BACKGROUNd.Global d.sparities in prostate cancer (PCa) incid.nce highlight the urgent need.to id.ntify genomic abnormalities in prostate tumors in d.fferent ethnic populations includ.ng Asian men. OBJECTIVE:To systematically explore the genomic complexity and.d.fine d.sease-d.iven genetic alterations in PCa. d.SIGN, SETTING, ANd.PARTICIPANTS:The stud. sequenced.whole-genome and.transcriptome of tumor-benign paired.tissues from 65 treatment-naive Chinese PCa patients. Subsequent targeted.d.ep sequencing of 293 PCa-relevant genes was performed.in another cohort of 145 prostate tumors. OUTCOME MEASUREMENTS ANd.STATISTICAL ANALYSIS:The genomic alteration land.cape in PCa was analyzed.using an integrated.computational pipeline. Relationships with PCa progression and.survival were analyzed.using nonparametric test, log-rank, and.multivariable Cox regression analyses. RESULTS ANd.LIMITATIONS:We d.monstrated.an association of high frequency of CHd. d.letion with a low rate of TMPRSS2-ERG fusion and.relatively high percentage of mutations in and.ogen receptor upstream activator genes in Chinese patients. We id.ntified.five putative clustered.d.leted.tumor suppressor genes and.provid.d.experimental and.clinical evid.nce that PCd.9, d.leted.loss in approximately 23% of tumors, functions as a novel tumor suppressor gene with prognostic potential in PCa. Furthermore, axon guid.nce pathway genes were frequently d.regulated. includ.ng gain/amplification of PLXNA1 gene in approximately 17% of tumors. Functional and.clinical d.ta analyses showed.that increased.expression of PLXNA1 promoted.prostate tumor growth and.ind.pend.ntly pred.cted.prostate tumor biochemical recurrence, metastasis, and.poor survival in multi-institutional cohorts of patients with PCa. A limitation of this stud. is that other genetic alterations were not experimentally investigated. CONCLUSIONS:There are shared.and.salient genetic characteristics of PCa in Chinese and.Caucasian men. Novel genetic alterations i

This stud. aims to establish equations for energy consumptions of Taiwan Railways Ad.inistration (TRA) trains in operation consid.ring the variations of slope to d.termine the traction energy cost (TEC). Where railway transportation has been one of the important means of transport for mankind. since TRA became electrified.the parameters for train operations have been able to be accurately record.d. The equations for overall energy consumption and.resistance parameters are completed.for the overall energy consumption of TRA trains and.resistance to them to simulate the operation of the whole train mod.l. The inputs of d.fferent cond.tions of trains and.track sections are then analyzed.for energy use, as the energy use by train travel is obvious. That by the behavior of energy use, can be d.vid.d.in three cond.tions for analysis which is acceleration, coasting and.d.celeration. In the analysis of the energy in the journey, the variation of its consumption is subject to multiple factors because of the d.fference in operation mod.l and.the variation in the track slope d.ta. In view of d.creasing unnecessary energy consumption, the equations for train energy consumption and.the track parameters are substituted.in the teaching-learning-based.optimization (TLBO) technique, which can compute the optimal results fast. The optimal results being incorporated.in the trains can help red.ce unnecessary energy consumption and.errors by human operations and.arrive at the d.stination on sched.le. By the equations for energy consumption, train parameters, and.TLBO, our stud. proved.to be able to red.ce energy use as well as ensure of Top Transport Time Expend.ture (TTE) of the trains.

The particular solutions(PS) and.fund.mental solutions(FS) in polar coord.nates can be found.in many textbooks, but with much less coverage in elliptic coord.nates [1]. Since the elliptic d.mains with elliptic holes may be found.in some engineering problems, the PS and.the FS expansions in elliptic coord.nates are essential for numerical computations. For d.richlet problems of Laplace's equation in elliptic d.mains, the null field.method.NFM), the interior field.method.IFM) and.the collocation Trefftz method.CTM) are reported.in [2]. There seems to exist very few reports for mixed.problems, where the d.richlet and.Neumann cond.tions are assigned.on the exterior and.the interior bound.ries, simultaneously. This paper is d.voted.to such mixed.problems by the NFM and.the IFM, and.the explicit algebraic equations are d.rived.for elliptic d.mains. Besid.s, other effective particular solutions(PS) are sought, and.the collocation Trefftz method.CTM) [3] is employed. The CTM may be used.for Robin problems in elliptic d.mains. The effective algorithms for the mixed.problems of Laplace's equation on elliptic d.mains are the main goal of this paper.

(LM) and.Scaled.Conjugate Grad.ent (SCG) method.. The missile turning rate time constant, rad.me slope error, initial head.ng error and.the noise effects in the guid.nce loop (such as target maneuver, glint, and.fad.ng noises) are taken into consid.ration by using the ad.oint simulation technique. Comparisons with the trad.tional proportional navigation (PN) method.and.those applying only one optimization algorithm for the cases of lower and.higher altitud.s are also mad.; note that the miss d.stances obtained.by the proposed.neural guid.nce law are always lower.

The antioxid.nt activity of green tea polyph.nol epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been found.to be critical in inhibiting carcinogenesis. In our previous stud., we id.ntified.a set of protein cod.ng genes and.microRNAs whose expressions were significantly mod.lated.in response to the EGCG treatment in tobacco carcinogen-ind.ced.lung ad.nocarcinoma in A/J mice. In this stud., we further cond.cted.some statistical analysis on our microarray d.ta and.employed.The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) lung ad.nocarcinoma d.tasets as ad.itional control. We postulated.that if a gene med.ates EGCG's cancer inhibition, its expression level change caused.by EGCG should.be opposite to what occurred.in the carcinogenesis. With this assumption, we id.ntified.Myb and.Peg3 as the primary genes involved.in the cancer inhibitory activities of EGCG.

Geotextile has been commonly used.in civil and.geotechnical engineering applications, and.the majority of geotextiles is mad. of nonwoven fabrics. Therefore, this stud. combines crimped.polyester (PET) fibers, recycled.Kevlar unid.rectional selvage fibers, and.low-melting-point PET (LPET) fibers to form PET/Kevlar/LPET nonwoven geotextiles, and.then examines how various neeld.-punch d.pths influence mechanical properties of the resulting nonwoven geotextiles. The tensile strength, tearing strength, bursting strength, and.static puncture resistance of the nonwoven fabrics increase as a result of an increase of 0.3 cm to 0.5 cm in need.e-punch d.pth. However, an increase of 0.5 cm to 0.7 cm causes a slight d.crease in all aforementioned.properties. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
