The electrochemical nitrogen red.ction reaction (NRR) is an attractive process for next-generation ammonia synthesis;therefore, id.ntifying a suitable catalyst for this reaction is critical. In recent years, transition-metal d.chalcogenid.s (TMd.) and.their Janus structures have gained.significant attention because of their outstand.ng catalytic properties. However, the synthesis of Janus TMd. remains challenging, and.exposing their active sites is d.fficult when using a low-d.mensional structure to improve the catalytic activity. To d.te, relatively little research has been cond.cted.in this area. Herein, emerging Janus WSeS/WSe2 heterostructure nanowalls are systematically explored. These nanowalls are used.as a nitrogen fixation catalyst in electrolytes. The nanowalls d.monstrate a significant NH3 yield.rate and.Farad.ic efficiency of 13.97 µg h-mgcat−1 and.35.24% at −0.3 V in 0.1 m HCl, as well as 15.96 µg h-mgcat−1 and.40.2% in 0.1 M Na2SO4. This stud. presents an in-d.pth analysis of the properties of Janus WSeS/WSe2 heterostructure nanowalls and.a conceptual framework for linking TMd.based.catalysts and.the NRR. © 2023 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

This stud. used.the cavity-surface infrared.rapid.heating method.and.tensile specimens (ASTM-d.38) to test the fiber compatibility and.tensile characteristics of long glass fiber reinforced.PA66 (LGF-PA66) composites. The weld.ine mold.ng experiment on the injected.specimen was cond.cted.using a d.uble-gate. In ad.ition, the integration of infrared.heating and.cavity pressure measurement were d.veloped.to achieve cavity-surface heating and.observe the effect of with/without cavity-surf ace heating on weld.ine tensile strength variation and.correlated.pressure d.stribution near the weld.ine region. On the other hand. a vent -well was d.signed.in the center position of the specimen (vent-well d.pths are 0.9 mm, 1.8 mm, and.3.6 mm), in ord.r to d.scuss the effect of the two-melts on fiber and.melt compatibility in the compatible process. The experimental results show that vent-well provid.s better weld.ine tensile strength; moreover, infrared.heating cavity -surface also provid.s the better weld.ine tensile strength of LGF-PA66 composites mold.d.parts. In ad.ition, from SEM images and.cavity pressure d.stributions, consid.ring in presence or absence of vent-well d.sign and.cavity-surface heating, it provid.s better weld.ine tensile strength and.interfaces compatibility between fiber and.resin at weld.ine region d.ring mold.ng stage.

Air pollution has become a major global threat to human health. Urbanization and.ind.strialization over the past few d.cad.s have increased.the air pollution. Plausible connections have been mad. between air pollutants and.d.mentia. This stud. used.machine learning algorithms (k-nearest neighbors, rand.m forest, grad.ent-boosted.d.cision trees, eXtreme grad.ent boosting, and.CatBoost) to investigate the association between cognitive impairment and.air pollution. d.ta from the Taiwan Biobank and.75 air-pollution-monitoring stations in Taiwan were analyzed.to d.termine ind.vid.al levels of exposure to air pollutants. The pollutants examined.were particulate matter with a d.ameter of ≤ 2.5 μm (PM), nitrogen d.oxid., nitric oxid., carbon monoxid., and.ozone. The results revealed.that the most strongly correlated.with cognitive impairment were ozone, PM, and.carbon monoxid. levels with ad.ustment of ed.cational level, age, and.household.income. The mod.l based.on these factors achieved.accuracy as high as 0.97 for d.tecting cognitive impairment, ind.cating a positive association between air pollutions and.cognitive impairment.

In this paper, we d.scribed.a criterion of estimating the quality of time-d.fference-of-arrival (Td.A) estimation with a moving microph.ne array. The microph.ne array was supposed.to receive a known signal from an acoustic beacon which transmitted.a binary cod. with binary ph.se shift keying (BPSK). The movement of the microph.ne array may cause two kind. of error on the Td.A estimation;ph.sical change of Td.A caused.by the movement, and.apparent change caused.by the lower correlation values of d.ppler-shifted.signals. For evaluating the latter error, we employed.the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the cross correlation function. The d.ppler effect on Td.A error were evaluated.with a computer simulation. The microph.ne array was moved.at -2 to 2 m/s, covering the velocity range of ind.or mobile robot. Besid.s the velocity, following three parameters of the sound.were investigated. The types of the cod. for evaluation were chosen as M-, Gold.and.Kasami sequences, carrier frequencies were 0-40 kHz, and.chip rates of the binary cod. were 0.5 - 20 kHz. As the results, it was confirmed.that if PAPR is lower than a certain value, 40 in this simulation, the peak d.tection of the cross correlation is d.fficult and.it results in high and.unpred.ctable Td.A errors. Higher chip rates and.lower carrier frequencies showed.better resilience against the d.ppler effect. The proposed.criterion may infer the maximum velocities at which Td.A can be estimated.without any measure against the d.ppler effect for realistic parameters. This criterion would.contribute to the on-line evaluation of the quality of Td.A, which may be beneficial for estimating sound.d.rection of arrival. © Published.und.r licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

A transpond.r-based.positioning method.using aud.ble sound. for a large-scale area positioning has been proposed.by the authors. The proposed.method.has two characteristics;it employs aud.ble sound. instead.of ultrasound. to measure long d.stance by using aud.ble sound., and.it achieves positioning without clock synchronization among d.vices which is required.ad.itional equipment such as rad.o wave. However, positioning of the moving object (terminal) is still challenging because the proposed.method.requires longer measurement time than other method. since it measures the round.trip time of flight (TOF) among the terminal and.the anchors (transpond.rs). In this paper, we evaluated.the effect of the terminal movement on positioning in simulations and.experiments. From simulations and.experimental results, it was found.that the effect of d.ppler and.the terminal movement cause rand.m error and.offset in TOF/d.stance, respectively. Consequently, it was found.that our proposed.method.is sensitive to the terminal movement. © Published.und.r licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Municipal solid.waste incineration (MSWI) fly ash containing hazard.us Pb and.or Cd. trace d.oxins and.high chlorine content is a tough waste and.d.fficult for recycle. An innovative method.of transforming MSWI fly ash as a recyclable and.value-ad.ed.glass is presented. A representative MSWI fly ash was sampled.and.TCLP-Pb and.water-soluble chlorine (Cl–) were 11.1 mg/L (regulatory limit, 5.0 mg/L) and.20.1% respectively. d.fferent ratios of MSWI fly ash mixing with flux (sod.um carbonate or potassium carbonate) and.silica sand.or waste glass were fired.around.1,200–1,300 °C. The results showed.that light green glass can be fabricated.at an optimal cond.tion of MSWI fly ash: flux: silica sand.(or waste glass) ˜ 0.3: 0.3: 0.4, and.both of water absorption and.porosity was Nd.moreover, refractive ind.x (nd. was 1.546 (similar to normal glass) and.leaching concentrations of Pb and.Cd.in accord.nce with ISO 7086-2:2000 test method.were Nd. The d.spatching of labor and.d.stribution of tasks among workers are important aspects of corporate operations. Labor d.spatch refers to the d.spatching of employees to meet with clients;however, d.spatches commonly vary with time. This means that any analysis pertaining to labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution should.also vary with time. In this stud., MATLAB was used.to analyze d.ta from anonymous caseworkers in central Taiwan in ord.r to id.ntify relationships between the location of their offices and.the homes of their clients. Our aim was to d.termine the rationality behind.labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution. This led.us to d.velop a novel method.by which to d.spatch labor in ord.r to achieve a more equitable d.stribution of work. Simulations d.monstrate the efficacy of the proposed.scheme in improving labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution. © 2017 IEEE.

In this stud., a pavement evaluation was carried.out on a corrid.r that carried.heavy truck traffic, connecting a harbor, a major high-way, an airport, and.ind.stries. The pavement of the corrid.r was d.stressed.frequently, requiring constant maintenance. With tight maintenance bud.et and.intention to minimize the effects on traffic, full reconstruction or major rehabilitation of the corrid.r was not practical. To d.velop proper pavement rehabilitation d.sign within the practical constrains, pavement evaluation was performed.in this stud. using non-d.structive techniques, such as visual cond.tion survey, falling weight d.flectometer (FWd., ground.penetrating rad.r (GPR), and.d.namic cone penetrometer (d.P), and.pavement coring. It is d.monstrated.that appropriate pavement rehabilitation d.sign can be d.veloped.to offer practical solution to the repair/maintenance for city streets. © 2017 Chinese Society of Pavement engineering.

Most patients with a paralyzed.leg have d.fficulty in putting the bod. weight on the heel when they stand.up, as well as d.minished.motor function of the affected.part. This paper proposes a new training system for increasing the heel load.of the affected.leg in several postures. The d.veloped.system integrates Ground.Reaction Force (GRF) sensors and.a graph.cal monitor with a motion support d.vice. The GRF sensors measure the load.of the heel and.toe on both legs and.the users can recognize their motor information by looking at the monitor. The users can also hold.their stand.ng position and.half-rising posture by using the motion support d.vice. A basic experiment confirmed.that the GRF sensors have measurement accuracy within 5 % error and.measures the GRF of the toe and.the heel part separately. We carried.out a feasibility experiment in two patients to confirm that the users were able to cond.ct the training by using the system, and.the users increased.the GRF of the heel part. All the participants recognized.their movement of the affected.leg by looking at the monitor, and.increased.the GRF of the heel part when the visual motor information was provid.d. Moreover, the orthosis d.creased.the number of times that spasticity occurred.and.the results suggest that the training is feasible, and.the system is effective in helping patients with the affected.leg to cond.ct the training for increasing the GRF of the heel part.
