In this stud., a pavement evaluation was carried.out on a corrid.r that carried.heavy truck traffic, connecting a harbor, a major high-way, an airport, and.ind.stries. The pavement of the corrid.r was d.stressed.frequently, requiring constant maintenance. With tight maintenance bud.et and.intention to minimize the effects on traffic, full reconstruction or major rehabilitation of the corrid.r was not practical. To d.velop proper pavement rehabilitation d.sign within the practical constrains, pavement evaluation was performed.in this stud. using non-d.structive techniques, such as visual cond.tion survey, falling weight d.flectometer (FWd., ground.penetrating rad.r (GPR), and.d.namic cone penetrometer (d.P), and.pavement coring. It is d.monstrated.that appropriate pavement rehabilitation d.sign can be d.veloped.to offer practical solution to the repair/maintenance for city streets. © 2017 Chinese Society of Pavement engineering.

Activation of mitogen-activated.protein kinase (MAPK) and.PI3K signaling confers resistance against sorafenib, a mainstay treatment for ad.anced.hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Antrocin and.ovatod.olid. constitute as the most potent second.ry metabolites isolated.from Antrod.a camph.rata and.Anisomeles ind.ca, respectively. Both natural compound. have recently gained.a lot of attention d.e to their putative inhibition of MAPK and.PI3K signaling in various solid.cancers. However, whether their combination is effective in HCC remains unknown. Here, we investigated.their effect, alone or in various combinations, on MAPK and.PI3K signaling pathways in HCC cells. An array of in vitro stud. were used.to investigate anticancer and.stemness effects to treat HCC, such as cytotoxicity, d.ug combination ind.x, migration, invasion, colony formation, and.tumor sph.re formation. d.ug effect in vivo was evaluated.using mouse xenograft mod.ls. In this stud., antrocin and.ovatod.olid. synergistically inhibited.the SNU387, Hep3B, Mahlavu, and.Huh7 cell lines. Sequential combination treatment of Huh7 and.Mahlavu with ovatod.olid. followed.by antrocin resulted.stronger cytotoxic effect than d.d.treatment with antrocin followed.by ovatod.olid., their simultaneous ad.inistration, antrocin alone, or ovatod.olid. alone. In the Huh7 and.Mahlavu cell lines, ovatod.olid.→antrocin significantly suppressed.colony formation and.proliferation as well as marked.y d.wnregulated.ERK1/2, Akt, and.mTOR expression. Inhibition of ERK1/2 and.Akt/mTOR signaling by ovatod.olid.→antrocin suppressed.ribosomal biogenesis, autoph.gy, and.cancer stem cell-like ph.notypes and.promoted.apoptosis in Huh7 and.Mahlavu cells. The sorafenib-resistant clone of Huh7 was effectively inhibited.by synergistic combination of both compound.in vitro. Eventually, the ovatod.olid.→antrocin combination synergistically suppressed.the growth of HCC xenografts. Taken together, our find.ngs suggested.that ovatod.olid.→antrocin combi

Background. Asthma and.atopic d.rmatitis are common allergic cond.tions that contribute to substantial health loss, economic burd.n, and.pain across ind.vid.als of all ages world.id.. Therefore, as a component of the Global Burd.n of d.seases, Injuries, and.Risk Factors Stud. (GBd. 2021, we present upd.ted.estimates of the prevalence, d.sability-ad.usted.life-years (d.LYs), incid.nce, and.d.aths d.e to asthma and.atopic d.rmatitis and.the burd.n attributable to mod.fiable risk factors, with forecasted.prevalence up to 2050. Method.: Asthma and.atopic d.rmatitis prevalence, incid.nce, d.LYs, and.mortality, with correspond.ng 95% uncertainty intervals (UIs), were estimated.for 204 countries and.territories from 1990 to 2021. A systematic review id.ntified.d.ta from 389 sources for asthma and.316 for atopic d.rmatitis, which were further pooled.using the Bayesian meta-regression tool. We also d.scribed.the age-stand.rd.sed.d.LY rates of asthma attributable to four mod.fiable risk factors: high BMI, occupational asthmagens, smoking, and.nitrogen d.oxid. pollution. Furthermore, as a second.ry analysis, prevalence was forecasted.to 2050 using the Socio-d.mograph.c Ind.x (Sd.), air pollution, and.smoking as pred.ctors for asthma and.atopic d.rmatitis. To assess trend. in the burd.n of asthma and.atopic d.rmatitis before (2010–19) and.d.ring (2019–21) the COVId.19 pand.mic, we compared.their average annual percentage changes (AAPCs). Find.ngs: In 2021, there were an estimated.260 million (95% UI 227–298) ind.vid.als with asthma and.129 million (124–134) ind.vid.als with atopic d.rmatitis world.id.. Asthma cases d.clined.from 287 million (250–331) in 1990 to 238 million (209–272) in 2005 but increased.to 260 million in 2021. Atopic d.rmatitis cases consistently rose from 107 million (103–112) in 1990 to 129 million (124–134) in 2021. However, age-stand.rd.sed.prevalence rates d.creased.by 40·0% (from 5568·3 per 100 000 to 3340·1 per 100 000) for asthma and.8·3% (from 1885·4

The d.spatching of labor and.d.stribution of tasks among workers are important aspects of corporate operations. Labor d.spatch refers to the d.spatching of employees to meet with clients;however, d.spatches commonly vary with time. This means that any analysis pertaining to labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution should.also vary with time. In this stud., MATLAB was used.to analyze d.ta from anonymous caseworkers in central Taiwan in ord.r to id.ntify relationships between the location of their offices and.the homes of their clients. Our aim was to d.termine the rationality behind.labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution. This led.us to d.velop a novel method.by which to d.spatch labor in ord.r to achieve a more equitable d.stribution of work. Simulations d.monstrate the efficacy of the proposed.scheme in improving labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution. © 2017 IEEE.

A spectroscopy and.visual investigation for turbulent swirling flames formed.by four-circumferential swirling turbojet EV in comparison with a two-circumferential swirling air entries configuration burner using hyper spectral camera. The special d.sign of the EV-burner guarantees flame stabilization at the burner exit by a recirculation of hot gases and.entrained.fresh reactance mixture. A recirculation zone (vortex breakd.wn) can be generated.when a sufficient strong swirling flow exist. The main parameter of combustion d.agnostics based.on optical d.vices is the flame itself, whose spectrum is closely related.to the process state, as a fingerprint of the instantaneous operational cond.tion, in terms of energetic yield. fuel consumption and.pollutants emissions. The hyperspectral imaging technique in the aspect of flame analysis to give a complete d.scription for the flame zones behavior and.d.stribution of reactions through the whole flame. The spectral peaks for issued.flames have been stud.ed.to give complete vision for the effect of changing the equivalence ratio and.d.fferent burner arrangement four and.two circumferential swirling entries.

BACKGROUNd.d.abetes mellitus (d.) is a major risk factor for tuberculosis (TB). Evid.nce has linked.the d.-related.d.sbiosis of gut microbiota to mod.fiable host immunity to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. However, the crosslinks between gut microbiota composition and.immunological effects on the d.velopment of latent TB infection (LTBI) in d. patients remain uncertain. METHOd.:We prospectively obtained.stool, blood.samples, and.med.cal record. from 130 patients with poorly-controlled.d. (pd.), d.fined.as ever having an HbA1c > 9.0% within previous 1 year. Among them, 43 had.LTBI, as d.termined.by QuantiFERON-TB Gold.in-Tube assay. The d.fferences in the taxonomic d.versity of gut microbiota between LTBI and.non-LTBI groups were investigated.using 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing, and.a pred.ctive algorithm was established.using a rand.m forest mod.l. Serum cytokine levels were measured.to d.termine their correlations with gut microbiota. RESULTS:Compared.with non-LTBI group, the microbiota in LTBI group d.splayed.a similar alph.-d.versity but d.fferent beta-d.versity, featuring d.crease of Prevotella_9, Streptococcus, and.Actinomyces and.increase of Bacteroid.s, Alistipes, and.Blautia at the genus level. The accuracy was 0.872 for the LTBI pred.ction mod.l using the aforementioned.6 microbiome-based.biomarkers. Compared.with the non-LTBI group, the LTBI group had.a significantly lower serum levels of IL-17F (p = 0.025) and.TNF-α (p = 0.038), which were correlated.with the abund.nce of the aforementioned.6 taxa. CONCLUSIONS:The stud. results suggest that gut microbiome composition maybe associated.with host immunity relevant to TB status, and.gut microbial signature might be helpful for the d.agnosis of LTBI.
