This paper uses the transmission mechanism of a coaxial counter-rotating rotorcraft equipped with blade designs of different airfoils. The blades are all made of aluminum alloy 6061T6. To study the deformation of the aluminum alloy blades of the rotorcraft when it hovers. It investigates the deformation and vibration displacement of the blade under the influence of aeroelasticity under the condition of fixed angle of attack and different rotation speeds. The airfoils used for study mainly consider the NACA0012 symmetrical airfoil and the other improved design Viper-X asymmetrical airfoil (A0) as test objects. The angle of attack used in the study is 10°, and the rotational speeds used are medium rotational speed ranges such as 400rpm, 450 rpm, 500 rpm, 550 rpm, and 600 rpm. A non-contact laser displacement sensor was used as the experimental measurement method for data measurement in this study. Finally, when the rotational speed exceeds 500rpm, the improved design of the asymmetric airfoil A0 is indeed more stable than the symmetrical airfoil NACA0012. © 2024 SPIE.

The aim of this study is to propose innovative three-dimensional channel-based and scene-based measurement techniques for spatial sound fields, based on two-dimensional measurement and analysis, which can be used for measurement and analysis of important acoustic parameters in concert halls with more than 1,000 seats. The results were compared with actual reverberation time 60 (RT 60 ) and early decay time (EdT) measurements obtained on site in 2006, with differences between the methods proposed in this study and on-site measurements ranging from 0.2 s~0.4 s. Scene-based results were closest, with an average error of only 0.027 s. The error decreased as the frequency increased, reaching a minimum of 0.004 s. In addition, scene-based measurement not only simplifies the complex and tedious measurement processes of the past, but also produces more diverse spatial parameters for a comprehensive understanding of the acoustic characteristics of a space, which designers can quickly grasp and which can be used as references for optimization and improvement.

The geometric dimensions of vent holes in headphone products are key to the impedance characteristics of sound wave propagation and, in turn, affect the low-frequency acoustic performance. However, qualitative and quantitative research on this topic is still insufficient. Therefore, we studied headphone rear chamber vent hole, with a diameter and depth of 1.0 mm and 2 mm, respectively. The acoustic specific airflow resistance of the vent hole was measured using a self-made system that consists of a differential pressure meter and a flow controller. Then, the results were input into the model for correction, to complete the verification between finite element simulation and measurements. The results showed that simulations corrected with the specific airflow resistance measurements of vent hole in the headphone chamber not only enhance the accuracy of low-frequency simulations, but also effectively reduce the error, with maximum discrepancy between simulation and measurement decreasing from 1.3% to 0.063%.

Study on the Predictions of Acoustic Characteristics of Microspeakers Based on the Specific Airflow Resistance of Ventilation Materials: Mesh Type

In this study is presented a method for predicting the acoustic characteristics of microspeakers with mesh-type ventilation materials that combines specific airflow resistance with equivalent circuit model. The specific airflow resistances of eight types of ventilation materials were quantified using a self-made measurement system. These materials were then used to simulate the acoustic properties of 40 φ and 20 φ microspeakers, respectively. The results were compared with simulation results obtained using dr. Maa's porous plate acoustic impedance and actual measurements. After applying a stable correction factor, the self-made measurement system accurately determined specific airflow resistance values with high reproducibility and stability. A regression curve based on scanning electron microscope obtained porosity and measured specific airflow resistance effectively predicted the specific airflow resistance of materials with known porosity. Applying these values to acoustic simulations, the proposed method significantly improved accuracy, outperforming dr. Maa's method by a factor of six, and closely matched actual measurements. This innovative approach is versatile and applicable to various conditions and types of ventilation materials, as well as enhances predictions of their impact on electro-acoustic product performance. © 2024, The Authors. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely used in various industries. The present study focused on the optimization of the configuration of the vertical electric ducted fans (EdFs) of UAVs to enhance the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) performance of UAVs, improve the configuration of their propulsion system, address the potential risk of exposed propellers, and reduce the space required between the fluid channel and the outlet in horizontal EdFs. A UAV aircraft module with a vertical EdF configuration was designed, following which structural analysis and flow field analysis were conducted using Ansys. The results of these analyses indicate that the overall flow of the designed module is smooth and stable without vortex generation and that the inlet and outlet air velocity performance of this module is excellent. The lift parameters of the rotor groups of the designed module are identical to each other;thus, the flight stability of the UAV in the air can be maintained, and the requirements for optimized design can be met. This study makes two contributions to the literature. First, the structural module of a vertical EdF propulsion system was proposed with an encapsulated impeller set hidden inside the vehicle structure to reduce the risk of propeller exposure. Second, the configuration of vertical EdF compared to the horizontal configuration shortens the airflow channel, which helps to stabilize the wind speed at the outlet, thereby increasing lifting capacity and propulsion efficiency. © 2024 SPIE.

This study aims to give an accurate estimate of the effective thermal-mechanical properties of a coreless circuit substrate for advanced IC packages. To achieve the goal, a subdomain-based effective method is proposed, incorporating a sub-domain three-dimensional (3d) copper trace mapping and modeling (TMM) method, a volume-averaging rule of mixture (ROM) technique and finite element modeling. Furthermore, the proposed effective method is combined with an FEA-based process simulation framework to investigate the process-induced warpage of a flip-chip chip scale package during fabrication. At last, parametric analysis is performed to identify the crucial factors influencing the process-induced warpage of the package.

An immobilized hydrogen-producing consortium investigated biohydrogen production from food waste using a combination of sodium alginate and cassava rhizome biochar. We investigated the effect of varying the biochar concentration from 0 to 3% and the size of immobilized cells from 1 to 7 mm. Immobilized cells were prepared using 50% (v/v) enriched hydrogen-producing consortium, 2% (w/v) sodium alginate, and 0 to 3% (w/v) cassava rhizome biochar. The optimal conditions for achieving the highest hydrogen production in the batch fermentation reactor were identified as a biochar concentration of 2% (w/v) and an immobilized cell size of 2 mm. The highest hydrogen yield, maximum hydrogen production rate, and lag time recorded were 0.69 mmol H2/g-COd, 0.02 mmol H2/g-COd.h, and 41.51 h, respectively. This research highlights the potential of cassava biochar technology for efficient biohydrogen production from food waste, contributing to renewable energy generation and sustainable waste management. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

IC testing is essential in the semiconductor value chain, and it strengthens process control and effectively reduces packaging cost. The probe card (PC) is one of the key tools for IC testing. After a certain period of usage, the PC requires regular maintenance/adjustment. This paper investigates the design / development methods for the automatic probe card adjustment (PCA) machine, including the system architecture design, high precision automation algorithm, and the system integration to guarantee the final precision accuracy of ±2.5um with the direct touch of the operators' hand.

This study designed and examined counter-current water flow with manual and automatic control in a swimming pool, which improves the learning effectiveness for people with physical and mental disorders. 29 elementary school students with autism and three students with down syndrome participated in the experiment. Their functional fitness, self-care ability, and motor skills were improved after swimming. The device of counter and upward current provided a safer, more interesting, and effective learning environment than a traditional pool. © 2020 IEEE.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are widely applied in various industries and fields. Because they use a variety of rotor types, from single rotors to multi-rotors, UAVs offer a wide array of functions. However, continuously rotating rotors can be dangerous if they accidentally encounter foreign objects or bare hands. Therefore, non-rotor UAVs are the focus of discussion and modification in the present study. Non-rotor UAVs do not contain visible rotor mechanical components. Compared with the development of popularized multirotor UAVs, that of non-rotor UAVs is challenging in terms of structure and flight control. To address this challenge, wind tunnel structure models were developed in this study for different levels of aerodynamic force, and computer-aided engineering was used to conduct structural and flow field analyses to determine the key elements that reinforce non-rotor UAV structures. The research results revealed that the thickness and fillet design at the joint of the non-rotor UAV aerodynamic wind tunnel system were crucial factors influencing the system's performance. Motor rotors can be embedded inside support structures to reduce airflow turbulence in the wind tunnel. © 2021 Institute of physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
