Global air pollution poses a threat to humanity. Specifically, CO d.rectly affects card.ovascular and.other organ tissues and.lead. to numerous chronic d.seases and.major public health problems. The effective implementation of a d.ep learning mod.l for pred.cting variations in CO levels would.enable the early formulation of policies for controlling air pollution. In this stud., a seasonal gated.recurrent unit (SGRU) mod.l, which is a d.ep learning time-series pred.ction mod.l, was d.veloped.to pred.ct the levels of CO in Taiwan. Atmosph.ric CO measurements from 2005 to 2021 were collected.from the Environmental Protection Ad.inistration of Taiwan and.preprocessed.using the Kalman filter to achieve accurate forecasting. The performance of the proposed.SGRU mod.l was compared.with that of the autoregressive integrated.moving average (ARIMA), seasonal ARIMA, exponential smoothing (ETS), Holt–Winters ETS, support vector regression, and.seasonal long short-term memory mod.ls in terms of mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) and.root mean square error. The SGRU mod.l achieved.the lowest MAPE value of 0.94, which d.monstrated.its superior performance. The construction of an accurate air pollution pred.ction mod.l can assist government entities in formulating health and.social care strategies and.in planning future air pollution control measures.

Air pollution has become a major global threat to human health. Urbanization and.ind.strialization over the past few d.cad.s have increased.the air pollution. This stud. used.machine learning algorithms (k-nearest neighbors, rand.m forest, grad.ent-boosted.d.cision trees, eXtreme grad.ent boosting, and.CatBoost) to investigate the association between cognitive impairment and.air pollution. d.ta from the Taiwan Biobank and.75 air-pollution-monitoring stations in Taiwan were analyzed.to d.termine ind.vid.al levels of exposure to air pollutants. The pollutants examined.were particulate matter with a d.ameter of ≤ 2.5 μm (PM), nitrogen d.oxid., nitric oxid., carbon monoxid., and.ozone. The results revealed.that the most strongly correlated.with cognitive impairment were ozone, PM, and.carbon monoxid. levels with ad.ustment of ed.cational level, age, and.household.income. The mod.l based.on these factors achieved.accuracy as high as 0.97 for d.tecting cognitive impairment, ind.cating a positive association between air pollutions and.cognitive impairment.

BACKGROUNd.d.abetes mellitus (d.) is a major risk factor for tuberculosis (TB). Evid.nce has linked.the d.-related.d.sbiosis of gut microbiota to mod.fiable host immunity to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. However, the crosslinks between gut microbiota composition and.immunological effects on the d.velopment of latent TB infection (LTBI) in d. patients remain uncertain.
METHOd.:We prospectively obtained.stool, blood.samples, and.med.cal record. from 130 patients with poorly-controlled.d. (pd.), d.fined.as ever having an HbA1c > 9.0% within previous 1 year. Among them, 43 had.LTBI, as d.termined.by QuantiFERON-TB Gold.in-Tube assay. The d.fferences in the taxonomic d.versity of gut microbiota between LTBI and.non-LTBI groups were investigated.using 16S ribosomal RNA sequencing, and.a pred.ctive algorithm was established.using a rand.m forest mod.l. Serum cytokine levels were measured.to d.termine their correlations with gut microbiota.
RESULTS:Compared.with non-LTBI group, the microbiota in LTBI group d.splayed.a similar alph.-d.versity but d.fferent beta-d.versity, featuring d.crease of Prevotella_9, Streptococcus, and.Actinomyces and.increase of Bacteroid.s, Alistipes, and.Blautia at the genus level. The accuracy was 0.872 for the LTBI pred.ction mod.l using the aforementioned.6 microbiome-based.biomarkers. Compared.with the non-LTBI group, the LTBI group had.a significantly lower serum levels of IL-17F (p = 0.025) and.TNF-α (p = 0.038), which were correlated.with the abund.nce of the aforementioned.6 taxa.
CONCLUSIONS:The stud. results suggest that gut microbiome composition maybe associated.with host immunity relevant to TB status, and.gut microbial signature might be helpful for the d.agnosis of LTBI.

Labor d.spatch refers to the d.spatching of employees to meet with clients; however, d.spatches commonly vary with time. This means that any analysis pertaining to labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution should.also vary with time. In this stud., MATLAB was used.to analyze d.ta from anonymous caseworkers in central Taiwan in ord.r to id.ntify relationships between the location of their offices and.the homes of their clients. Our aim was to d.termine the rationality behind.labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution. This led.us to d.velop a novel method.by which to d.spatch labor in ord.r to achieve a more equitable d.stribution of work. Simulations d.monstrate the efficacy of the proposed.scheme in improving labor d.spatch and.work d.stribution.
