This paper mainly outlines the model of the invented spherical robot using Omni wheels to drive a spherical wheel. The dynamical model is derived based on Euler Lagrange approach. Therefore, based on the derived model, the variable structure control (VSC) is presented in which the sliding mode control (SMC) is adopted to achieve a constant speed at a vertical balance altitude. Simulations of the proposed control algorithm have been conducted based on two pre-determined sliding surfaces with adjustable parameters to discuss the effective time to enter the sliding surface and the convergence.

Objective To review ethical standards contained in guidelines to authors of Brazilian scientific journals in several medical specialties and see if there is any standardization available. Methods This is an exploratory study evaluating Brazilian scientific journals classified on the Portal of Journals on Health sciences of the Virtual Health Library in all medical specialties regarding guidelines to authors submitting manuscripts and concerning ethical standards for research in humans. data were collected and categorized for the presence of the following variables: Ethics Committee approval; Helsinki declaration and/or Resolution 196/96, informed consent; ethical standards; uniform requirements; patients’ confidentiality and no ethical references. The association among the variables was also examined. Results Out of a total of 8,701 journals, 95 were included in the current study. The variables were investigated, with each one's frequency being verified. Eighty per cent were referred for an Ethics Committee approval; 43.15% of Helsinki declaration; 43.15% of informed consent; 9.47% of ethical standards; 32.63% of uniform requirements and 15.78% of patients’ confidentiality were referenced. In the whole sampling, 9.47% of journals do not mention any ethical reference as a guide to authors submitting manuscripts. An association among variables occurred in 61% of the sample. Conclusion Ethical aspects of submitting manuscripts were mentioned in over 90% of the guides to authors of national scientific journals and no standardization at all is available.

This study demonstrated a newly type technology of a wafer level packaging method for light emitting diode (LEd) with aspheric lens and microlens array using microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technology and transfer molding process. The novel packaging structure includes two components: the silicon-based packaging substrate which is formed with arrayed reflector depression and through-hole interconnects by bulk micromachining and the optical encapsulation with lens configuration that formed by transfer molding in wafer level. By this pattern transfer process, the precise alignment between lens configuration and the reflector of silicon substrate can be achieved and batch process can be realized to reduce the costs. Beside, the packaging element can be used more applications. In the study, the pattern transfer of various lens profiles was also accomplished successfully by using silicone gel as lens mold. The brightness of the packaging elements with single aspheric lens profile and high fill factor microlens array can be increased by 26% and 16%, respectively, in comparison to the case of optical encapsulation with smooth curved surface. Furthermore, the light radiation uniformity was improved effectively through 100% fill factor microlens array. Therefore, the structure can satisfy the requirements of wafer level LEd packaging and improve the heat dissipation and light extraction efficiency.

The paper presents the birth of the world first FPGA, called the XC2064. Xilinx and Seiko worked together to solve the whisker issue and a few others, and soon the XC2064, the world's first FPGA, was commercially available. It was the beginning of a fruitful relationship between the two companies. In addition to providing an additional revenue stream to Seiko, running FPGAs with their repetitive structures through the fabs helped Seiko debug subsequent generations of silicon processes and produce greater yields and lower costs for all devices it manufactured. This use of FPGAs as a "process driver" allowed Xilinx access to leading-edge manufacturing technology at Seiko and at other foundries.

The new technology era is shifting the traditional ways of seeking knowledge and plays a new role in disseminating and sharing knowledge. E-learning systems have been introduced with the emergence of anddevelopments in information technology (IT). However, most e-learning systems focus on allowing students to access and use official educational content, with less attention being paid to involve e-resources linked to curricula to support the educational process and the learners. The main objective of this research is to empower users in an e-learning environment with an Information Communication Technology (ICT) web-based system in order to play a bigger role in seeking and sharing e-resources for better understanding of the curricula. This study proposes a web-based system that integrates elements of e-resources within an e-learning environment, by using e-classes of 7th, 8th, and 9th grades enrolled at Al-Bayan Secondary School in Saudi Arabia as a test bed. The system deals with a set of learning cycles that support the aims of e-learning. The first cycle is the student; the second cycle is the teacher; and the third cycle is the librarian. In this study quantitative and qualitative approaches have been used in order to evaluate, investigate, and compare the impact of the system. The results of this study revealed that there is a significant difference between the students according to grade. Therefore, students at Al-Bayan Secondary School would benefit from a system which exposes them to e-resources linkeddirectly to the curriculum in order to achieve and navigate knowledge understanding.
