For how to store and transport hydrogen, the first thought is to store hydrogen directly in the cylinder. However, this method is not desirable, because generally at least 700 atm high pressure, the hydrogen contained in the cylinder to be useful. Therefore it is very unsafe at such high pressures. In This paper, we design and production of a new generation of solid-state hydrogen storage and discharge container. The goal of “development of solid-state hydrogen storage technology” is to break through the bottlenecks of hydrogen storage technology safety, hydrogen storage density, high-efficiency hydrogen absorption and release, transportation safety, and engineering practice.

Consider dirichlet problems of Laplace's equation in a bounded simply-connected domain (Formula presented.), and use the null field equation (NFE) of Green's representation formulation, where the source nodes (Formula presented.) are located on a pseudo-boundary (Formula presented.) outside (Formula presented.) but not close to its boundary (Formula presented.). Simple algorithms are proposed in this article by using the central rule for the NFE, and the normal derivatives (Formula presented.) of the solutions on the boundary (Formula presented.) can be easily obtained. These algorithms are called the discrete null field equation method (dNFEM) because the collocation equations are, indeed, the direct discrete form of the NFE. The bounds of the condition number are like those by the method of fundamental solutions (MFS) yielding the exponential growth as the number of unknowns increases. One trouble of the dNFEM is the near singularity of integrations for the solutions in boundary layers in Green's representation formulation. The traditional BEM also suffers from the same trouble. To deal with the near singularity, quadrature by expansions and the sinh transformation are often used. To handle this trouble, however, we develop two kinds of new techniques: (I) the interpolation techniques by Taylor's formulas with piecewise (Formula presented.) -degree polynomials and the Fourier series, and (II) the mini-rules of integrals, such as the mini-Simpson's and the mini-Gaussian rules. Error analysis is made for technique I to achieve optimal convergence rates. Numerical experiments are carried out for disk domains to support the theoretical analysis made. The numerical performance of the dNFEM is excellent for disk domains to compete with the MFS. The errors with (Formula presented.) can be obtained by combination algorithms, which are satisfactory for most engineering problems. Existing works in federated learning (FL) often assume either full client or uniformly distributed client participation. However, in reality, some clients may never participate in FL training (aka incomplete client participation) due to various system heterogeneity factors. A popular solution is the server-assisted federated learning (SA-FL) framework, where the server uses an auxiliary dataset. despite empirical evidence of SA-FL's effectiveness in addressing incomplete client participation, theoretical understanding of SA-FL is lacking. Furthermore, the effects of incomplete client participation in conventional FL are poorly understood. This motivates us to rigorously investigate SA-FL. Toward this end, we first show that conventional FL is not PAC-learnable under incomplete client participation in the worst case. Then, we show that the PAC-learnability of FL with incomplete client participation can indeed be revived by SA-FL, which theoretically justifies the use of SA-FL for the first time. Lastly, to provide practical guidance for SA-FL training under incomplete client participation, we propose the SAFARI (server-assisted federated averaging) algorithm that enjoys the same linear convergence speedup guarantees as classic FL with ideal client participation assumptions, offering the first SA-FL algorithm with convergence guarantee. Extensive experiments on different datasets show SAFARI significantly improves the performance under incomplete client participation.

This paper presents a 20 W high-power RF-to-dC rectifier that can be applied to wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. To address the power limitations of conventional diodes, a rectifier is designed based on a gallium nitride (GaN) integrated circuit (IC) quasi-vertical Schottky barrier diode (SBd). Leveraging the advantages of high mobility, wide bandgap, and saturation velocity of the GaN, significant benefits of the diode have been derived, with an ultra-low turn-on voltage of 0.23 ± 0.005 V (at 1 A/cm 2 ) and a high breakdown voltage of 180 V, to improve the rectification performance. Using this diode, a high-power rectifier with a wide input power range and high efficiency is developed. The proposed rectifier structure consists of a single-shunt self-developed diode and a topology with class-F harmonics control networks. It achieves a peak power conversion efficiency of 72.9% with an input power of 43 dBm at 900 MHz.

Cancer immunotherapy harnesses the immune system to combat tumors and has emerged as a major cancer treatment modality. The Pd-1/Pd-L1 immune checkpoint modulates interactions between tumor cells and T cells and has been extensively targeted in cancer immunotherapy. However, the monoclonal antibodies known to target this immune checkpoint have considerable side effects, and novel Pd-1/Pd-L1 inhibitors are therefore required. Herein, a peptide inhibitor to disrupt Pd-1/Pd-L1 interactions was designed through structure-driven phage display engineering coupled to computational modification and optimization. BetaPb, a novel peptide library constructed by using the known structure of Pd-1/Pd-L, was used to develop inhibitors against the immune checkpoint, and specific peptides with high affinity toward Pd-1 were screened through enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, homogeneous time-resolved fluorescence, and biolayer interferometry. A potential inhibitor, B8, was preliminarily screened through biopanning. The binding affinity of B8 toward Pd-1 was confirmed through computation-aided optimization. Assessment of B8 variants (B8.1, B8.2, B8.3, B8.4, and B8.5) demonstrated their attenuation of Pd-1/Pd-L1 interactions. B8.4 exhibited the strongest attenuation efficiency at a half-maximal effective concentration of 0.1 μM and the strongest binding affinity to Pd-1 (equilibrium dissociation constant = 0.1 μM). B8.4 outperformed the known Pd-1/Pd-L1 interaction inhibitor PL120131 in disrupting Pd-1/Pd-L1 interactions, revealing that B8.4 has remarkable potential for modification to yield an antitumor agent. This study provides valuable information for the future development of peptide-based drugs, therapeutics, and immunotherapies for cancer. © 2024 American Chemical Society.

An acute bacterial infection called avian spirochetosis is spread by ticks to a variety of birds. Clinical symptoms can vary greatly and are frequently non-specific. To diagnose a condition, the infectious spirochete must be detected. Here, we structure an epidemic model for the transmission of avian spirochetosis to visualize the interaction between tick and bird populations. The recommended dynamics of avian spirochetosis is illustrated with the help of fractional framework. We inspected the steady-states of the system of the avian spirochetosis for the stability analysis. The next-generation technique is used to evaluate the model’s reproduction parameter (Formula presented.) The infection-free and endemic steady-state of avian spirochetosis were shown to be locally asymptotically stable under the specified conditions. Through mathematical skills, the positivity of solutions is determined. Additionally, evidence supporting the existence and uniqueness of the avian spirochetosis framework solution has been shown. We conduct modified simulations of the suggested avian spirochetosis system with different input factors to study the complex phenomena of avian spirochetosis under the effect of numerous input parameters. Our outcomes illustrate the significance and plausibility of fractional parameter, and they also suggest that this input parameter may adequately account for these kinds of observations. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The presence of airborne viruses in bioaerosols is a significant and ongoing public health concern. In this context, this study aimed to develop a new filter that integrates nanosilver into a TiO2-chitosan matrix (nano-Ag/TiO2-CS) to inactivate the non-enveloped bacteriophage MS2 as a viral aerosol surrogate. The materials were characterized using various techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRd), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The SEM images showed that the nano-Ag particles were spheres with a high surface area for virus interactions and that the fiber surfaces were covered by nano-Ag, which enhanced contact with viruses. The optimal 5 wt% nano-Ag/TiO2-CS filter combined with a negative air ionizer (NAI) showed the highest viral aerosol removal efficiency, which reached 97 %. The use of an NAI during filtration enhanced the inactivation of the viral aerosols. A long-term antiviral efficacy assessment showed that the nano-Ag/TiO2-CS filter demonstrated robust durability, which is vital for real-world applications. The nanofilter proposed in this work is simple, safe, and cost-effective for inactivating viral aerosols to improve indoor air quality. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

This research aims to create a smart residential system that will improve parking management in residential areas using mini-server technology. Another aim is to provide a safe and effective smart parking solution for residential areas with limited capacity. This research method uses mini-server technology and control to create smart system ideas. Apart from that, this research also uses servo motor technology, proximity sensors, cameras, and IoT applications for smart parking management. The result is the creation of intelligent residential parking management, which uses a Raspberry Pi 5 Model B as a server and control to improve the parking management system in residential areas, and the use of number plate recognition technology to be applied to Smart City. This further research offers a new perspective on creating intelligent parking solutions using two input validation parameters simultaneously, namely facial and license plate recognition

Here, we propose phase and interfacial engineering by inserting a functional WO3 layer and selenized it to achieve a 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 heterolayer structure by a plasma-assisted selenization process. The 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 heterolayer was coupled with an Al2O3 film as a resistive switching (RS) layer to form a hybrid structure, with which Pt and W films were used as the top and bottom electrodes, respectively. The device with good uniformity in SET/RESET voltage and high low-/high-resistance window can be obtained by controlling a conversion ratio from a WO3 film to a 2d-layered WSe2 thin film. The Pt/Al2O3/(2d-layered WSe2/WO3)/W structure shows remarkable improvement to the pristine Pt/Al2O3/W and Pt/Al2O3/2d-layered WO3/W in terms of low SET/RESET voltage variability (−20/20)%, multilevel characteristics (uniform LRS/HRS distribution), high on/off ratio (104-105), and retention (∼105 s). The thickness of the obtained WSe2 was tuned at different gas ratios to optimize different 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 (%) ratios, showing a distinctive trend of reduced and uniform SET/RESET voltage variability as 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 (%) changes from 90/10 (%) to 45/55 (%), respectively. The electrical measurements confirm the superior ability of the metallic 1T phase of the 2d-layered WSe2 over the semiconducting 2H phase. Through systemic studies of RS behaviors on the effect of 1T/2H phases and 2d-layered WSe2/WO3 ratios, the low-temperature plasma-assisted selenization offers compatibility with the temperature-limited 3d integration process and also provides much better thickness control over a large area. © 2023 American Chemical Society.

In this study, a micro-led display, an eye chart player software, and image capture and processing module were used to construct a color refractive error exam for subject with speech disorder. This method can be used to test subjects with refractive errors, eye's color vision and other pathological problems. The micro-led display uses an eye chart player program to display the capital letters E and the other fonts, and the gaps of the E letters can be tumbled in any direction. When subjects with speech disorder were examined for vision, the E chart was displayed sequentially from big letters to small letters, and the image capture and processing module was synchronized with the eye chart player program. The subjects only need to point out the direction of the gap with gestures, and the image capture and processing module can simultaneously capture the gestures of the subjects to judge visual test status. In this study, twenty subjects were tested and all obtained the correct VA value and wore excellent eye glasses. The characteristic of this innovative method is that the subjects with a speech disorder can use simple hand gestures to complete the visual exam through the image capture and processing module during the inspection. © 2022 IEEE.
