Molecular dynamics simulation emerges as an important area that HPC+AI helps to investigate the physical properties, with machine-learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs) being used. General-purpose machine-learning (ML) tools have been leveraged in MLIPs, but they are not perfectly matched with each other, since many optimization opportunities in MLIPs have been missed by ML tools. This inefficiency arises from the fact that HPC+AI applications work with far more computational complexity compared with pure AI scenarios. This paper has developed an MLIP, named TensorMD, independently from any ML tool. TensorMD has been evaluated on two supercomputers and scaled to 51.8 billion atoms, i.e., ~ 3× compared with state-of-the-art.

This paper finds a way to extend the well-known Fourier methods, to so-called n+1 directions partition domains in n-dimension. In particular, in 2-D and 3-D cases, we study Fourier methods over 3-direction parallel hexagon partitions and 4-direction parallelparallelogram dodecahedron partitions, respectively. It has pointed that, the most concepts and results of Fourier methods on tensor-product case, such as periodicity,orthogonality of Fourier basis system, partial sum of Fourier series and its approximation behavior, can be moved on the new non tensor-product partition case.

In this paper, two new nonconforming hexagonal elements are presented, which are based on the trilinear function space Q1^(3) and are edge-oriented, analogical to the case of the rotated Q1 quadrilateral element. A priori error estimates are given to show that the new elements achieve first-order accuracy in the energy norm and second-order accuracy in the L^2 norm. This theoretical result is confirmed by the numerical tests.

OWL and RDF/RDFS are ontological languages developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3), which have become a de facto standard for the, ontological descriptions in various domains. The evolution of these standards was influenced by the numerous advances in the research of knowledge representation and reasoning. Although support for reasoning and standardized representation is the key benefit, of these technologies, there is a lack of existing test, frameworks, which would be capable of addressing many crucial aspects of the Semantic Web applications. In this paper we propose a methodology for automated testing of OWL reasoners based on the real-world ontologies. This specification covers both terminological and assertional reasoning as well as checking of the correctness of the answers. An open-source implementation of such framework is described and a study of initial result is provided. The tests cover an extensive set of reasoners and ontologies and provide a state-of-the-art insight, into the field of OWL reasoning.

In this paper we present design and development of a knowledge framework for grid and web service-based workflow composition and execution. We highlight the corresponding architecture and the process of service annotation, discovery and composition in the project K-WfGrid [5]. We describe in detail the challenges of a flood-forecasting application and corresponding design and development of the service oriented model, which is based on the well known Web Service Resource Framework (WSRF). Semantic descriptions of the WSRF services are presented as well as the architecture, which exploits semantics in discovery and composition of service workflows. Further, we demonstrate how experience management solutions can aid the process of collaborative service discovery and composition. The whole K-Wf Grid system provides a unique approach in Semantic Grids by combining the advances of semantic web services and grid architectures.
