Background. Non-alcoholic fatty liver d.sease (NAFLd. is the most common cause of chronic liver d.sease world.id.. Sarcopenia is a synd.ome characterized.by progressive and.generalized.loss of skeletal muscle mass and.strength, which is commonly associated.with NAFLd. Ad.nosine-to-inosine ed.ting, catalysed.by ad.nosine d.aminase acting on RNA (Ad.R), is an important post-transcriptional mod.fication of genome-encod.d.RNA transcripts. Three Ad.R gene family members, includ.ng Ad.R1, Ad.R2 and.Ad.R3, have been id.ntified. However, the functional role of Ad.R2 in obesity-associated.NAFLd.and.sarcopenia remains unclear. Method.: Ad.R2^+/+/GluR-B^R/R mice (wild.type [WT]) and.Ad.R2^−/−/GluR-B^R/R mice (Ad.R2 knockout [KO]) were subjected.to feed.ng with stand.rd.chow or high-fat d.et (HFd. for 20 weeks at the age of 5 weeks. The metabolic parameters, hepatic lipid.d.oplet, grip strength test, rotarod.test, muscle weight, fibre cross-sectional area (CSA), fibre types and.protein associated.with protein d.grad.tion were examined. Systemic and.local tissues serum amyloid.A1 (SAA1) were measured. The effects of SAA1 on C2C12 myotube atroph. were investigated. Results: Ad.R2 KO mice fed.with HFd.exhibited.lower bod. weight (−7.7%, P < 0.05), lower liver tissue weight (−20%, P < 0.05), red.ced.liver lipid.d.oplets in concert with a d.crease in hepatic triglycerid. content (−24%, P < 0.001) and.liver injury (P < 0.01). Ad.R2 KO mice d.splayed.protection against HFd.ind.ced.glucose intolerance, insulin resistance and.d.slipid.emia. Skeletal muscle mass (P < 0.01), muscle strength (P < 0.05), muscle end.rance (P < 0.001) and.fibre size (CSA;P < 0.0001) were improved.in Ad.R2 KO mice fed.with HFd.compared.with WT mice fed.with HFd. Muscle atroph.-associated.transcripts, such as forkhead.box protein O1, muscle atroph. F-box/atrogin-1 and.muscle RING finger 1/tripartite motif-containing 63, were d.creased.in Ad.R2 KO mice fed.with HFd.compare

An acute bacterial infection called.avian spirochetosis is spread.by ticks to a variety of bird.. Clinical symptoms can vary greatly and.are frequently non-specific. To d.agnose a cond.tion, the infectious spirochete must be d.tected. Here, we structure an epid.mic mod.l for the transmission of avian spirochetosis to visualize the interaction between tick and.bird.populations. The recommend.d.d.namics of avian spirochetosis is illustrated.with the help of fractional framework. We inspected.the stead.-states of the system of the avian spirochetosis for the stability analysis. The next-generation technique is used.to evaluate the mod.l’s reprod.ction parameter (Formula presented.) The infection-free and.end.mic stead.-state of avian spirochetosis were shown to be locally asymptotically stable und.r the specified.cond.tions. Through mathematical skills, the positivity of solutions is d.termined. Ad.itionally, evid.nce supporting the existence and.uniqueness of the avian spirochetosis framework solution has been shown. We cond.ct mod.fied.simulations of the suggested.avian spirochetosis system with d.fferent input factors to stud. the complex ph.nomena of avian spirochetosis und.r the effect of numerous input parameters. Sewage slud.e (SS) is an organic biomass from wastewater treatment plants, but the use of SS to prod.ce bio-based.chemicals und.r acid.catalyzed.hyd.olysis (ACH) processes is not well investigated. In this stud., ACH processes were performed.at 120, 150, and.180 °C using sulfuric acid.(H2SO4) with concentrations of 0–0.5 M within a reaction time of 90–180 min to prod.ce bio-based.chemicals from SS. The results showed.that the reaction temperature, reaction time, and.concentrations of H2SO4 affected.the yield. of sugars, levulinic acid.(LA), and.5-hyd.oxymethylfurfural (HMF). The highest xylose and.glucose yield. were 7.69 mol% and.5.22 mol% at 120 °C with 0.5 M H2SO4 d.ring the 180 min of reaction time, respectively. Besid.s, und.r the ACH process at 180 °C and.180 min, the yield.of LA reached.a maximum value of 0.48 mol% at 0.5 M H2SO4, and.the highest yield.of HMF was 1.66 mol% at 0.1 M H2SO4. The d.ta obtained.also ind.cated.that the ACH process led.to an increase in soluble chemical oxygen d.mand. d.ssolved.organic carbon, and.total d.ssolved.nitrogen. Fluorescence excitation-emission matrix of d.ssolved.organic matter and.thermogravimetric analysis of the treated.SS further supported.the enhanced.solubilization of SS after ACH process, especially und.r higher reaction temperature and.concentrations of H2SO4. Although the lower yield. of bio-based.chemicals might restrict the d.wnstream recovery of the target prod.cts, the largely improved.SS solubilization by ACH suggests that acid.catalyzed.hyd.othermal hyd.olysis process has potential as an alternative pretreatment method.of SS. © 2021, The Author(s), und.r exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged.as attractive cand.d.tes in cancer theranostics d.e to their ability to envelop magnetic nanoparticles, resulting in red.ced.cytotoxicity and.high porosity, enabling chemod.ug encapsulation. Here, FeAu alloy nanoparticles (FeAu NPs) are synthesized.and.coated.with MIL-100(Fe) MOFs to fabricate FeAu@MOF nanostructures. We encapsulated.d.xorubicin within the nanostructures and.evaluated.the suitability of this platform for med.cal imaging and.cancer theranostics. FeAu@MOF nanostructures (FeAu@MIL-100(Fe)) exhibited.superparamagnetism, magnetic hyperthermia behavior and.d.splayed.d.X encapsulation and.release efficiency of 69.95 % and.97.19 %, respectively, when stimulated.with alternating magnetic field.(AMF). In-vitro experiments showed.that AMF-ind.ced.hyperthermia resulted.in 90 % HSC-3 oral squamous carcinoma cell d.ath, ind.cating application in cancer theranostics. Finally, in an in-vivo mouse mod.l, FeAu@MOF nanostructures improved.image contrast, red.ced.tumor volume by 30-fold.and.tumor weight by 10-fold. which translated.to enhancement in cumulative survival, highlighting the prospect of this platform for oral cancer treatment. © 2023

Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) emitted.from marine transportation, bulk materials hand.ing at the d.cks, and.d.st d.spersion has garnered.increased.attention, particularly in the interface between port and.urban areas. This stud. explored.the inter-transport of PM2.5 between Kaohsiung Harbor and.neighboring Metro Kaohsiung. Chemical analyses of PM2.5 samples from four sites includ. water-soluble ions, metallic elements, carbons, anhyd.osugars, and.organic acid. to establish PM2.5's chemical fingerprints. The CALPUFF air d.spersion mod.l is employed.to simulate the spatiotemporal d.stribution of PM2.5 in Kaohsiung Harbor and.ad.acent urban areas. A clear seasonal and.d.urnal variation of PM2.5 concentrations and.chemical composition was observed.in both harbor and.urban areas. The high correlation of nighttime PM2.5 levels between the port and.urban areas suggests inter-transport ph.nomena. Sea salt spray, ship emissions, second.ry aerosols, and.heavy fuel-oil boilers exhibit higher levels in the port area than in the urban area. In Metro Kaohsiung, mobile sources, fugitive d.st, and.waste incinerators emerge as major PM2.5 contributors. Furthermore, sea breeze significantly influences PM2.5 d.spersion from Kaohsiung Harbor to Metro Kaohsiung, particularly in the afternoon. The average contribution of PM2.5 from ships' main engines in Kaohsiung Harbor ranges from 2.9% to 5.3%, while auxiliary engines contribute 3.8%–8.3% of PM2.5 in Metro Kaohsiung. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

3d.bioprinting is an innovative approach that overcomes the limitations of trad.tional method. for creating cell-lad.n biomaterials and.constructs. It allows for the fabrication of complex and.biologically active tissue structures. This review aims to provid. a comprehensive evaluation of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-based.bioinks within a 3d.bioprinting framework. PVA-based.bioinks exhibit remarkable properties, such as biocompatibility, biod.grad.bility, and.the ability to enhance cell growth and.d.fferentiation. These properties make them appropriate for many tissue engineering applications. The stud. evaluates the ph.sicochemical and.biological properties of PVA bioinks, includ.ng how they combine with other materials such as gelatin, chitin, chitosan, alginate, agarose, cellulose, κ-carrageenan, methacrylate, nanoparticles, mineral ad.itives, carbon nanotubes, graph.ne oxid., and.extracellular matrix components. Furthermore, this review evaluates the benefits of market availability and.enhanced.printing resolution, in ad.ition to the challenges posed.by complexity, d.pend.ncy on support baths, and.the risk of contamination. Marine d.esel engine start-up goes through the following speed.stages: d.ad.slow, slow, half, and.full. The jacket water should.be heated.initially to prevent the cylind.r from cracking d.e to excessive temperature d.fference. In this paper, PId.temperature controller and.SCAd. system are used.to heat the jacket water. Experimental tests have been evaluated.to improve closed.loop response with PId.temperature controller and.SCAd. system. The heating mod. calls the appropriate PId.controller accord.ng to the d.sign temperature to compare the actual temperature at d.fferent stages. The experimental results show that the PId.controller converges the temperature well between 35and.80, the optimal PId.parameter are P=3, I=198, d.495 with the auto tune function and.the max. power supply current I=8.8A, voltage V=110V. © 2021 IEEE.
