He received the B. Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Concordia University Montreal Canada in 1989. He is at present completing the M.A.Sc. degree in electrical engineering at Concordia University. (S'75–S'79–M'79–SM'86) received the Ph.D. degree from Southern Methodist University Dallas TX in 1979. He spent the next two years working as a Visiting Professor in Egypt after which he moved to Ottawa Canada in 1982. He assumed teaching and research positions in Carleton and Manitoba Univerities and later moved to Concordia University Montreal Canada in 1983 where he is now a Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. He has published numerous papers in IEEE and international journals in the areas of spread spectrum and networking. He is a well-known expert in these areas and serves as a consultant to many companies. His current research interests include wide-band metropolitan networks switching architectures and performance of on-board multibeam satellites acquisitionless CDMA networks code distribution and orthogonalization of CDMA signals responsive congestion control for ATM-based networks ARQ techniques and investigation of the novel SUGAR CDMA systems in fading channels. Dr. Elhakeem is a Senior Member of the Canadian Electrical Engineering Society and Armed Forces Association. He has chaired numerous technical sessions in IEEE Conferences was the Technical Program Chairman for IEEE Montech 1986 Montreal Canada. Dr. Elhakeem is the key guest editor of theIEEE Journal of Selected Areas in Communicationsfor the May June issues 1993 covering CDMA networks. 作者: HARDER, G MARTIN, RA PE George Harder:is an electronics engineer for Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment Norfolk's Electromagnetic Engineering Branch located at the Norfolk Shipboard Electronic Systems Evaluation Facility (SESEF) site. He is responsible for fleet electromagnetic readiness (FEMR) inspections on board Navy ships and provides computer programming support to SESEF. Mr. Harder has a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and has qualified for his professional engineering license in the state of Virginia. Robert A. Martin:is a supervisor electronics engineer employed by the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Detachment Norfolk. He functions as the branch head for the Electromagnetic Engineering Office which is responsible for the operation of the Norfolk Shipboard Electronic Systems Evaluation Facility (SESEF) and the Fleet Electromagnetic Readiness (FEMR) Program. Stimson:received his B.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1964 and his M.S. degree in engineering from the University of Santa Clara in 1971. Mr. Stimson was employed in the aerospace industry for ten years then joined the Naval Ship Weapon Systems Engineering Station in Port Hueneme Calif in 1973. At NSWSES he served ten years as a ship qualification trials project supervisor and seven years as program manager of the Master Ordnance Repair Program. Today Mr. Stimson lives in Charlottesville Va. and is a Ph.D candidate in systems engineering at the University of Virginia majoring in quality management and statistical quality control. Ernest Martinez:received his B.S. degree in computer sciences from National University in 1985. Mr. Martinez was head of combat systems at the Naval Ship Repair Facility Yokosuka Japan for five years returning in 1983 to the Naval Sea Support Center Pacific San Diego Calif. During the next five years he managed the Fleet Modernization Program and was coordinator of the Combat System Readiness Test Program. Today Mr. Martinez lives in San Diego and is employed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Calif. as MOR program manager.

Rautio:founded Sonnet Software a developer of 3-D planar electromagnetic microwave software in 1983 with support from the David Sarnoff Research Center Hewlett Packard General Electric and Syracuse University. He has served as a visiting member of the faculty at Syracuse University and as an adjunct faculty member at Cornell University teaching microwave and computer courses as well as pursuing research in electromagnetics. Dr. Rautio previously worked in General Electric's Space Division and Electronics Laboratory. He designed microwave circuits including filters for a Landsat receiver and various GaAs microwave integrated circuits. He also developed microwave and millimeter wave automated measurement equipment and wrote a large microwave circuit analysis program. 作者: MITTURA, A KARP, MS PE Andrew Mittura:is currently a senior program engineer with SYSCON Corp. He began his career in the Combat System Installation and Integration Office of NavSea in 1978. He has worked as a system engineer on the Seafire program at NSWCDD on the NATO Anti-air Warfare Program while at FMC Corporation and for the past four years on the Aegis Combat System with SYSCON. Current efforts include performance assessment studies of the Aegis combat system and combat system architecture and connectivity analysis. Mr. Mittura received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Penn State University in 1978 and an M.S. in engineering management from Catholic University of America in 1982. He is a licensed professional engineer with the State of Virginia. Mitchel S. Karp:cofounded K&K Software Engineering Inc. in February 1970. He is currently secretary/treasurer and senior system engineer. His involvement in combat systems began with NTDS in 1963. He has been involved in the Aegis Program since 1968 and has worked in all aspects of combat system development including computer programming tactical analysis software development and management. He has given several seminars on real-time software development and documentation. He currently is working under contracts to NSWCDD in the areas of combat system architecture and connectivity configuration management and documentation. Mr. Karp received a B.S. in engineering physics from Lehigh University in 1958.

He is responsible for software development and special trials support. He has led the Flooding Casualty Control Software (FCCS) development effort since joining AME in 1989. He is also responsible for the material handling strikedown and stowage (MHS&S) software development program as well as special trials support for the ACVLAP and T-AGOS 19 programs. Prior to joining AME Mr. Zahn spent nine years with various companies of the ARCTEC Group. His experience includes field trials in venues from the Caribbean to the Bering Sea as well as model tests and engineering design and development efforts. Mr. Zahn received his B.S. in naval architecture and marine engineering from Webb Institute in 1980 and has published various papers on pollution prevention offshore systems and icebreaker design and performance. He is a member of ASNE and SNAME. John Rosborough:has been a naval architect for the Naval Sea Systems Command (NavSea) for the past 15 years. He is currently assigned to the Hydrodynamics Division with responsibility for aircraft carrier stability evaluations and as a task leader for computer-aided ship design development. In the Stability Division he was previously responsible for stability analyses on various amphibious ships SWATHs and foreign ships. He manages the upgrade and augmentation of SHCP at NavSea and is the Navy's technical point of contact for evaluating shipboard stability software and transitioning technology to the fleet. Mr. Rosborough received his B.S. in naval architecture and marine engineering from the University of Michigan in 1977. Bamberger:was born on January 30 1965 in Buenos Aires Argentina. He received his B.E.E and PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1986 and 1990 respectively. Currently Dr. Bamberger is an assistant professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Washington State University. Dr. Bamberger's research program is focused on the design implementation and application of multidimensional multirate filter banks subband image and video compression analysis of nonstationary data and application of digital signal processing techniques in the design of analog and mixed-mode integrated circuits. Dr. Bamberger is the founder and director of the Signal Processing Instructional Facility (SPIF Lab) at Washington State University. The SPIF Lab features interactive multimedia-based tools for teaching concepts related to linear systems theory.
