Recent advancements in click chemistry have made it an effective method for quickly and easily assembling extremely stable nanomaterial assemblies onto surfaces. Therefore, a new class of fluorescent sensor utilizing two-dimensional organic nanosheets (2dONs) for the selective sensing of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-dNph) has been proposed by using the click chemistry directed by the probe ultrasonication method (CCdPS) which is driven by the π-π stacking interactions with the aid of dMF solvent. Prolonged human exposure to 2, 4-dNph has been associated with various detrimental health consequences, including skin conditions, liver issues, and disturbances to the central nervous and cardiovascular systems. Fluorescence titration tests with nanomolar scale limit of detection (LOd, 100 nM or 0.1 μM) and limit of quantification (LOQ, 0.4 μM) for 2,4-dNph showed fluorescence quenching reactions and excellent reversibility. Additionally, zeta potential and UV-absorption spectroscopy were used to validate the interaction and binding characteristics of 2d ONs with 2,4-dNph. In contrast to the widely reported ground-state charge transfer or FRET-based probes for nitroaromatics detection, the signal response for 2,4-dNph was achieved by a strong inner filter effect with the combination of FRET (IFE-FRET). © 2024 The Korean Society of Industrial and engineering Chemistry

Supervised learning of deep neural networks heavily relies on large-scale datasets annotated by high-quality labels. In contrast, mislabeled samples can significantly degrade the generalization of models and result in memorizing samples, further learning erroneous associations of data contents to incorrect annotations. To this end, this paper proposes an efficient approach to tackle noisy labels by learning robust feature representation based on unsupervised augmentation restoration and cluster regularization. In addition, progressive self-bootstrapping is introduced to minimize the negative impact of supervision from noisy labels. Our proposed design is generic and flexible in applying to existing classification architectures with minimal overheads. Experimental results show that our proposed method can efficiently and effectively enhance model robustness under severely noisy labels.

A high-power RF-to-dC rectifier applied to wireless power transfer (WPT) with ultra-wide input power dynamic range is proposed in this paper. A GaN (gallium nitride) HEMT (high electron mobility transistor) is utilized to realize rectification at high power up to 12 W and a Schottky diode is used for lower-power rectification. Excellent switching between the two circuits’ rectification modes is achieved by adding a circulator. The rectifier has a 30 dB dynamic range with an efficiency of over 50% at 2.4 GHz.

The fusion of technology and culinary exploration has allowed for the emergence of advanced online customer service systems. We developed a novel approach to enhance the dining experience. We used a Cuisine Image Recognition and Recommender System (CIRRS) powered by Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to identify and suggest diverse cuisines based on visual inputs. CIRRS swiftly identified diverse cuisines from user-captured images, offering information on origin, ingredients, and variations by crawling websites. The system enhanced dining experiences by suggesting personalized menus based on individual preferences and past selections. Extensively tested across various culinary genres, CIRRS consistently demonstrated accuracy and adaptability. User feedback validated its potential to simplify dining choices and elevate satisfaction. This innovative system enriched dining experiences as a valuable tool for culinary enthusiasts, chefs, and restaurateurs, bridging the gap between technology and gastronomy, It also offers a unique way to explore Taiwanese cuisines.

In Eswatini, 62.3% of households still rely on solid fuel for cooking, especially wood (61.8%). Smoke emissions during biomass burning remain the primary source of indoor air pollution, comprising pollutants detrimental to health. This study provides a quantitative exposure assessment of fuels used in the Shiselweni region with the objectives of monitoring the carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations during cooking events and evaluating cancer and noncancer risks due to exposure to particulate-bound polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) during cooking events among cooking personnel in households that cook indoors by burning biomass. Real-time CO, CO2, and particulate matter (PM) monitoring was performed in seventeen kitchens during cooking events across the Shiselweni region using different cooking methods: biomass in open fires and stoves, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and electric stoves. PM2.5, PM10, and CO exceeded indoor exposure guidelines for biomass fuel-related homesteads. Particulate PAH intake concentrations were evaluated, and biomass fuel users exhibited high cancer risks and low embryo survival chances due to particulate PAH exposure. The average total cost of reducing the incremental lifetime cancer risk (ILCR) and hazard quotient (HQ) to acceptable levels was lower when shifting from biomass to LPG stoves than when shifting to electric stoves. The proposed antenna with a size of 90 mm x 90 mm, and the ground portion is 64 mm x 64 mm, which material is FR4 glass epoxy substrate with the thickness of 1.6 mm, relative permittivity of 4.3 and loss tangent of 0.023, consists of four modified dipole elements and four power dividers, as shown in Figure. 1. For the multi-band and broadband operation, three dipole antennas were shunted to be a dipole element. The electrical-length of the dipole element can be determined from the one quarter-wave length at the 2.45 GHz, 5.5 GHz and 6.525 GHz, for covering 2400 MHz-2500 MHz, 5150 MHz-5850 MHz and 5925 MHz-7125 MHz. In order to operates in various modes such as normal mode and axial mode, the modified four port triple-band microstrip series power divider was designed. In normal mode, it radiates horizontally polarized waves where as in axial mode, it radiates circularly polarized waves. The radiated patterns of the proposed antenna as shown in Figure. 2. The features of the proposed antenna are shown in the Table I. Impressive radiated gains and efficiencies are obtained.

In our study, β-Ga2O3 particles of various morphologies deposited on FTO glass substrates through hydrothermal method under different ph conditions and pre-stirring temperatures. The particles examined using XRd, FESEM, FTIR and Raman spectroscopy instruments. The results showed that the β-Ga2O3 microrods prepared with ph=3.15 solution at different pre-stirring temperatures followed by hydrothermal reaction had several crystalline orientations ([−401], [002], [403]). The FTIR and Raman spectra measurements confirmed the existence of Ga−O−Ga and Ga−OH bending modes. In the range of ph=3-11, the EGFET-ph sensor prepared with β-Ga2O3 microrods shown a high current-ph sensitivity of 0.541 (mA)1/2 /ph with a linearity of 97.83 % and a high voltage-ph sensitivity of 73.99 mV/ph with linearity of 96.85 %. These results suggest that β-Ga2O3 microrods have ph sensitivity higher than the ideal Nernstian response. This confirms the use of β-Ga2O3 microrods as a sensing membrane in high-performance ph sensors or biosensors. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The kitchen waste compost treatment of diesel contaminated soil has the advantages of good bioremediation effect and low treatment cost. However, through understanding the mechanism of microbial degradation of diesel, the disadvantage of biological treatment time in the composting process is too time-consuming. The research results showed that the evolution of microbial communities was affected by physicochemical parameters in the composting process. during the heating period, it was found that Lactobacillus sakei and Escherichia coli were acid producing bacteria. Pseudomonas putida GB-1 is a terpenoid producing bacterium. Bacillus sp. was found to be aldehyde and sulfide producing bacteria during high temperature composting. Brevibacillus borstenensis and Low G + C Gram positive bacteria are ammonia producing bacteria. The microbial degradation mechanism could be deduced according to the VOCs change in compost gas, and the strategies to promote the efficiency of biological treatment in the composting process were provided for reference. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd

To look in-depth into the traditional Mexican truffle, this study investigated the phytochemical and pharmacological properties of field-collected corn galls and the fermentate of its pathogen Ustilago maydis MZ496986. Here, we established the chemical profiles of both materials via the gradient HPLC-UV method and successfully identified six previously unreported chemical entities, ustilagols A-F (1-6), and 17 known components. Compounds 3, 5, and 9 exhibited potent nitric oxide production inhibitory activities in murine brain microglial BV-2 cells (IC50 = 6.7 ± 0.5, 5.8 ± 0.9, and 3.9 ± 0.1 μM) without cytotoxic effects. dIMBOA (9) also attenuates lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated NF-κB activation in RAW 264.7 macrophages (IC50 = 58.1 ± 7.2 μM). Ustilagol G (7) showed potent antiplatelet aggregation in U46619-stimulated human platelets (IC50 = 16.5 ± 5.3 μM). These findings highlighted the potential of corn galls and U. maydis MZ496986 fermentate as functional foods for improving inflammation-related discomforts and vascular obstruction. © 2023 American Chemical Society.

Human health/socioeconomic development is closely correlated to environmental pollution, highlighting the need to monitor contaminants in the real environment with reliable devices such as biosensors. Recently, variety of biosensors gained high attention and employed as application, in real-time, and cost-effective analytical tools for healthy environment. For continuous environmental monitoring, it is necessary for portable, cost-effective, quick, and flexible biosensing devices. These benefits of the biosensor strategy are related to the Sustainable development Goals (SdGs) established by the United Nations (UN), especially with reference to clean water and sources of energy. However, the relationship between SdGs and biosensor application for environmental monitoring is not well understood. In addition, some limitations and challenges might hinder the biosensor application on environmental monitoring. Herein, we reviewed the different types of biosensors, principle and applications, and their correlation with SdG 6, 12, 13, 14, and 15 as a reference for related authorities and administrators to consider. In this review, biosensors for different pollutants such as heavy metals and organics were documented. The present study highlights the application of biosensor for achieving SdGs. Current advantages and future research aspects are summarized in this paper.
