Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is most commonly accident injury in modern society. The deterioration of cognition and memory is a common ph.nomenon caused by TBI. Most of the basic experiments used rats for pathological research. Moreover, an eight-arm maze was often used to test the spatial learning behavior of brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease and TBI. However, most of maze experimental data were collected in manual records. This process would take a lot of manpower and time. Therefore, the research built an automatic tracking trajectory system of the eight-arm maze to collect experiment data. Furthermore, the path trajectory of the rat can be recorded in time. Finally, these path trajectory data were used to analysis behavior feature of TBI animals. The results showed that TBI rats have a 40%~80% chance of having a trajectory to the right.

In this paper, a dual-channel converter with a positive output and negative voltage output is proposed. It integrates a positive voltage output converter and a negative voltage output converter, and shares the same switches. The number of active components can be reduced. In addition, the circuit can achieve dual output voltage control with a single controller and PWM drive signal by appropriately designing the ratio of the number of windings of the coupling inductor. A regulated positive voltage output and negative voltage output can be achieved.

Conventional boost converters operating with hard-switching result in low conversion efficiency and increased electromagnetic interference emissions. In this paper, a cost-efficient passive snubber is proposed with a few additional components: two diodes, one capacitor, and one inductor. Moreover, because these snubber components are not located on the main power processing path, they only require low ratings, resulting in improved cost-effectiveness.

AC-dC converters almost always require common-mode (CM) filters to restrict conducting their electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions to the power grid and ensure compliance with EMI certification requirements. These CM filters, which are based on the well-known LC lowpass filter, are typically bulky and expensive. Hence, a method for passive $\mathbf{C M}$ current cancellation using a nonlinear model is proposed herein. This method is entirely composed of passive components and offers advantages in terms of cost and system reliability. Compared to conventional passive LC filters, the number of magnetic components remains unchanged. This study proposes the derivation of a nonlinear model to estimate the filter performance using measured data from an actual CM choke; however, the proposed method does not require the mathematical model of a CM choke.

This study aims to establish equations for energy consumptions of Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) trains in operation considering the variations of slope to determine the traction energy cost (TEC). Where railway transportation has been one of the important means of transport for mankind, since TRA became electrified the parameters for train operations have been able to be accurately recorded. The equations for overall energy consumption and resistance parameters are completed for the overall energy consumption of TRA trains and resistance to them to simulate the operation of the whole train model. The inputs of different conditions of trains and track sections are then analyzed for energy use, as the energy use by train travel is obvious. That by the behavior of energy use, can be divided in three conditions for analysis which is acceleration, coasting and deceleration. In the analysis of the energy in the journey, the variation of its consumption is subject to multiple factors because of the difference in operation model and the variation in the track slope data. In view of decreasing unnecessary energy consumption, the equations for train energy consumption and the track parameters are substituted in the teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) technique, which can compute the optimal results fast. The optimal results being incorporated in the trains can help reduce unnecessary energy consumption and errors by human operations and arrive at the destination on schedule. By the equations for energy consumption, train parameters, and TLBO, our study proved to be able to reduce energy use as well as ensure of Top Transport Time Expenditure (TTE) of the trains.

The particular solutions(PS) and fundamental solutions(FS) in polar coordinates can be found in many textbooks, but with much less coverage in elliptic coordinates [1]. Since the elliptic domains with elliptic holes may be found in some engineering problems, the PS and the FS expansions in elliptic coordinates are essential for numerical computations. For dirichlet problems of Laplace's equation in elliptic domains, the null field method(NFM), the interior field method(IFM) and the collocation Trefftz method(CTM) are reported in [2]. There seems to exist very few reports for mixed problems, where the dirichlet and Neumann conditions are assigned on the exterior and the interior boundaries, simultaneously. This paper is devoted to such mixed problems by the NFM and the IFM, and the explicit algebraic equations are derived for elliptic domains. Besides, other effective particular solutions(PS) are sought, and the collocation Trefftz method(CTM) [3] is employed. The CTM may be used for Robin problems in elliptic domains. The effective algorithms for the mixed problems of Laplace's equation on elliptic domains are the main goal of this paper.

We sought to revolutionize the classification of Attention-deficit/Hyperactivity disorder (AdHd) by pioneering an innovative approach that seamlessly integrated auditory and visual tests with electroenceph.logram (EEG) coherence analysis, forming the foundation for our Support Vector Machine (SVM) models. Our primary objective was to achieve precise differentiation between individuals with AdHd and those without, aiming to reshape the landscape of AdHd diagnosis and early intervention. We constructed an SVM model based on CATA coherence, incorporating a carefully selected set of 180 features, and another grounded in CPT coherence with 70 features. Astonishingly, our exploration uncovered that a model incorporating CATA's coherence and Power Spectral density (PSd) as features achieved an astounding accuracy rate of 97.7%, using only half the number of features. This revelation hints at untapped potential for multivariate advancements in the realm of AdHd classification. The landscape of AdHd diagnosis and intervention is perpetually evolving, most notably with the FdA's approval of game therapy for AdHd. Leveraging the transformative power of our findings, we envision the development of user-friendly game therapies for in-home use, empowering both clinicians and parents alike. This marks a paradigm shift in the realm of AdHd intervention, offering objective, data-driven tools for the early management of AdHd. Gamified therapy not only enhances accessibility but also fosters engagement and compliance, all of which are pivotal in the long-term care of individuals with AdHd. In summary, our study represents a significant advancement in our comprehension and classification of AdHd. By fusing auditory and visual tests with EEG coherence analysis, fortified by state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, we have achieved an unprecedented level of accuracy in identifying individuals with AdHd. The development of Internet of Things (IoT) makes the application of smart homes grow rapidly. It is very popular to install smart appliances in the house. However, building a smart control system at home not only costs a lot but also has many limitations. For this reason, this study proposes a smart homes control system to easily integrate IoT, WSN, smart robot and single-board computer to implement smart home applications. We use wireless technology and automatic equipment to avoid excessive communication cable and to make the house more intelligent to keep in-house movement unimpeded and indoor space tidy and to let appliance adjust appropriate environment settings automatically. This system brings intelligence and convenience to home, making living environment more comfortable.

Marine pollution by various debris is rising in the context of increasing urbanization, industrialization and worldwide trade. Here, we review marine macro-litter with focus on sources, abundance, distribution, and impact on aquatic wildlife, human health, and the economy. We observe that about 75–80% of marine litter originates from land-based sources, including poorly managed landfills and improper disposal. Macro-litter ingestion by marine life is of growing concern, in particular concerning the presence of plastics and associated pollutants, e.g., bisph.nol A and ph.halates, in fishes. These pollutants are accumulated and transferred to human via seafood. Marine plastic pollution induces a substantial rise of economic costs due to the decline of ecosystem services. Mitigation of marine plastic pollution should be done by following the ten Rs principles of refuse, rethink, reduce, re-use, repair, refurbish, remanufacture, repurpose, recycle, and recover. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This research provides a health monitor system with replaceable flexible non-fragile bio-probe on an active RFId (Radio Frequency Identification) tag, such that the new system can improve the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) and impedance matching problems. Besides, the bio-probe device can conform to the profile of a bio-body and to improve the electrical contact property. The detailed device fabrication and testing processes are given. Two examples are given to show that it is very useful for remote health monitoring. The first case is used to measure the differenceof acupuncture bio-potentials for a manwith and without staying up late for all night. The other is to show the differenceof acupuncture bio-potentials for a man with influenza before and after taking some tabletsof vitamin C.
