In this paper, we present OpenMedIA, an open-source toolbox library containing a rich set of deep learning methods for medical image analysis under heterogeneous Artificial Intelligence (AI) computing platforms. Various medical image analysis methods, including 2D/3D medical image classification, segmentation, localisation, and detection, have been included in the toolbox with PyTorch and/or MindSpore implementations under heterogeneous NVIDIA and Huawei Ascend computing systems. To our best knowledge, OpenMedIA is the first open-source algorithm library providing compared PyTorch and MindSpore implementations and results on several benchmark datasets. 科学正在进入一个新时代——第五范式——它被认为是知识整合到不同领域的主要特征,是基于无所不在的机器学习系统的计算社区中智能驱动的工作。在此,我们通过在天河一号超级计算机系统上构建的催化材料专门设计的典型平台案例,生动地阐明了第五范式的本质,旨在促进第五范式在其他领域的培养。第五范式平台主要包括模型自动构建(原始数据提取)、指纹自动构建(神经网络特征选择)以及跨学科知识串联的重复迭代(“火山图”)。与分解一起进行的是对迭代中实现的体系结构的性能评估。通过讨论,第五范式的智能驱动平台可以极大地简化和改进研究中极其繁琐和具有挑战性的工作,并通过补偿机器学习中缺少样本和替代一些由于计算资源不足而导致的数值计算来实现数值计算与机器学习之间的相互反馈,从而加速探索过程。在数据驱动的学科中,跨学科专家的协同作用和对动态数据需求的急剧增长仍然是一个挑战。我们相信,对第五范式平台的一瞥可以为其在其他领域的应用铺平道路。

Instant delivery has become a fundamental service in people's daily lives. Different from the traditional express service, the instant delivery has a strict shipping time constraint after being ordered. However, the labor shortage makes it challenging to realize efficient instant delivery. To tackle the problem, researchers have studied to introduce vehicles (i.e., taxis) or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or drones) into instant delivery tasks. Unfortunately, the delivery detour of taxis and the limited battery of UAVs make it hard to meet the rapidly increasing instant delivery demands. Under this circumstance, this paper proposes an air-ground cooperative instant delivery paradigm to maximize the delivery performance and meanwhile minimize the negative effects on the taxi passengers. Specifically, a data-driven delivery potential-demands-aware cooperative strategy is designed to improve the overall delivery performance of both UAVs and taxis as well as the taxi passengers' experience. The experimental results show that the proposed method improves the delivery number by 30.1% and 114.5% compared to the taxi-based and UAV-based instant delivery respectively, and shortens the delivery time by 35.7% compared to the taxi-based instant delivery.

With serverless computing offering more efficient and cost-effective application deployment, the diversity of serverless platforms presents challenges to users, including platform lock-in and costly migration. Moreover, due to the black box nature of function computing, traditional performance benchmarking methods are not applicable, necessitating new studies. This article presents a detailed comparison of six major public cloud function computing platforms and introduces a benchmarking framework for function computing performance. This framework aims to help users make comprehensive comparisons and select the most suitable platform for their specific needs.

In response to the substantial threat that Internet attacks pose to data center network security, researchers have proposed several deep learning-based methods for detecting network intrusions. However, while algorithms are constantly improving in terms of accuracy, their stability in the face of insufficient attack samples is a major obstacle. To solve the issues of insufficient attack samples and low detection accuracy in network intrusion detection, this paper proposes a deep confidence network intrusion detection method G-DBN based on GAN. The model is based on the malicious sample extension of the generative adversarial network, and it can produce adversarial samples using malicious network flows as original samples. Furthermore, this paper uses deep belief network technology to create and assess the efficacy of the G-DBN model in detecting network attacks, comparing it to standard DBN models and other network intrusion detection techniques. Experimental results show that compared to the standard three-layer DBN method, the G-DBN method described in this paper improves the detection accuracy of attack samples by 6.46% and better meets the performance requirements of current practical applications.

With the increasing adoption of graph neural networks (GNNs) in the graph-based deep learning community, various graph programming frameworks and models have been developed to improve the productivity of GNNs. The current GNN frameworks choose GPU as an essential tool to accelerate GNN training. However, it is still challenging to train GNNs on large graphs with limited GPU memory. Unlike traditional neural networks, generating mini-batch data by sampling in GNNs requires some complicated tasks such as traversing the graph to select neighboring nodes and gathering their features. This process takes up most of the training and we find the main bottleneck comes from transferring nodes features from CPU to GPU through limited bandwidth. In this paper, We propose a method Reusing Batch Data for the problem of data transmission. This method utilizes the similarity between adjacent mini-batches to reduce repeated data transmission from CPU to GPU. Furthermore, to reduce the overhead introduced by this method, we design a fast algorithm based on GPU to detect repeated nodes’ data and achieve shorter additional computation time. Evaluations on three representative GNN models show that our method can reduce transmission time by up to 60% and speed the end-to-end GNN training by up to 1.79× over the state-ofthe-art baselines. Besides, Reusing Batch Data can effectively save GPU memory footprint by about 19% to 40% while still reducing the training time compared to the static cache strategy.

Log parsing is the initial stage of automated log analysis, which mainly involves converting semi-structured log messages into structured log templates. However, the initial log data size of software systems and services is relatively small, which limits the effectiveness of existing $\log$ parsers. Traditional data-driven log parsers use the structured nature of logs to construct domain rules, which may make it difficult to maintain stable performance when dealing with log data of different sizes and types due to mismatches. To address the limitations of existing methods, this paper proposes a log parsing method called LogSPL, which captures high-quality samples from small-scale log data based on semantics and extracts log templates using prompt learning. The research in this paper performs extensive experiments on 16 benchmark $\log$ datasets. The results show that LogSPL improves parsing accuracy and group accuracy by 3.2% and 2.6% over the optimal parser.

Deep Isolation Forest for Anomaly Detection

Isolation forest (iForest) has been emerging as arguably the most popular anomaly detector in recent years due to its general effectiveness across different benchmarks and strong scalability. Nevertheless, its linear axis-parallel isolation method often leads to (i) failure in detecting hard anomalies that are difficult to isolate in high-dimensional/non-linear-separable data space, and (ii) notorious algorithmic bias that assigns unexpectedly lower anomaly scores to artefact regions. These issues contribute to high false negative errors. Several iForest extensions are introduced, but they essentially still employ shallow, linear data partition, restricting their power in isolating true anomalies. Therefore, this paper proposes deep isolation forest. We introduce a new representation scheme that utilises casually initialised neural networks to map original data into random representation ensembles, where random axis-parallel cuts are subsequently applied to perform the data partition. This representation scheme facilitates high freedom of the partition in the original data space (equivalent to non-linear partition on subspaces of varying sizes), encouraging a unique synergy between random representations and random partition-based isolation. Extensive experiments show that our model achieves significant improvement over state-of-the-art isolation-based methods and deep detectors on tabular, graph and time series datasets;our model also inherits desired scalability from iForest. © 2022, CC BY.

SNNs have achieved great attention in recent years as they contain neurons more like those in the brain and use spikes to encode and transmit information efficiently among neurons with lower energy consumption. A Retina-LGN-V1 structure-like spiking neuron network (RLVSL-SNN) is proposed in this paper. It is inspired by the structure of mammalian primary visual pathway, and simulates different biological structures of Retina, LGN and V1. Noise reduction circuit and light adaptation circuit are also simulated for enhancing the robustness of its extracted features. RLVSL-SNN is a bio-plausible neuron network as it has firing rates of neurons in each layer that are similar to those of biological experiments. Besides, a full-connected SNN (FC SNN) is implemented following RLVSL-SNN for classification to evaluate the extracted features. The additive spiking timing dependent plasticity (STDP) learning rules and the ANN-to-SNN conversion method are utilized to train RLVSL-SNN and FC SNN, respectively. The experiments on MNIST dataset have verified that RLVSL-SNN is comparable to AlexNet for classification by features from spikes.
