Tuna fishing in Indonesia is excessive and if left unchecked, some types of tuna will become extinct within 3-10 years. There is an urgent need to help MMAF for producing more accurate fish catches data. This paper proposed a system that utilizes computer vision, fuzzy logic and Global Positioning System (GPS) for supporting a sustainableIndonesian fishery by recognizing and measuring fish length, determine fish age and where is the catch location. The system can help authority to manage sustainable fisheries management in Indonesia. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

It is necessary to study technical factors such as bait used, oceanographic conditions of fishing areas and skipjack tuna trade patterns (Katsuwonus pelamis) as well as other factors in Sulawesi Fisheries. Supporting data to study these technical factors need to be obtained so that it can be improved throughout the year as a skipjack fishing standard with weights taken by the skipjack weights. Therefore, drones and underwater drones with cameras with high-resolution video and images to be fed and processed by computer vision. These drones are operated via Huhate ships which are then used to test efficient technical factors as expected, can be used in determining the size, shape, and colour as well as the analysis of skipjack fish that are in the Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs or Rumpon) in order to manage the management of fisheries managed in Indonesia. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Support Vector Regression (SVR) is often used in forecasting. Adjustment of parameters in the SVR affects the results of forecasting. This study aims to analyze the SVR method that is optimized using Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO), hereinafter referred to as HHO-SVR. The HHO-SVR was evaluated using five benchmark datasets to determine the performance of this method. The HHO process is also compared based on the type of kernel and other metaheuristic algorithms. The results showed that the HHO-SVR has almost the same performance as other methods but is less efficient in terms of time. In addition, the type of kernel also affects the process and results.

Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) refers to the use of AI to automate the information creation process while fulfilling the personalized requirements of users. However, due to the instability of AIGC models, e.g., the stochastic nature of diffusion models, the quality and accuracy of the generated content can vary significantly. In wireless edge networks, the transmission of incorrectly generated content may unnecessarily consume network resources. Thus, a dynamic AIGC service provider (ASP) selection scheme is required to enable users to connect to the most suited ASP, improving the users’ satisfaction and quality of generated content. In this article, we first review the AIGC techniques and their applications in wireless networks. We then present the AIGC-as-a-service (AaaS) concept and discuss the challenges in deploying AaaS at the edge networks. Yet, it is essential to have performance metrics to evaluate the accuracy of AIGC services. Thus, we introduce several image-based perceived quality evaluation metrics. Then, we propose a general and effective model to illustrate the relationship between computational resources and user-perceived quality evaluation metrics. To achieve efficient AaaS and maximize the quality of generated content in wireless edge networks, we propose a deep reinforcement learning-enabled algorithm for the optimal ASP selection. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can provide a higher quality of generated content to users and achieve fewer crashed tasks by comparing with four benchmarks, i.e., overloading-avoidance, random, round-robin policies, and the upper-bound schemes. © 2023, CC BY.

Drying has been an eco-friendly and cost-efficient method to reduce post-harvest losses of agricultural crops. In various countries, the technique has been widely utilized in the form of Solar Dryer Dome (SDD) buildings. Accurate indoor microclimate forecasting is very important to implement smart control systems in SDDs that can maintain the ideal conditions, as the availability of solar energy is limited only at daytimes and the temperature may drop significantly during nighttimes in remote areas. The microclimate variables that play an important role in maintaining ideal environmental conditions include temperature and relative humidity. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

To emulate human emotions in robots, the mathematical representation of emotion is important for each component of affective computing, such as emotion recognition, generation, and expression. In a method that learns DNN from unimodality and represents emotions by vectors of continuous values (Emotional Space), the acquired Emotional Space is likely to depend on the modality, and considering the number of dimensions of Emotional Space is necessary. In this study, we aim at the acquisition of modality independent Emotional Space. We propose a method of acquiring Emotional Space by integrating multimodalities on a DNN and combining the emotion recognition task and unification task of Emotional Space of each modality. Through the experiments with audio-visual data, we confirmed in various dimensions of Emotional Space that there are differences in Emotional Space acquired from unimodality, and the proposed method can acquire a modality independent Emotional Space. We also investigated the compatibility of the recognition and the unification score by changing the number of dimensions of Emotional Space. Finally, we indicate the proposed method can acquire sufficient Emotional Space with a small number of dimensions, such as five or six dimensions, under this paper's experimental conditions. © 2020 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

On Data-Driven Prescriptive Analytics with Side Information: A Regularized Nadaraya-Watson Approach

We consider generic stochastic optimization problems in the presence of side information which enables a more insightful decision. The side information constitutes observable exogenous covariates that alter the conditional probability distribution of the random problem parameters. A decision maker who adapts her decisions according to the observed side information solves an optimization problem where the objective function is specified by the conditional expectation of the random cost. If the joint probability distribution is unknown, then the conditional expectation can be approximated in a data-driven manner using the Nadaraya-Watson (NW) kernel regression. While the emerging approximation scheme has found successful applications in diverse decision problems under uncertainty, it is largely unknown whether the scheme can provide any reasonable out-of-sample performance guarantees. In this paper, we establish guarantees for the generic problems by leveraging techniques from moderate deviations theory. Our analysis motivates the use of a variance-based regularization scheme which, in general, leads to a non-convex optimization problem. We adopt ideas from distributionally robust optimization to obtain tractable formulations. Cardiovascular disease is difficult to detect due to several risk factors, including high blood pressure, cholesterol, and an abnormal pulse rate. Accurate decision-making and optimal treatment are required to address cardiac risk. As machine learning technology advances, the healthcare industry's clinical practice is likely to change. As a result, researchers and clinicians must recognize the importance of machine learning techniques. The main objective of this research is to recommend a machine learning-based cardiovascular disease prediction system that is highly accurate. In contrast, modern machine learning algorithms such as REP Tree, M5P Tree, Random Tree, Linear Regression, Naive Bayes, J48, and JRIP are used to classify popular cardiovascular datasets. The proposed CDPS's performance was evaluated using a variety of metrics to identify the best suitable machine learning model. When it came to predicting cardiovascular disease patients, the Random Tree model performed admirably, with the highest accuracy of 100%, the lowest MAE of 0.0011, the lowest RMSE of 0.0231, and the fastest prediction time of 0.01 seconds. © 2022 Rajkumar Gangappa Nadakinamani et al.

With recent advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, unmanned vehicle swarms have received great attention from both academia and industry due to their potential to provide services that are difficult and dangerous to perform by humans. However, learning and coordinating movements and actions for a large number of unmanned vehicles in complex and dynamic environments introduce significant challenges to conventional AI methods. Generative AI (GAI), with its capabilities in complex data feature extraction, transformation, and enhancement, offers great potential in solving these challenges of unmanned vehicle swarms. For that, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive survey on applications, challenges, and opportunities of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms. Specifically, we first present an overview of unmanned vehicles and unmanned vehicle swarms as well as their use cases and existing issues. Then, an in-depth background of various GAI techniques together with their capabilities in enhancing unmanned vehicle swarms are provided. After that, we present a comprehensive review on the applications and challenges of GAI in unmanned vehicle swarms with various insights and discussions. Statistical analysis and data visualization of Indonesia and Malaysia SARS Cov-2 metadata

SARS CoV-2 is a fascinating topic to investigate, especially in Indonesia and Malaysia, which share similar racial demographics. However, statistical analysis of information on the SARS CoV-2 from a database, especially GISAID, does not contain specific customizations related to virus comparisons between selected countries. Therefore, the researchers conducted statistical analysis and data visualization using the Python programming language to describe and investigate SARS CoV-2 Indonesia and Malaysia from the GISAID database. SARS CoV-2 metadata from Indonesia (N=117) and Malaysia (N=250), which were gathered during 2020, were compared. This comparison was aimed to investigate the discrepancies of COVID-19 cases in closely related populations. Firstly, data visualization was conducted using the Python Matplotlib library to create bar charts for clades and mutation comparison. Additionally, a series of boxplots were generated to show age discrepancies stratified by gender. Furthermore, the statistical tests showed that only the dominant Malaysian (G and O) clades were found to be significantly different compared to Indonesian cases (p-value=0.016). The proportion of two major mutations (G614D and NSP12 P323L) were also significantly different in the two countries caused by the dominant clade differences (p-value=0.007). Lastly, the differences in the age distribution of COVID-19 cases between the two countries were significant only in the male group (p-value=0.017).
