作者: V.A. Yakubovich S. Nakaura K. Furuta Vladimir A. Yakubovich is a corresponding member of Russian Academy of Science. Vladimir A. Yakubovich was born in Novosibirsk Russia in 1926. he entered Moscow University in 1946 and graduated in 1949. he received the Candidate of Science degree (Ph.D.) in 1953 and the Doctor of Science degree in 1959 from Leningrad University. In 1959 he joined the Leningrad University and he has remained since then. He is the author of more than 270 papers and a coauthor of seven books in different areas of applied mathematics and control theory. he has worked in parametric resonance theory in the theory of stability of nonlinear systems and in optimization theory. Dr. Yakubovich has served on many scientific committees and editorial boards. he is a member of several scientific socienties in Russia. He was awarded the Norbert Wiener Prize (1991) a prize from the international editorial company “Nauka” for best publication in its journals (1995) and the IEEE Control Systems Award (1996). Since 1991 he has been a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dept. of Control Engineering Tokyo Institute of Technology Japan. Shigeki Nakaura received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Control Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1995 and 1997 respectively. He is currently a PhD student of the Tokyo Institute of Technology. His research interests include robotics and intelligent machining. He is a member of SICE JSPE and IEEE. Katsuhisa Furuta was born in Tokyo Japan in 1940. He received his B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1962 1964 and 1967 respectively. he was a post doctoral fellow at Laval University (Quebec Canada) from July 1967 to August 1969. Yu-Chi (Larry) Ho received his S.B. and S.M. degrees in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. Except for three years of full time industrial work he has been on the Harvard Faculty. Since 1969 he has been Gordon McKay Professor of Engineering and Applied Mathematics. In 1988 he was appointed to the T. Jefferson Coolidge Chair in Applied Mathematics and Gordon McKay Yu-Chi (Larry) Ho received his S.B. and S.M. degrees in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T. and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Harvard University. Except for three years of full time industrial work he has been on the Harvard Faculty. Since 1969 he has been Gordon McKay Professor of Engineering and Applied Mathematics. In 1988 he was appointed to the T. Jefferson Coolidge Chair in Applied Mathematics and Gordon McKay Professor of Engineering at Harvard and as visiting professor to the Cockrell Family Regent's Chair in Engineering at the University of Texas Austin. He has published over 120 articles and three books one of which (co-authored with A.E. Bryson Jr.) has been translated into both Russian and Chinese and made the list of Citation Classics as one of the most referenced works on the subject of optimal control. He is on the editorial boards of several international journals and is the editor-in-chief of the new international Journal on Discrete Event Dynamic Systems. He is the recipient of various fellowships and awards including the Guggenheim (1970) and the IEEE Field Award for Control Engineering and Science (1989) the Chiang Technology Achievement Award (1993). He is a fellow of IEEE a Distinguished Member of the Control Systems Society and a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering from Kyoto university Japan in 1992 and 1994 respectively. From 1994 to 1998 he was a Research Associate in the Department of Information Technology Okayama University. Since April 1998 he has been a Research Associate in the Graduate School of Informatics Kyoto University. His current research interests include robust control and control system design via mathematical programming. Yutaka Yamamoto received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in engineering from Kyoto University Kyoto Japan in 1972 and 1974 respectively and the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in mathematics from the University of Florida in 1976 and 1978 respectively. From 1978 to 1987 he was with Department of Applied Mathematics and Physics Kyoto University and from 1987 to 1997 with Department of Applied System Science. Since 1998 he is a professor at the current position. His current research interests include realization and robust control of distributed parameter systems learning control sampled-data systems and digital signal processing. He obtained the Bachelor's Degree in Physics/Electrical Engineering and the Master's of Electrical Engineering Degree at Rice University in 1971. He spent six years in the U.S. navy serving as Navigator aboard the frigate USS Trippe (FF-1075) and Executive Officer and Acting Commanding Officer aboard USS Salinan (ATF-161). In 1977 he received the Master's of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of West Florida. In 1981 he obtained the Ph.D. degree at The Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta where he was employed as a professor from 1981 to 1990 and is currently an Adjunct Professor. He is a Professor of Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at Arlington where he was awarded the Moncrief-O'Donnell Endowed Chair in 1990 at the Automation and Robotics Research Institute. Dr. Lewis has studied the geometric analytic and structural properties of dynamical systems and feedback control automation. His current interests include robotics intelligent control neural and fuzzy systes nonlinear systems and manufacturing process control.
