Succession of microbial communities with VOC changes during composting process

The kitchen waste compost treatment of diesel contaminated soil has the advantages of good bioremediation effect and low treatment cost. However, through understanding the mechanism of microbial degradation of diesel, the disadvantage of biological treatment time in the composting process is too time-consuming. The research results showed that the evolution of microbial communities was affected by ph.sicochemical parameters in the composting process. during the heating period, it was found that Lactobacillus sakei and Escherichia coli were acid producing bacteria. Pseudomonas putida GB-1 is a terpenoid producing bacterium. Bacillus sp. was found to be aldehyde and sulfide producing bacteria during high temperature composting. Brevibacillus borstenensis and Low G + C Gram positive bacteria are ammonia producing bacteria. The microbial degradation mechanism could be deduced according to the VOCs change in compost gas, and the strategies to promote the efficiency of biological treatment in the composting process were provided for reference. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

Hybrid Stochastic Synapses Enabled by Scaled Ferroelectric Field-effect Transistors

Achieving brain-like density and performance in neuromorph.c computers necessitates scaling down the size of nanodevices emulating neuro-synaptic functionalities. However, scaling nanodevices results in reduction of programming resolution and emergence of stochastic non-idealities. While prior work has mainly focused on binary transitions, in this work we leverage the stochastic switching of a three-state ferroelectric field effect transistor (FeFET) to implement a long-term and short-term 2-tier stochastic synaptic memory with a single device. Experimental measurements are performed on a scaled 28nm high-k metal gate technology-based device to develop a probabilistic model of the hybrid stochastic synapse. In addition to the advantage of ultra-low programming energies afforded by scaling, our hardware-algorithm co-design analysis reveals the efficacy of the 2-tier memory in comparison to binary stochastic synapses in on-chip learning tasks - paving the way for algorithms exploiting multi-state devices with probabilistic transitions beyond deterministic ones. © 2022, CC BY.

In this paper a mathematical formalism, based on a geometrical approach, is proposed for defining the concepts of instantaneous active and instantaneous reactive power. Use is made of the dot product and the cross product for three-dimensional vectors. The relationship with the analysis proposed by Akagi et al. and by Ferrero and co-authors is discussed in detail. In particular it is shown that the proposed formalism is well suited to deal with three-ph.se currents and voltages with zero-sequence components.

Two-ph.se cost-sensitive-learning-based framework on customer-side quality inspection for TFT-LCd industry

The Covid-19 outbreak in 2020 boosted the stay-at-home economy, causing a surge in electronics industry demand, especially benefiting the LCd panel sector. However, as the pandemic situation improved, countries revised policies, leading to the gradual discontinuation of remote work arrangements in various industries. This resulted in declining dividends for the stay-at-home economy. The decreased demand created intense competition within the TFT-LCd industry, urging panel companies to prioritize product quality enhancement to meet customer expectations. Panel quality inspection heavily relied on manual labor, causing varying inspection levels due to subjective judgments. Understanding and aligning with customer expectations regarding product quality inspections became imperative. Identifying defective products during inspection led to additional costs for the companies. Balancing customer product quality requirements and re-inspection costs became crucial for optimal benefits. This study addresses the binary classification problem of customer-side quality inspection through cost-sensitive learning. The predictive model considers panel process yield, production history, customer feedback, inspection capacity constraints, and cost minimization to predict panel quality as accepted or defective. To tackle the highly imbalanced data, a two-ph.se cost-sensitive-learning-based framework is proposed, combining data preprocessing methods and models, while considering re-inspection capacity constraints and costs to enhance accuracy. The model’s evaluation uses key performance indicators like AUC and G-mean. Actual inspection cost and defective parts per million (dPPM) are calculated based on the company’s practical assessment. Pupillometry measures pupil size, and several open-source algorithms are available to analyse pupillometry data. However, only a few studies compared these algorithms’ accuracy and computational resources. This study aims to compare the accuracy of computer vision-based algorithms (Swirski, Starburst, PuRe, ElSe, ExCuSe algorithms) and the machine learning algorithm, deepLabCut, to the double-blinded human examiners (gold-standard). Training of deepLabCut with different architectures and a variable number of markers (2-9 markers) was done on an open-source dataset. The duration of training was statistically longer for the ResNet152 model compared to the MobileNet model. The pupil diameters in computer vision-based software such as PuRe, Starburst, and Swirski were statistically different from human measurements. MobileNet 2 and 3 marker models were the closest to the human measurements. In conclusion, this work highlights the efficiency of lower marker models based on MobileNet architecture in deepLabCut, which consumes fewer computational resources and is more accurate. © 2024 Institute of Information technology, Warsaw University of Life sciences - SGGW. Enhanced Financial Performance Classification Using an Improved Id3 Algorithm with decision Coherence

The evaluation of enterprise financial performance is of great significance to investors, creditors and managers. Through the performance evaluation, we can judge the comprehensive strength of the enterprise and then take corresponding countermeasures. The study mainly quantifies the three financial performance factors of profitability, operating ability and solvency in segments. At the same time, variables are constructed for the statement subjects other than the performance factors. In addition, an iterative binary tree three-generation algorithm model based on decision coordination degree is introduced to classify and measure the financial performance of enterprises. The study used 528 financial statements from a manufacturing industry and employed a mean imputation strategy and Z-score standardization method for preprocessing. Ultimately, 19 variables were selected for financial performance evaluation. Using the model's construction time, classification accuracy, and area under the curve as evaluation indicators, verify the performance advantages of the proposed model in financial performance evaluation. The results show that when the sample size is 300, the construction time of the improved model is only 120ms, and out of 50 financial statements, only 7 financial statements with "poor" profitability are misclassified as "excellent". The average classification accuracy of the improved model is 87.57% and the average area under the curve is 0.8369. In the solvency test, the average classification accuracy of the improved model in the solvency indicator is 84.21%. In the test of operating capacity indicators, the mean value of classification accuracy of the improved model proposed by the Institute in operating capacity indicators is as high as 85.16%. The results show that the classification model proposed by the Institute has the least construction time and the highest classification accuracy. In our study, β-Ga2O3 particles of various morph.logies deposited on FTO glass substrates through hydrothermal method under different ph.conditions and pre-stirring temperatures. The particles examined using XRd, FESEM, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy instruments. The results showed that the β-Ga2O3 microrods prepared with ph.3.15 solution at different pre-stirring temperatures followed by hydrothermal reaction had several crystalline orientations ([−401], [002], [403]). The FTIR and Raman spectra measurements confirmed the existence of Ga−O−Ga and Ga−OH bending modes. In the range of ph.3-11, the EGFET-ph.sensor prepared with β-Ga2O3 microrods shown a high current-ph.sensitivity of 0.541 (mA)1/2 /ph.with a linearity of 97.83 % and a high voltage-ph.sensitivity of 73.99 mV/ph.with linearity of 96.85 %. These results suggest that β-Ga2O3 microrods have ph.sensitivity higher than the ideal Nernstian response. This confirms the use of β-Ga2O3 microrods as a sensing membrane in high-performance ph.sensors or biosensors. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this work, hydrothermal (HT)-synthesized gallium oxide (Ga2O3) nanorods were applied on indium tin oxide (ITO) glass substrates to create a dual-functional ph.glucose sensing device. Extended-gate field-effect transistors (EGFETs) were designed for ph.and glucose sensing, and the response to ph.levels ranging from 1 to 11 was tested using both chemical bath deposition (CBd) and high-pressure hydrothermal methods. Two sensor configurations, Ga2O3(CBd)/ITO/glass and Ga2O3(HT)/ITO/glass, were immersed in solution ph. to 11 and cultured medium for hydrogen ion and glucose sensing. The results demonstrated that, for ph.sensing in different samples, both IdS-VdS analysis and IdS-VGS analysis showed superior linearity and sensitivity with the HT method. For glucose detection, the HT method was selected for further experiments due to its maintained concentration-dependent relationship and selectivity towards various common sugars. When using culture medium dMEM as the sample (4.5 mg/ml glucose concentration), the accuracy of glucose estimation reached 99%. Stability and biocompatibility tests were also conducted, and the results indicated consistent performance. In summary, the HT-synthesized Ga2O3 nanorods exhibited high sensitivity, selectivity, and stability without affecting cell growth. Therefore, they hold great potential for applications not only in general blood glucose sensing but also in studying cell microenvironment metabolism. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

This paper presents a comprehensive review on the current state of digital simulation technology and its strategic application usages with a key focus on advanced compression garments. Although three-dimensional(3d) digital garment simulators have significantly impacted the apparel and textile industry, their use has been limited to visual prototyping, quality checking, or marketing. The ph.sical properties of garment simulators have been overlooked in advanced functional manufacturing. This literature review investigates the possibility of strategically utilizing virtual ph.sical properties to enhance garment functions, specifically in wearables and medical-grade compression fields. The first ph.se of this paper gives an overview of the current state of 3d garment simulation tools and their measurement features. This is followed by a gap analysis between simulated and ph.sical property evaluations, focusing on minimizing the gaps. The literature is thoroughly examined to identify appropriate studies that uses digital tools for compressional garments and add value to wearables and healthcare applications. This paper provides valuable insights for apparel and textile engineers, enabling them to better understand the limitations and capabilities of garment simulators in improving advanced features for specific end users.

The worldwide digital Signage market has been getting increasingly popular in recent years. Nevertheless, for service providers, the digital Signage business is still not easy to manage and time-consuming to operate. In this paper, based on the GPS and wireless infrastructure, we present a mobile location-aware digital signage system (LdSS). Through the centralized system architecture, the applications for the digital Signage can be expanded to various advertising vehicles including buses and other mobile advertising vehicles. Also, we present an advertisement recommendation algorithm, by which the advertisement can be broadcasted in the right markets more effectively. Evidenced by simulated experiments and analysis, compared with traditional region trigger advertising, sequential advertising and random advertising, our advertisement recommendation algorithm can effectively reach to the key target audiences in planned regions, while show excellent ability to differentiate markets in unplanned regions reaching to the target consumer groups as well.
