In this work, characteristic fluctuation of undoped gate-all-around silicon nanowire MOSFETs induced by random discrete dopants (RDDs) penetrating from the source/drain (S/D) extensions is explored. Compared with the results of RDDs penetrating from the S extension, asymmetric variations of characteristics induced by RDDs penetrating from the D extension are suppressed owing to the different extent of screening effect on the surface of channel;in particular, the fluctuations of voltage gain and cut-off frequency are reduced from 24% and 21% to 7% and 10%, respectively, because of the effective fluctuation reduction of maximum transconductance near the D extension.

Exploring the robustness of features and enhancement on speech recognition systems in highly-reverberant real environments

This paper evaluates the robustness of a DNN-HMM-based speech recognition system in highly-reverberant real environments using the HRRE database. The performance of locally-normalized filter bank (LNFB) and Mel filter bank (MelFB) features in combination with Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF), Suppression of Slowly-varying components and the Falling edge (SSF) and Weighted Prediction Error (WPE) enhancement methods are discussed and evaluated. Two training conditions were considered: Clean and reverberated (Reverb). With Reverb training the use of WPE and LNFB provides WERs that are 3% and 20% lower in average than SSF and NMF, respectively. WPE and MelFB provides WERs that are 11% and 24% lower in average than SSF and NMF, respectively. With clean training, which represents a significant mismatch between testing and training conditions, LNFB features clearly outperform MelFB features. The results show that different types of training, parametrization, and enhancement techniques may work better for a specific combination of speaker-microphone distance and reverberation time. This suggests that there could be some degree of complementarity between systems trained with different enhancement and parametrization methods. Purpose: To rapidly obtain high isotropic-resolution T2 maps with whole-brain coverage and high geometric fidelity. Methods: A T2 blip-up/down echo planar imaging (EPI) acquisition with generalized Slice-dithered enhanced resolution (T2-BUDA-gSlider) is proposed. A radiofrequency (RF)-encoded multi-slab spin-echo EPI acquisition with multiple echo times (TEs) was developed to obtain high SNR efficiency with reduced repetition time (TR). This was combined with an interleaved 2-shot EPI acquisition using blip-up/down phase encoding. An estimated field map was incorporated into the joint multi-shot EPI reconstruction with a structured low rank constraint to achieve distortion-free and robust reconstruction for each slab without navigation. A Bloch simulated subspace model was integrated into gSlider reconstruction and utilized for T2 quantification. Results: In vivo results demonstrated that the T2 values estimated by the proposed method were consistent with gold standard spin-echo acquisition. Compared to the reference 3D fast spin echo (FSE) images, distortion caused by off-resonance and eddy current effects were effectively mitigated. Conclusion: BUDA-gSlider SE-EPI acquisition and gSlider-subspace joint reconstruction enabled distortion-free whole-brain T2 mapping in 2 min at ~1 mm3 isotropic resolution, which could bring significant benefits to related clinical and neuroscience applications. A Geometric Approach to Second-Order Consensus of Heterogeneous Networked Systems

This paper investigates second-order consensus of networked systems with heterogeneous intrinsic nonlinear dynamics via a geometrical method, in which the nonlinear dynamics are governed by both velocity and position. First, two necessary conditions are deduced for the existence of consensus solutions by analyzing the inherent nonlinear dynamics of isolated nodes. Then a closed invariant set is constructed via geometrical methods. The nonempty of the set implies the existence of consensus solution. Assuming that the primary and the second dimension about the above invariant set are the same linear subspace, the system can be divided into two simple subsystems through a linear transformation. In addition, some sufficient conditions are proposed for reaching the global consensus based on matrix theory and Lyapunov method. Finally, numerical simulation results are provided to illustrate the validity of theoretical analysis. IEEE

Characterization of nanomaterial morphologies with advanced microscopy and/or spectroscopy tools plays an indispensable role in nanoscience and nanotechnology research 1 2, 3, 4, 5, as rich information about the chemical compositions, crystallography, other physical and chemical properties, as well as the growth mechanism can be extracted from morphology analysis. However, the interpretation of imaging data heavily relies on the "intuition" of experienced researchers. As a result, many of the deep graphical features are often unused because of difficulties in processing the data and finding the correlations. Such difficulties can be well addressed by deep learning 6 7, 8, 9. In this work, we use the optical characterization of two-dimensional (2D) materials as a case study, and demonstrate a neural network based algorithm for the material and thickness identification of exfoliated 2D materials with high prediction accuracy and real-time processing capability. Further analysis shows that the trained network can be used to predict physical properties of the materials. Finally, a transfer learning technique is applied to adapt the pretrained network to more optical characterization applications such as identifying layer numbers of chemically synthesized graphene domains. Ring oscillator physical unclonable function(RO PUF) and multiplexer physical unclonable function(MUX PUF)are the two mostly used structures that make use of gate delay,but their reliability is not satisfactory *** this paper,a new structure,duty cycle multiplexer physical unclonable function(DC MUX PUF) is proposed to improve the reliability.A feed-back structure is added to original MUX PUF and decision method is also changed by measuring duty *** a simplified model is built to calculate the reliability of DC MUX PUF,a primary Monte Carlo simulation with this model is *** reliability of DC MUX PUF and the original MUX PUF are compared,and it is suggested that DC MUX PUF performs better than original MUX PUF considering noise *** temperature variation is considered,and simulated by *** is suggested that reliability of them are both above 95% when temperature *** and randomness are all more than 90%.Then the complexity of two kinds of PUF are also taken into *** challenge length becomes long,complexity of this design is relatively lower than original MUX PUF.

Although chaotic signals are considered to have great potential applications in radar and communication engineering, their broadband spectrum makes it difficult to design an applicable amplifier or an attenuator for amplitude conditioning. Moreover, the transformation between a unipolar signal and a bipolar signal is often required. In this paper, a more intelligent hardware implementation based on field programmable analog array （FPAA） is constructed for chaotic systems with complete amplitude control. Firstly, two chaotic systems with complete amplitude control are introduced, one of which has the property of offset boosting with total amplitude control, while the other has offset boosting and a parameter for partial control. Both cases can achieve complete amplitude control including amplitude rescaling and offset boosting. Secondly, linear synchronization is established based on the special structure of chaotic system. Finally, experimental circuits are constructed on an FPAA where the predicted amplitude control is realized through only two independent configurable analog module （CAM） gain values.
