Cyberterrorism is often defined as attack using communication networks to cause destruction or generate fear in society to achieve political or ideological goals. Nowadays, due to the accessibility and anonymity, social media has become the breeding grounds for spreading cyberterrorism. To counter cyberterrorism efficiently and effectively, it is critical for the legal enforcement to summarize information on the internet. Particularly, to analyze intelligence comprehensively and make decision without bias, there are multiple perspectives to be considered. However, it remains two challenges to be solved for multi-perspective summarization, which are lacking of annotations and various perspectives with conflicts. To address the challenges, we propose Pairwise Alignment Mechanism and Perspective Consensus Strategy to incorporate different perspectives into the summary. The experiment results show that our methodology can significantly leverage the coverage of multiple perspectives and maintain the consistency of the generated summary.

Impacts of ship emissions and sea-land breeze on urban air quality using chemical characterization, source contribution and dispersion model simulation of PM2.5 at Asian seaport

Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) emitted from marine transportation, bulk materials handling at the docks, and dust dispersion has garnered increased attention, particularly in the interface between port and urban areas. This study explored the inter-transport of PM2.5 between Kaohsiung Harbor and neighboring Metro Kaohsiung. Chemical analyses of PM2.5 samples from four sites include water-soluble ions, metallic elements, carbons, anhydrosugars, and organic acids to establish PM2.5's chemical fingerprints. The CALPUFF air dispersion model is employed to simulate the spatiotemporal distribution of PM2.5 in Kaohsiung Harbor and adjacent urban areas. A clear seasonal and diurnal variation of PM2.5 concentrations and chemical composition was observed in both harbor and urban areas. The high correlation of nighttime PM2.5 levels between the port and urban areas suggests inter-transport phenomena. Sea salt spray, ship emissions, secondary aerosols, and heavy fuel-oil boilers exhibit higher levels in the port area than in the urban area. In Metro Kaohsiung, mobile sources, fugitive dust, and waste incinerators emerge as major PM2.5 contributors. Furthermore, sea breeze significantly influences PM2.5 dispersion from Kaohsiung Harbor to Metro Kaohsiung, particularly in the afternoon. The average contribution of PM2.5 from ships' main engines in Kaohsiung Harbor ranges from 2.9% to 5.3%, while auxiliary engines contribute 3.8%–8.3% of PM2.5 in Metro Kaohsiung. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

A Universal Framework for Accurate and Efficient Geometric deep Learning of Molecular Systems

Molecular sciences address a wide range of problems involving molecules of different types and sizes and their complexes. Recently, geometric deep learning, especially Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), has shown promising performance in molecular science applications. However, most existing works often impose targeted inductive biases to a specific molecular system, and are inefficient when applied to macromolecules or large-scale tasks, thereby limiting their applications to many real-world problems. To address these challenges, we present PAMNet, a universal framework for accurately and efficiently learning the representations of three-dimensional (3d) molecules of varying sizes and types in any molecular system. Inspired by molecular mechanics, PAMNet induces a physics-informed bias to explicitly model local and non-local interactions and their combined effects. As a result, PAMNet can reduce expensive operations, making it time and memory efficient. In extensive benchmark studies, PAMNet outperforms state-of-the-art baselines regarding both accuracy and efficiency in three diverse learning tasks: small molecule properties, RNA 3d structures, and protein-ligand binding affinities. In the pattern of livestock keeping systems, livestock can have free access path to natural resources such as forests, scrubs, water, natural shading, wastes, and residues. How they use and do interact with land use systems particularly the pigs, become the focus of this assessment. the study areas will cover four districts, i.e. Warmare, Prafi, Masni and Sidey. The total areas of study therefore is 1,022.67 km2 (102,266.54 ha). data collected from BPS board of Manokwari, Papua Barat. data were analyzed using Statistical descriptive and shown in tables. Pictures were drawn using Arc GIS and Microsoft Visio. There are 11 types of land use systems which have roles in ecosystem and livestock-human interaction. Land use was dominated by tropical forest and followed by oil palm plantation, communal land, transmigrate areas and arable land. Beef cattle present dominantly the land use systems in agro-complex of Prafi, followed by pigs and goat. Further study is needed to prove the effect of interaction on sustainability indicators, i.e. society, economic and environment. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Self-Healable Sandfish Scale-Inspired Scalable Triboelectric Layer for Hybrid Energy Harvesting in desert Environment

In deserts, sedimentation from frequent dust activities on solar cells poses a substantial technical challenge, reducing efficiency and necessitating advanced cost-inefficient cleaning mechanisms. Herein, a novel sandfish scale-inspired self-healing fluorinated copolymer-based triboelectric layer is directly incorporated on top of the polysilicon solar cell for sustained hybrid energy harvesting. The transparent biomimetic layer, with distinctive saw-tooth microstructured morphology, exhibits ultra-low sand adhesion and high abrasion-resistant properties, inhibits sedimentation deposition on solar cells, and concurrently harvests kinetic energy from wind-driven sand particles through triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG). The film exhibits a low friction coefficient (0.149), minimal sand adhesion force (27 nN), and a small wear area (327 µm2). In addition, over 2 months, a solar cell with the sandfish scale-inspired structure demonstrates only a 16% decline in maximum power output compared to the bare solar cell, which experiences a 60% decline. Further, the sandfish scale-based TENG device's electrical output is fully restored to its original value after a 6-h self-healing cycle and maintains consistent stable outputs. These results highlight the exceptional advantages of employing biomimetic self-healing materials as robust triboelectric layers, showcasing sustained device stability and durability for prolonged use in harsh desert environments, ultimately contributing to a low cost-of-electricity generation paradigm. © 2024 Wiley-VCH GmbH.

developing a smart grid is a trend nowadays and an indispensable basic necessity of life. In recent years, the electricity demand has risen rapidly due to economic development and quality of life improvement. The power grid in significant cities is unstable due to old equipment, and power outages occur frequently. The smart grid can adjust the grid’s distribution strategy through the consumer’s real-time electricity demand so that the consumer’s electricity consumption data is always transmitted to the grid. Failure to protect the privacy and security of such information will expose consumers’ habits and even make the grid unnecessarily wasteful. The smart grid’s abnormality detection efficiency determines the overall grid’s stability. Failure to detect anomalies or power theft in the grid promptly will not only lead to the selection of the wrong distribution strategy for the smart grid but also reduce the transmission efficiency of the grid. This research ensures the privacy and security of transmitted data to enhance the efficiency of abnormality detection in the smart grid. The research issues are divided into privacy of transmitted data, data security authentication, and anomaly detection efficiency. © (2024), (International Journal of Network Security). Fast Approximation of Polynomial Zeros and Matrix Eigenvalues

Given a black box (oracle) for the evaluation of a univariate polynomial p(x) of a degree d, we seek its zeros, that is, the roots of the equation p(x) = 0. At FOCS 2016 Louis and Vempala approximated a largest zero of such a real-rooted polynomial within 1/2b, by performing at NR cost of the evaluation of Newton’s ratio pp′((xx)) at O(b log(d)) points x. They readily extended this root-finder to record fast approximation of a largest eigenvalue of a symmetric matrix under the Boolean complexity model. We apply distinct approach and techniques to obtain more general results at the same computational cost. Let a square on the complex plane be reasonably well isolated from the external roots of p(x) = 0 and let it contain at most m roots counted with multiplicities, for a fixed m ≤ d. Then we approximate all internal roots at NR cost O(m3b log(d)) and extend this to approximation of all eigenvalues of a matrix in such a square at record Boolean cost. For any fixed pair of a real γ ≥ 1 and an integer v ≥ 1, our alternative Las Vegas randomized root-finder runs at NR cost in O(m2γvb log(d)), and outputs errors with a probability at most 1/γv. We prove that O(log(d)) bit-precision is sufficient in our root-finders provided that oracle evaluates p(x) with relative error of order log(d) at points x sufficiently isolated from the zeros of p(x). For a constant m we match the cost bounds of Louis and Vempala for approximation of roots and eigenvalues but relax the restrictions on input and output. Our use of Cauchy integrals and randomization are pioneering and nontrivial as well as our fast approximation of the root radii (that is, the distances to the roots) from any fixed complex point. © 2022, CC BY.

The dLG root-squaring iterations, due to dandelin 1826 and rediscovered by Lobachevsky 1834 and Gräffe 1837, have been the main approach to root-finding for a univariate polynomial p(x) in the 19th century and beyond, but not so nowadays because these iterations are prone to severe numerical stability problems. Trying to avoid these problems we have found simple but novel reduction of the iterations applied for Newton's inverse ratio-p'(x)/p(x) to approximation of the power sums of the zeros of p(x) and its reverse polynomial. The resulting polynomial root-finders can be devised and performed independently of dLG iterations-based on Newton's identities or Cauchy integrals. In the former case the computation involve a set of leading or tailing coefficients of an input polynomial. In the latter case we must scale the variable and increase the arithmetic computational cost to ensure numerical stability. Nevertheless the cost is still manageable, at least for fast root-refinement, and the algorithms can be applied to a black box polynomial p(x)-given by a black box for the evaluation of the ratio p'(x)/p(x) rather than by its coefficients. This enables important computational benefits, including (i) efficient recursive as well as concurrent approximation of a set of zeros of p(x) or even all of its zeros, (ii) acceleration where an input polynomial can be evaluated fast, and (iii) extension to approximation of the eigen-values of a matrix or a polynomial matrix, being efficient if the matrix can be inverted fast, e.g., is data sparse. We also recall our recent fast algorithms for approximation of the root radii, that is, the distances to the roots from the origin or any complex value to the zeros of p(x), and propose to apply it for fast black box initialization of polynomial rootfinding by means of functional iterations such as Newton's, Ehrlich's, and Weierstrass's. This research aims to create a smart residential system that will improve parking management in residential areas using mini-server technology. Another aim is to provide a safe and effective smart parking solution for residential areas with limited capacity. This research method uses mini-server technology and control to create smart system ideas. Apart from that, this research also uses servo motor technology, proximity sensors, cameras, and IoT applications for smart parking management. The result is the creation of intelligent residential parking management, which uses a Raspberry Pi 5 Model B as a server and control to improve the parking management system in residential areas, and the use of number plate recognition technology to be applied to Smart City. This further research offers a new perspective on creating intelligent parking solutions using two input validation parameters simultaneously, namely facial and license plate recognition

Here, we propose phase and interfacial engineering by inserting a functional WO3 layer and selenized it to achieve a 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 heterolayer structure by a plasma-assisted selenization process. The 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 heterolayer was coupled with an Al2O3 film as a resistive switching (RS) layer to form a hybrid structure, with which Pt and W films were used as the top and bottom electrodes, respectively. The device with good uniformity in SET/RESET voltage and high low-/high-resistance window can be obtained by controlling a conversion ratio from a WO3 film to a 2d-layered WSe2 thin film. The Pt/Al2O3/(2d-layered WSe2/WO3)/W structure shows remarkable improvement to the pristine Pt/Al2O3/W and Pt/Al2O3/2d-layered WO3/W in terms of low SET/RESET voltage variability (−20/20)%, multilevel characteristics (uniform LRS/HRS distribution), high on/off ratio (104-105), and retention (∼105 s). The thickness of the obtained WSe2 was tuned at different gas ratios to optimize different 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 (%) ratios, showing a distinctive trend of reduced and uniform SET/RESET voltage variability as 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 (%) changes from 90/10 (%) to 45/55 (%), respectively. The electrical measurements confirm the superior ability of the metallic 1T phase of the 2d-layered WSe2 over the semiconducting 2H phase. Through systemic studies of RS behaviors on the effect of 1T/2H phases and 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 ratios, the low-temperature plasma-assisted selenization offers compatibility with the temperature-limited 3d integration process and also provides much better thickness control over a large area. © 2023 American Chemical Society.
