Comparative Analysis of Ti,Ni,and Au Electrodes on Characteristics of TiO_2 Nanofibers for Humidity Sensor Application

The effect of metal （Ti, Ni, and Au） electrodes on humidity sensing properties of electrospun TiO2 nanofibers was investigated in this work. The devices were fabricated by evaporating metal contacts on SiO2 layer thermally grown on silicon substrate. The separation between the electrodes was 90 μm for all sensors. The sensors were tested from 40% to 90% relative humidity （RH） by AC electrical characterization at room temperature. When sensors are switched between 40% and 90% RH, the corresponding response and recovery time are 3 s and 5 s for Ti-electrode sensor, 4 s and 7 s for Ni-electrode sensor, and 7 s and 13 s for Au-electrode sensor. The hysteresis was 3%, 5% and 15% for sensitivity of Ti, Ni, and Au-electrode sensors are Ti-, Ni-, and Au-electrode sensor, respectively. The 7.53 MΩ/%RH, 5.29 MΩ/%RH and 4.01 MΩ/%RH respectively at 100 Hz. Therefore Ti-electrode sensor is found to have linear response, fast response and recovery time and higher sensitivity as compared with those of Ni- and Au-electrode sensors. Comparison of humidity sensing properties of sensors with different electrode material may propose a compelling route for designing and optimizing humidity sensors.

A method of adding radar absorbing materials (RAM) directly in silica phenolic composite was tested. Due to direct incorporation of RAM, the resultant composite not only may show microwave absorption at normal conditions but sustain this capability at high heat fluxes. Such RAM added composite becomes more applicable for materials, which are exposed to high temperatures. Two different RAM added silica fiber phenolic composites were developed and their RF-absorptions were compared with pure silica fiber phenolic sample. It was found that depending on the type of RAM their RF-absorption can be enhanced. Strength and ablation properties of the resultant composites were also found to alter with the addition of RAM in the composite. © 2018 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Correlation trackers are in use for the past four decades. Edge based correlation tracking algorithms have proved their strength for long term tracking, but these algorithms suffer from two major problems: clutter and slow occlusion. Thus, there is a requirement to improve the confidence measure regarding target and non-target object. In order to solve these problems, we present an "Edge Enhanced Fragment Based Normalized Correlation (EEFNC)" algorithm, in which we: (1) divide the target template into nine non-overlapping fragments after edge-enhancement, (2) correlate each fragment with the corresponding fragment of the template-size section in the search region, and (3) achieve the final similarity measure by averaging the correlation values obtained for every fragment. A fragment level template updating method is also proposed to make the template adaptive to the variation in the shape and appearance of the object in motion. We provide the experimental results which show that the proposed technique outperforms the recent Edge-Enhanced Normalized Correlation (EENC) tracking algorithm in occlusion and clutter. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Content-addressable memories (CAMs) are used in a variety of applications, such as IP filtering, data compression, and artificial neural networks due to its high-speed lookup. Fast field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) are nowadays used to emulate CAMs. These CAM emulations either make use of logical resources or use memory blocks on FPGAs to emulate CAMs. However, such CAM emulation suffers from slower mapping and updating mechanisms, which results in an unacceptable response in real-time applications. The slower response in update mechanism is proportionate to the CAM depth in the schemes. In this article, fast mapping and updating algorithms for a binary CAM (FMU-BiCAM) are presented, which efficiently utilizes lookup tables, slice registers, and block random access memories (RAMs) on Xilinx FPGA to emulate faster mapping and updating CAMs. The advantage of the proposed work lies in directly applying the CAM key as an address, which helps in updating contents in memory units. CAMs in the literature exhaust the entire CAM depth in remapping the CAM words along with the updating word, which leads to higher update latency. The proposed algorithms are implemented on Xilinx Virtex−6 FPGA, and the results show that the proposed method brings latency to only two clock cycles during update. © 2021 IEEE.

Tailoring microstructure and mechanical properties of aluminum matrix composites reinforced with novel Al/CuFe multi-layered core-shell particles

Aluminum matrix composites(AMCs), reinforced with novel pre-synthesized Al/Cu Fe multi-layered coreshell particles, were fabricated by different consolidation techniques to investigate their effect on microstructure and mechanical properties. To synthesize multi-layered Al/Cu Fe core-shell particles, Cu and Fe layers were deposited on Al powder particles by galvanic replacement and electroless plating method, respectively. The core-shell powder and sintered compacts were characterized by using X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDX), pycnometer, microhardness and compression tests. The results revealed that a higher extent of interfacial reactions, due to the transformation of the deposited layer into intermetallic phases in spark plasma sintered composite, resulted in high relative density(99.26%), microhardness(165 HV0.3) and strength(572 MPa). Further, the presence of un-transformed Cu in the shell structure of hot-pressed composite resulted in the highest fracture strain(20.4%). The obtained results provide stronger implications for tailoring the microstructure of AMCs through selecting appropriate sintering paths to control mechanical properties.

Tailless bioinspired flapping wings micro air vehicle (FWMAV) dependent systems have gained much importance in current years because of their exceptional traits such as agility, superior maneuverability, and compactness particularly in confined spaces. However, these traits have imposed various challenges in their design and development involving aerodynamics, structure, multibody dynamics, wings flexibility, fluid-structure interaction, control, and insect-scale hardware. Previous studies have mostly dealt with longitudinal stability and have ignored multibody dynamics effects. The current study compares the effect of measured hawkmoth and simplified sinusoidal (more practical for control implementation) wing kinematics on lateral motion stability characteristics of a hawkmoth-like multibody FWMAV in both hovering and forward flight. A multibody dynamics (MBD) simulation environment is employed that incorporates the time dependent inertia effects of all the system parts and flapping wings. The multibody dynamics environment is attached to a modified quasi-steady (QS) aerodynamic model for analyzing the hovering and forward flight lateral dynamics characteristics. A gradient-dependent trim searching algorithm that involves system dynamics-aerodynamics coupling is implemented to get precise trim conditions at various flight speeds by solving fully coupled nonlinear six degrees of freedom (6-DOF) equations of motion. For obtaining stability derivatives at each flight speed, trim conditions are searched numerically to obtain accurate trim flight trajectories using the gradient of control effectiveness matrices. Lateral dynamics characteristics of the FWMAV in hovering along with forward flight are analyzed using eigenmode analysis for both the measured hawkmoth and simplified sinusoidal wing kinematics. Liver tumor is the fifth most occurring type of tumor in men and the ninth most occurring type of tumor in women according to recent reports of Global cancer statistics *** are several imaging tests like Computed Tomography(CT),Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI),and ultrasound that can diagnose the liver tumor after taking the sample from the tissue of the *** tests are costly and *** paper proposed that image processing through deep learning Convolutional Neural Network(CNNs)ResUNet model that can be helpful for the early diagnose of tumor instead of conventional *** existing studies have mainly used the two Cascaded CNNs for liver segmentation and evaluation of Region Of Interest(ROI).This study uses ResUNet,an updated version of U-Net and ResNet Models that utilize the service of Residential *** apply over method on the 3D-IRCADb01 dataset that is based on CT slices of liver tumor affected *** results showed the True Value Accuracy around 99%and F1 score performance around 95%.This method will be helpful for early and accurate diagnose of the Liver tumor to save the lives of many patients in the field of Biotechnology.

This research aimed to analyze the effects of both without aggregation and with aggregation of nanoparticles (i.e., titania-ethylene glycol (Formula presented.)) on the velocity and temperature profiles over a permeable MHD stretching/shrinking (Formula presented.) sheet with permeability parameter (Formula presented.) and thermal radiation (Formula presented.). For the purpose of studying nanoparticle aggregation, the improved Maxwell-Bruggeman and Krieger-Dougarty models are applied. By applying the similarity transformation, the simple partial differential equations that arise from mathematical modeling are transformed into nonlinear ordinary differential equations. The calculated nonlinear equation is then numerically solved using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg 4th-5th (RKF45) order method with shooting technique and analytically via the Adomian decomposition method (ADM). For validation, the outcomes of this inquiry are linked with those outcomes that are available in the literature. In addition, the acquired analytical ADM data are compared to numerical RKF45, homotopy analysis method (HAM)-package values, and those given in the literature. It is found that the skin friction coefficient is also lower in the presence of aggregation effects than in the absence of such effects. Furthermore, when the sheet is shrinking, the heat transport (HT) coefficient decreases and increases, respectively, with stretching. The aggregation of nanoparticles reduces the HT coefficient. © 2025 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

The article discusses the suitability of several existing empirical models for determining the safe separation distances (SSDs) for waste fuels. Contour plots of SSDs are generated based on isotropic thermal radiation model for safely storing municipal solid waste (MSW) bales under different storage settings and the plots can be employed for routine hazard assessment purposes. Further, experimental design technique was employed, and orthogonal test matrices were generated to conduct the experiments for studying the combustion dynamics of the primary fire under the influence of storage settings of surrounding fuel units. The main and interaction effects of various storage parameters (e.g., height of adjacent fuel sources, clearance between fuel sources and array size) on the response variables (flame height and burn out time) were studied. A list of appropriate measures for minimising the risk of secondary fires at MSW bale storage sites is provided. © 2024 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
