The World.Health Organization (WHO) consid.rs that traffic accid.nts are major public health problem world.id., for this reason safety managers try to id.ntify the main factors affecting the severity as consequence of road.accid.nts. In ord.r to id.ntify these factors, in this paper, d.ta Mining (d.) techniques such as d.cision Trees (d.s), have been used. A d.taset of traffic accid.nts on rural road. in the province of Granad. (Spain) have been analyzed. d.s allow certain d.cision rules to be extracted. These rules could.be used.in future road.safety campaigns and.would.enable managers to implement certain priority actions.

Nowad.ys, the research of the battery with higher energy d.nsity is increasing. d.e to the higher energy d.nsity of battery, more and.more machines are powered.by batteries, such as electric vehicle, electric stacker trucks, and.electric boat. d.e to increasing energy d.nsity of batteries, the measurement of state of charge is facing a challenge. Because the voltage of lithium iron battery is quite stable, and.its voltage is d.rectly mapped.into the state of charge, and.the nonlinearity of the relationship between battery voltage and.capacity make the measurement error is higher. In this paper presents a method.to estimate SOC by means of an artificial neural network. First, the network is trained.using accurate measurements of voltage and.current und.r d.fferent charge-regimes. The back propagation neural network is proved.to accuracy measure the state of the battery by observing and.tuning the neural network layer such the square root error minimized. © 2016, Springer International Publishing Switzerland.

A mobile robot that can achieve a stable attitud. and.locomotion on steep slopes is need.d.to overcome the problems of slipping and.falling for automation of works on steep slopes. The conventional approaches to achieve a stable attitud. and.locomotion have been researched.by ad.pting tracked.wheels and.multi-legged.mechanisms instead.of wheel mechanisms. However, these robots have limitations in term of application angles. A systematic theory for stable attitud. and.locomotion on steep slopes has not been established. Therefore, research on control strategies for wheeled.mobile robots on steep slopes is essential. In this paper, a method.to realize a stable attitud. and.locomotion on a steep slope for the wheeled.mobile robot by using propellers for propulsion ad.esion is proposed. The proposed.robot can generate a large frictional force by pushing its bod. against the slope with a thrust force. This force prevents the robot from slipping while maneuvering on the slope. The magnitud. and.the d.rection of the thrust force is optimized.using an appropriate control mechanism influencing the moment of force acting on it to avoid.falling and.sid. slipping d.ring locomotion on steep slopes. A simulation experiment was cond.cted.from the perspective of mechanics and.d.namics to arrive at an optimal d.sign of the mobile robot. The d.veloped.robot has four propellers to generate thrust forces and.a rotation axis to control the d.rection of the generated.thrust forces. Evaluation experiments were performed.to valid.te the stability of the robot at a resting position and.d.ring lateral locomotion and.its ability to climb over a slope. The experimental results confirmed.that the proposed.robot with propellers realized.a stead. attitud. and.locomotion on a slope of up to 90° by controlling the magnitud. and.the d.rection of the thrust force.

In this stud., a novel positioning mod.l of a d.uble-CCd.cameras calibration system, with an Alternate-Eight-Matrix (AEM) Look-Up-Table (LUT), was proposed. Two CCd.cameras were fixed.on both sid.s of a large scale screen to red.em Field.Of View (FOV) problems. The first to the fourth AEMLUT were used.to compute the correspond.ng positions of intermed.ate blocks on the screen captured.by the right sid. camera. In these AEMLUT for the right sid. camera, the coord.nate mapping d.ta of the target in a specific space were stored.in two matrixes, while the gray level threshold.values of d.fferent position were stored.in the others. Similarly, the fifth to the eighth AEMLUT were used.to compute the correspond.ng positions of intermed.ate blocks on the screen captured.by the left sid. camera. Experimental results showed.that the problems of d.ad.angles and.non-uniform light field. were solved. In ad.ition, rapid.and.precision positioning results can be obtained.by the proposed.method.

Systems of Systems engineering, SOSE, is a new field.and.opens a wid. challenge for Systems engineering researchers who are d.aling with large scale complex systems. Integration is one of many tasks required.by Systems Engineers who are involved.in the process of acquiring a working system that fulfills the main mission of the large scale system. Generally, there are three large scale complex systems cases that need.to be integrated. 1) new systems with new systems, 2) old.systems with new systems, and.3) old.systems with old.systems. In the literature, the main focus of the research is on Systems engineering integration processes for systems which are still und.r d.sign and.before their final ph.se-out. This research presents a contribution to d.fine the System of Systems engineering (SOSE) science through facilitating the integration of two existing large scale complex systems "old.system to old.system" into one using a simple and.clear new process mod.l for integration. One of the reasons for selecting this case is the significant need.to integrate "old.systems with other old.systems". The integration process has many approaches and.mod.ls, i.e. V-Mod.l which is mostly used.d.ring the life cycle of build.ng a system. What makes this research unique is the introd.ction of the "M-mod.l" that facilitates integration of "existing / old. large scale complex systems with each other. The M-Mod.l starts with d.fining the "Problem statement," then the sequence of build.ng-up d.cuments and.plans lead. to a master plan d.cumented.called."SOSE Master Plan (SOSEMP)." As a basis for these, the paper first d.scribes observations mad. from a series of explorations into various aspects of using the d.P method.to d.sign the controller for the pole-cart benchmark problem. Parameters of the explorations includ.d.training gains, plant parameter variations, fid.lity of plant mod.l, controller sampling rates, network architectures, training strategies, and.generalization tests.

The aim of this stud. is to establish the key factors for the d.velopment of cooking classes in Taiwan’s rural bed.and.breakfasts (B&Bs) to ad.ress the gaps in Taiwan’s research on this topic and.contribute new knowled.e to the d.velopment of Taiwan’s B&B ind.stry. This stud. was cond.cted.in two stages. In the first stage, the fuzzy d.lph. method.(Fd.) was used.to collect expert opinions and.construct ind.cators;in the second.stage, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used.to analyse the importance of ind.cators. The research results ind.cated.that the most important factor for the d.velopment of cooking classes at rural B&Bs is “homestay management”, of which environmental hygiene and.cleanliness are the most important ind.cators. This stud. fills the research gap related.to gourmet and.cooking tourism within the B&B ind.stry, and.the most notable contribution of this stud. is the id.ntification of the key factors for the d.velopment of cooking classes at rural B&Bs. In our simulation, for the same d.grad.tion of the d.ivers, the lifetime of our gate d.iver had.16 times longer than that of the conventional d.iver. Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques with Geograph.c Information System (GIS) in urban-related.research is a surging trend.recently. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and.Cellular Automata (CA) are two AI techniques d.scussed.in this paper. ANN is known for its perceptron logic and.CA is known for its d.namic evolvement mechanism. This paper offers the combination of ANN and.Bayesian probability- named.‘BAANN’ process in ord.r to integrate the ad.antages of ANN and.CA. BAANN can transfer ANN outcome into the transition probability of target pattern, and.cooperate with CA for operating d.namic simulation based.on the perceptron logic. A specific experimental material is a kind.of urban commercial ph.nomenon, which is the d.velopment of night market. The experimental CA mod.l is implemented.on GIS- named.‘CA-GIS’ mod.l. CA-GIS mod.l based.on BAANN can perform high accuracy simulation and.comprehensively evaluate land.commercial value of night market. Ad.itionally, the experiment of d.namic simulation can find.out which places are the originally d.veloping spots, and.which zones would.be sensitive to the situation of economic fluctuation.

This work presents the ad.ances in the synthesis and.characterization of magnetite-graph.ne oxid. nanocomposite synthetized.by coprecipitation. Structural and.ph.sicochemical properties were analyzed.by X-ray d.ffraction (XRd., Fourier transform infrared.spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and.vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). XRd.and.FT-IR analyses corroborated.that magnetite was obtained. Nanoparticle mean size from XRd.analysis revealed.that it d.creased.when graph.ne oxid. (GO) was present. TEM d.splayed.that magnetite d.corates the GO and.VSM revealed.superparamagnetic behavior. © 2016 IEEE.
