Random Forest(RF),Gradient Boosting(GB),XGBoost(XGB),K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN)and Decision Tree(DT).Results reveal that FAD performed exceptionally well on the dataset,which was evident with an accuracy of 96.55%and an F1-score of 96.71%.The use of the proposed FAD approach helps in achieving remarkable results with better accuracy than previous studies.

Improved Feed-Forward Control of Active Power Decoupler for PV Microinverter With Non-Sinusoidal Power Decoupling Capability

In single-phase power conversion systems, there is an inherent difference between the dc-side constant and ac-side oscillating power, and power decoupling is required especially in applications like photovoltaic (PV) inverters. Active power decoupling (APD) converters are often used to balance instantaneous power while reducing the size of dc link capacitors and improving the system reliability. Conventionally, APD converters are controlled to decouple only sinusoidal power at double-line frequency. However, the control is further complicated when non-sinusoidal power is delivered due to non-linear circuit components, non-linear loads, or grid distortions. This paper proposes an improved feed-forward APD control scheme with the capability of decoupling non-sinusoidal power, which has application in single-phase systems, particularly all types of PV microinverters. The proposed feed-forward control includes the capacitor voltage calculation under arbitrary power harmonics and a dead-time compensation to increase the accuracy of duty prediction. The proposed algorithm can work as open-loop control to eliminate APD sensors and can serve as a feed-forward term in closed-loop control to improve power decoupling performance, thereby simplifying the controller design. The proposed approach is experimentally verified using a dc-parallel APD prototype, a 50 V 250 W microinverter with non-linear ac capacitor, and a diode rectifier load. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

Reverberation is ubiquitous in everyday listening environments, from meeting rooms to concert halls and recording studios. While reverberation is usually described by the reverberation time, getting further insight concerning the characteristics of a room requires to conduct acoustic measurements and calculate each reverberation parameter manually. In this study, we propose ReverbNet, an end-to-end deep learning-based system to non-intrusively estimate multiple reverberation parameters from a single speech utterance. The proposed approach is evaluated using simulated room reverberation by two popular effect processors. We show that the proposed approach can jointly estimate multiple reverberation parameters from speech signals and can generalise to unseen speakers and diverse simulated environments. The results also indicate that the use of multiple branches disentangles the embedding space from misalignments between input features and subtasks. © (2022) by the Audio engineering Society All rights reserved.

Weakly supervised video object segmentation (WSVOS) enables the identification of segmentation maps without requiring extensive annotations of object masks, relying instead on coarse video labels indicating object presence. WSVOS in surgical videos is, however, more challenging due to the complex interaction of multiple transient objects, such as surgical tools moving in and out of the surgical field. In this scenario, state-of-the-art WSVOS methods struggle to learn accurate segmentation maps. We address this problem by introducing ViDeo Spatio-Temporal disentanglement Networks (VDST-Net), a framework to disentangle complex spatio-temporal object interactions using semi-decoupled knowledge distillation to predict high-quality class activation maps (CAMs). A teacher network is designed to help a temporal-reasoning student network resolve activation conflicts, as the student leverages temporal dependencies when specifics about object location and timing in the video are not provided. We demonstrate the efficacy of our framework on a challenging surgical video dataset where objects are, on average, present in less than 60% of annotated frames, and compare our method to state-of-the-art methods on surgical data and on a public dataset commonly used to benchmark WSVOS. Our method outperforms state-of-the-art techniques and generates accurate segmentation masks under video-level weak supervision. Our code is available at: https://***/PCASOlab/VDST-net.

Semiconductor design houses rely on third-party foundries to manufacture their integrated circuits (ICs). While this trend allows them to tackle fabrication costs, it introduces security concerns as external (and potentially malicious) parties can access critical parts of the designs and steal or modify the intellectual property (IP). Embedded field-programmable gate array (eFPGA) redaction is a promising technique to protect critical IPs of an ASIC by redacting (i.e., removing) critical parts and mapping them onto a custom reconfigurable fabric. Only trusted parties will receive the correct bitstream to restore the redacted functionality. While previous studies imply that using an eFPGA is a sufficient condition to provide security against IP threats like reverse-engineering, whether this truly holds for all eFPGA architectures is unclear, thus motivating the study in this article. We examine the security of eFPGA fabrics generated by varying different FPGA design parameters. We characterize the power, performance, and area (PPA) characteristics and evaluate each fabric's resistance to Boolean satisfiability (SAT)-based bitstream recovery. Our results encourage designers to work with custom eFPGA fabrics rather than off-The-shelf commercial FPGAs and reveals that only considering a redaction fabric's bitstream size is inadequate for gauging security. © 1993-2012 IEEE.

This paper highlights the importance of the wake-up receiver in applications using WSN while offering a brief description of this element. In this work, the design of a low-power envelope detector for wake-up receiver applications is presented. By using RF-TSMC CMOS 0.18μm, the proposed envelope circuit is designed for 52 GHz frequency. The forward body biasing method is employed to decrease the circuit energy consumption. The proposed circuit can achieve 152MHz cut-off frequency over the operating frequency range and has power dissipation of 87.5μW under 1V. © 2023 IEEE.

Pneumonia is an infectious disease of the lungs, caused by viruses, bacteria or fungi. Pneumonia is distinguished by acute inflammation of the lung tissue, causing the consolidation of the terminal bronchioles and alveoli. According to the WHO (the World Health Organization), this disease causes about 4 million deaths. Among the methods of diagnosing pneumonia uses a chest X-ray. This is widely used to visualize pulmonary abnormalities. This work aims at the detection and characterization of pneumonia by the development of computer-assisted diagnosis systems (DAOC). We use deep learning algorithms and chest X-ray images from a pneumonia database to examine the classification of pneumonia. To improve the accuracy, we compare several deep learning models. This research contributes to meeting the growing demand for medical personnel by addressing the global incidence of chest disorders. © 2024 IEEE.

The integration of electric vehicles (EVs) into the electric power distribution system poses numerous challenges and opportunities for optimizing energy management and system operations. Electric vehicle grid interfaces (EVGIs), essentially bidirectional power converters, allow for charging/grid-to-vehicle (G2V) and discharging/vehicle-to-grid (V2G) power transfers. A power dispatch estimation (PDE) model for V2G, based on availability of EVs in a distribution system and capabilities of the distribution system, is needed to assist in grid operations. This paper presents the development of a PDE model based on nodal power flows to capture the complex spatiotemporal dependencies inherent in G2V and V2G patterns. The hierarchical structure of a distribution system, feeder to EVGI node, is taken into consideration for PDE. Typical PDE estimation results are presented for the IEEE 34 test node feeder distribution system allocated with EVGIs.
