He attended the University of Tokyo Japan where he received his Master's and Ph.D. degrees in 1986 and 1989 respectively. All his degrees are in Electrical Engineering. He worked for one year in the Hitachi research Laboratory Japan and for more than one year in Ohio State University U.S.A. as a Visiting Scholar. In 1991 he joined the National University of Singapore and is currently an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. His research interests lie in the fields of learning control variable structure control fuzzy logic control discontinuous signal processing and applications to motion control and process control problems. He is the associate editor of Asian Journal of Control member of TC on variable structure systems and sliding mode control of IEEE Control Systems Society and a senior member of IEEE. He has produced more than 90 peer-refereed journal papers near 160 technical papers in conference proceedings and authored/edited 4 books. Currently he serves as the Chair of the National Colloquium on Information System Security Education. Schou also directs the ISU National Center of Excellence in Information Assurance Education and the ISU Technology Innovation Center. A member of the University of Idaho College of Engineering faculty. She graduated from the University of California at Davis. Frincke is the co-director and co-founder of the university's Center for Secure and Dependable Software (CSDS). She was the program chair for the 2nd International Workshop on Recent Advances in Intrusion Detection (RAID). A professor of Computer Science at the College of Integrated Science and Technology at James Madison University in Harrisonburg Virginia. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in philosophy from the University of Houston. Reynolds is the Director of Information System Security Education at James Madison University. Since 1997 Reynolds has led the development of the first remote Internet-based curriculum that leads to an M.S. degree in computer science with a concentration in information security. Thus far 160 students have completed this program. A professor of computer information systems at Idaho State University and the manager of its Simplot Decision Support Center.

She has been studying aspects of language communication and culture on the Internet since 1991. Her interests include the nature and implications of playfulness in digital communication consequences of the loss of the text as material object in computerized communication the new media and the future of performativity email and the history of letter-writing gender play and performance on the Internet and virtual theatre. During the 1996-97 academic year she is on sabbatical at the Center for Folklife Programs & Cultural Studies The Smithsonian Institution Washington DC where she is working on a book Keybo@rd K@perz: Play Culture and Communication in the Early Digital Age. LIVELY graduated from the University of Colorado with a BS in applied mathematics and an MS in mathematics in 1976 and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an MS in electrical engineering and the degree ocean engineer in naval architecture and marine engineering in 1984. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1989 after 23 years of service. Assignments included electrical officer on the USS Constellation (CV 64) project engineer for the DDG 51 machinery control system (NAVSEA) and DDG 51 Technical Director (NAVSEA). He was vice president of the PDI Division of Bird-Johnson Company from July 1989 to November 1998 where he managed various gas turbine and machinery controls related development projects. He joined Anteon Corporation's Systems Engineering Group as senior controls engineer in December 1998 where he provided technical support to the integrated power systems program (NAVSEA PMS 510) and managed the Office of Naval Research Afloat Laboratory. DR. MARK KIRKPATRICK is currently an independent consultant in human factors and work-load/manning analysis and modeling. He holds a Ph.D. degree in experimental psychology from The Ohio State University and has 34 years of experience in applied human factors. From 1982 through 2000 Dr. Kirkpatrick served as the senior vice president of Carlow International. Dr. Smith was instrumental in developing the statistical procedures underlying the Navy's ODS reserve monitoring plan. DAVID A. BRESLIN P.E. is the director of technical operations for the Naval Surface Warfare Center and chairs the ASNE/SNAME Joint Committee on Environmental Engineering. He received a master of science in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech a master of engineering administration in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech and a bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. His other tasks have included the command and control for the AEGIS shipbuilding program systems engineering for the 21st Century Surface Combatant combat system survivability and the development of NATO standardization agreements for naval ordnance. He was previously a Senior Engineer with San Diego Gas & Electric with responsibility for its energy application and lighting programs. Prior to joining SDG&E Mr. Leite was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy where he served in operations and engineering assignments. Following active duty he accepted a Naval Reserve commission and has retired with the rank of Captain. His assignments included command operational and engineering tours. Mr. Leite has also served as an expert witness in admiralty and engineering matters. He is a gradate of the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering and also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from National University in San Diego.
