Fan-out Wafer-level Packaging (FOWLP) technology has become one of the most rapid packaging technologies which can meet consumer demand for electronic devices. Since there are many advantages to FOWLP, several important issues remain to be addressed, including yield, reliability, thermal performance, die shift, and warpage. Therefore, the main reasons that cause the yield problem of the FOWLP are the mismatch of temperature loading and coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) among the components of the package, and the other reason is the chemical shrinkage of liquid type epoxy molding compound during the cure process. In this study, the main goal is to assess the process-induced warpage of FOWLP during the fabrication process. To predict the amount of warpage precisely, a process-dependent simulation model which includes the cure-induced shrinkage of the liquid type of molding compound obtained by measurement is proposed. To confirm the validity of the simulation model, the simulation results are compared to the online warpage measurement data. Finally, the influence of the material properties of molding compound parameters on the process-induced warpage is discussed.

Unmanned helicopter is an air vehicle with high dynamic motions. The development of the autonomous flight control for unmanned helicopters is limited by the inherent instability and the nonlinearity of its dynamic model. The objective of this paper is to build a development environment for the autonomous flight control of unmanned helicopters. At the beginning of the study, a software-in-the-loop (SIL) simulation system was implemented. Then, fuzzy logic control (FLC) was adopted and employed to demonstrate the autonomous flight of a target radio-controlled (RC) helicopter in a flight simulator, X-plane. Finally, a Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation system was built to verify the performance of the developed autonomous flight control system for two flight modes, altitude hold and position fixed modes. The results of the simulations reveal that the developed simulation environment is viable for the development of the autonomous flight control system for unmanned helicopters. © 2017 IEEE.

Objectives:Many cancer biomarkers such as the circulating tumor cells/microemboli (CTCs/CTM) have been reported significant associations with clinical outcomes. However, different biomarkers have different sensitivities and specificities for cancer types and cohort patients, and synergistic effects between certain biomarkers have also been observed, leading to the inaccurate, fluctuating, and even controversial results when multiple biomarkers are analyzed together. In this paper, a novel combinational index, P-score, was developed for monitoring and predicting the disease condition of lung cancer patients during follow-up visits. Materials and methods:There were totally 13 return patients with 54 blood samples involved in this study to examine the number of CTC and CTM. Information from one group of 7 patients including 27 blood samples with published clinical data was employed to develop while those from another group of 4 patients containing 14 blood samples with unpublished clinical data were used to validate the P score in prediction. Enumerations were based on immunofluorescent staining images. distributions of CTC/CTM and their frequencies in stratified patients were carefully examined and analyzed the ROC curve and AUC value to develop the P score and P score-based prediction model. Results and conclusion:We found that the predictive power of P-score was not only comparable to the traditional cancer marker, in comparison with individual CTC/CTM, more false positives could be corrected by using P-score, thereby to improve the accuracy of analysis. From our preliminary validation tests, the prognosis and disease progression monitored longitudinally by P-score were further confirmed by clinical outcome data from physicians and its sensitivity was even better than those from individual biomarkers. We believe that this novel combinational indicator could be a promising tool to interpret clinical outcomes more accurately from multiple factors, particularly useful

This research examines the forecasting performance of wavelet neural network (WNN) model using published stock data obtained from Financial Times Stock Exchange (FTSE) Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) 50 index, also known as Taiwan Stock Exchange Capitalization Weighted Stock Index (TAIEX), hereinafter referred to as Taiwan 50. Our WNN model uses particle swarm optimization (PSO) to choose the appropriate initial network values for different companies. The findings come with two advantages. First, the network initial values are automatically selected instead of being a constant. Second, threshold and training data percentage become constant values, because PSO assists with self-adjustment. We can achieve a success rate over 73% without the necessity to manually adjust parameter or create another math model. © The Authors, published by EdP Sciences, 2017.

At present, the problem of wind turbines affecting flying organisms has been highly valued. Wind turbines will not only attack flying creatures through rotating blades, but also the flying organisms will affect the habitat of ground creatures because of the reduction of flying height. In this study, a fan with protection function is designed by designing a wind turbine system with a wind tunnel design that can be smoothly adopted by birds. Because the blade is not in direct contact with the wind, it is introduced into the blade through the wind tunnel. Therefore, in the design of the wind tunnel, not only the wind speed of the introduction is not weakened, but also the wind speed can be fastened through the structural angle. Therefore, the blades can be rotated as scheduled to achieve the purpose of wind power generation. In the design of the wind tunnel, the study conducted the wind speed test of the structure through continuous fluid analysis. In the results obtained, correct all structures that may affect wind speed and re-analyze to ensure that the wind speed can successfully to achieve the goal. At the same time, the maximum wind speed obtained will be used to test the torque and power generation by the formula to see if the design is able to reach the goal of power generating.

To reduce the structural weight and volume and satisfy an optimal balance of performance constraints, a study using a porous rectangular foldable board and structurally improved trolley model was conducted, and motion simulations were performed to derive the static and transient structural properties. The simulations revealed that the fatigue lifetimes of both the main structure and the porous boards were in a high-standard-value range, whereas the transient analysis indicated that both the directional deformation and equivalent stress exhibited minimal local values. For porous boards simply supported only on two sides, the trolley had a much smaller collapsed volume than other types of trolley. The static analysis indicated that this trolley prototype had a good safety coefficient and long fatigue lifetime. The transient analysis showed that the porous area had a higher strength and bending load than the non-porous area. The overall transient response was close to that of a steady-state, showing a negligible effect on the ***.

Multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have become common in recent years, but non-rotor UAVs are still relatively rare. This study used an aerodynamic model to replace the multi-rotor design concept and examine load bearing capabilities, specifically for delivery of medical goods by non-rotor UAV. We use static structural simulations for static analysis and fatigue analysis to investigate the capabilities of different structural materials. The simulation results combined fatigue strength verifications, structural safety factor calculations, and finite element analyses to calculate parameters like total deformation, stress ratios, and strain magnitudes to analyze structural fatigue life. The analyses indicated that the factors of safety and fatigue lifetimes of two structural materials far exceeded standard values. They can be used to optimize designs that prevent plastic deformation and breakage. Time and money are saved in the research and development process by carrying out these calculations and static analyses of physical properties before prototypes are actually built. © The Authors, published by EdP Sciences, 2017.

In recent years, due to the raising of green manufacturing and environmental consciousness, the industrial equipment and molded product request toward energy saving, reducing cycle time and secondary process procedure. With high strength, high stiffness, high design possibility, better fatigue life and better corrosion resistance capability, PA66 polymer composite materials are gaining more and more attention in functional products. In this study, PA66 polymer composites material used in slide components molding to replace the original metal material. The results indicated that PA66 polymer composites add 2%wt MoS2 result higher tensile strength and flexural strength than the original polymer material. The value of increased strength of tensile strength is 8% and flexural strength is 27%. In addition, the CAE simulated results are successful to predictive molding characteristics and improve structural strength of molded parts. © 2017 IEEE.

A spectroscopy and visual investigation for turbulent swirling flames formed by four-circumferential swirling turbojet EV in comparison with a two-circumferential swirling air entries configuration burner using hyper spectral camera. The special design of the EV-burner guarantees flame stabilization at the burner exit by a recirculation of hot gases and entrained fresh reactance mixture. A recirculation zone (vortex breakdown) can be generated when a sufficient strong swirling flow exist. The main parameter of combustion diagnostics based on optical devices is the flame itself, whose spectrum is closely related to the process state, as a fingerprint of the instantaneous operational condition, in terms of energetic yield, fuel consumption and pollutants emissions. The hyperspectral imaging technique in the aspect of flame analysis to give a complete description for the flame zones behavior and distribution of reactions through the whole flame. The spectral peaks for issued flames have been studied to give complete vision for the effect of changing the equivalence ratio and different burner arrangement four and two circumferential swirling entries.

This paper presents a Wave digital Filter (WdF) emulation system suitable for audio applications implemented on a Field programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The WdF structures are programmed in the reconfigurable FPGA CompactRIO via LabVIEW. When the system runs in real-time, the circuit parameters are controlled and monitored via a graphical user interface on a host computer. A tone control and a three way crossover filter are presented as application examples. The WdF emulations are validated by measuring the signals from the FPGA I/O modules with a data acquisition system. Measurement results confirm the accuracy of the presented examples and the reliability of CompactRIO to perform WdF audio circuit emulations. © 2016 ACM.
