In this study, we aimed to develop LED lighting with an emission spectrum effective for microalgae propagation, and fabricated LED lighting with Phosphor layer RGB, which has peaks in the red, green, and blue wavelength bands, and Phosphor layer RG'B', which has broader peaks in the red, green, and blue wavelength bands. In order to examine the effect of microalgae propagation, Closterium ehrenbergii samples prepared at different dilution rates were irradiated with LED illumination light of Phosphor layer RG'B' and Phosphor layer RGB, respectively, for 7 days, and their propagation rates were compared. The results of the experiment showed that Phosphor layer RG'B' produced a higher propagation rate than Phosphor layer RGB. © 2024 IEEE.

Effective uncertain fault diagnosis technique for wind conversion systems using improved ensemble learning algorithm

This paper introduces a pioneering fault diagnosis technique termed Interval Ensemble Learning based on Sine Cosine Optimization Algorithm (IEL- SCOA), tailored to tackle uncertainties prevalent in wind energy conversion (WEC) systems. The approach unfolds in three integral phases. Firstly, the establishment of interval centers and ranges, employing upper and lower bounds, effectively manages the inherent uncertainties arising from noise and measurement errors intrinsic to the wind system. Subsequently, the dataset undergoes processing via the Sine-Cosine Optimization Algorithm (SCOA), enabling the extraction of the most pertinent attributes. The culmination of predictive precision and classification performance is achieved through the integration of the refined dataset into an ensemble learning paradigm, harmonizing bagging, boosting techniques, and an artificial neural network classifier. The principal aim of the IEL-SCOA approach is to discern the spectrum of operational conditions within WEC systems, encompassing a healthy mode alongside six distinct faulty modes. These anomalies, encompassing short circuits, open circuits, and wear-out incidents, are deliberately induced at diverse locations and facets of the system, notably the generator and grid sides. Empirical results underscore the robustness and efficiency of the proposed methodology, showcasing an exceptional accuracy rate of 99.76 %. These outcomes definitively establish the IEL-SCOA approach as a potent and efficacious tool for precise fault diagnosis in uncertain WEC systems. © 2023

Nickel is typically used as one of the main components in electrical contact devices or *** oxide(NiO)is usually formed on the surfaces of electrodes and can negatively impact system performance by introducing electrical contact *** thermal,electrical,and transport properties of NiO,as a Mott insulator or a p-type semiconductor,can be altered by operating and environmental conditions such as temperature and stress/strain by *** this study,we inves-tigate the fundamental material properties of NiO through the first-principle ***,we obtain and compare the lattice parameter,magnetic moment,and electronic structure for NiO via the WIEN2K simulations with four different poten-tials(i.e.,GGA,GGA+U,LSDA,and LSDA+U).Then,using the WIEN2K simulation results with LSDA+U potential that produces a highly accurate bandgap for NiO,we calculate the electrical conductivity and electrical part of the thermal conductivity of nickel and NiO as a function of temperature and carrier concentration through the BoltzTraP *** simulation results revealed that the electrical conductivity relative to the relaxation time for NiO increases with the carrier concentration,while it shows a slightly decreasing trend with temperature under a fixed carrier *** contrast,the electrical part of the thermal conductivity shows an increasing trend considering carrier concentration and temperature.

This study develops an adaptive handover strategy in 5G networks to tackle high mobility challenges and improve service continuity and quality. The research method uses a 5G network emulator with a topology of four base stations (gNBs) to test user equipment (UE) speeds of 20 km/h and 130 km/h. The adaptive algorithm developed utilizes data from the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) as well as the speed and direction of user mobility to make optimal handover decisions. The results show that at a speed of 130 km/h, the average handover latency reaches 12 ms, compared to 8 ms at 80 km/h. Additionally, the signal quality (RSSI) is lower at higher speeds, negatively affecting service quality. This adaptive algorithm successfully reduces handover latency and improves the stability and efficiency of the overall network. The testing also indicates that this adaptive algorithm can predict handover targets by considering UE speed and direction and uses hysteresis mechanisms to prevent overly frequent handovers. By employing technologies such as Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) and beamforming, this strategy is expected to maintain high service quality even under high mobility conditions. © 2024 IEEE.

A multi-trace surface integral equation (MT-SIE) solver is proposed to analyze electromagnetic field interactions on graphene-based devices. This solver decomposes the computation domain into an exterior subdomain (the background medium where the device resides in) and an interior subdomain that represents the device's dielectric substrate. The infinitesimally thin graphene sheet partially covers the interface between these two subdomains. On the graphene surface and the rest of this interface, resistive Robin transmission conditions (formulated for the first time in this work) and the traditional Robin transmission conditions are used to "connect"these two subdomains, respectively. In each subdomain, the electric and magnetic field equations are used as the governing equations. Various numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the accuracy and the applicability of the proposed MT-SIE solver. © 2022 IEEE.

Amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (a-IGZO)-based thin film transistors (TFTs) are increasingly becoming popular because of their potential in futuristic applications, including CMOS technology. Given the demand for CMOS-compatible, ultra-scaled, reliable, and high-performing devices, we fabricate and analyze scaled-channel a-IGZO-TFTs with an optimal double-gate structure, a thin nanosheet-based channel, and an effective high- κ dielectric namely HfO2. The reliably reported double gate IGZO nanosheet TFTs (DG-IGZO-NS-TFTs) are tested under positive and negative bias stress at variant temperatures, and the resulting modulations are analyzed critically. The reported DG-IGZO-NSTFTs exhibit a negative side threshold voltage shift (Δ Vth) accompanied by an increase in Ion/Ion(0) under negative bias temperature stress (NBTS) at elevated temperatures, which indicates the presence of additional charges. An anomalous negative side shifting of the Vth is observed under positive bias temperature stress (PBTS), where diffused hydrogen atoms are identified as introducing excess n-type carriers into the channel and causing the observed Δ Vth. The spectroscopic analysis is performed to establish evidence for the assumed mechanisms, and the role of individual gates is investigated in the context of performance variance under temperature-bias stress. Moreover, the partial reversibility of the stress-induced degradation is experimentally established and methodically discussed. Overall, the reported results offer a comprehensive understanding of scaled-channel DG-NS-IGZO-TFTs, which help shape performance-enhancement strategies, control degradation mechanisms, and define appropriate application scenarios. © 2013 IEEE.

Versatile Video Coding (H.266/VVC) is the newest video coding standard jointly developed by the Joint Video Experts Team (JVET), which is organized by the ITU-T Video Coding Experts Group (VCEG) and the ISO/IEC Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). H.266/VVC provides about 40% bitrate reduction compared with High Efficiency Video Coding (H.265/HEVC) for the same visual quality. This paper introduces in detail the core structure of H.266/VVC by highlighting its features within block partitioning structure, intra/inter prediction, transform, quantization, and in-loop filtering, compared to its predecessor (H.265/HEVC). H.266/VVC yields significantly improved the coding performance, but it increased the computational complexity, particularly for the encoder side, which remains a problem to be tackled for successful commercialization in the future. This paper examined the statistical performance of H.266/VVC coding tools from the bitstreams encoded by the VVC test model (VTM12.0) encoder through rate-distortion optimization under the JVET common test conditions. In addition, the complexity and performance analyses are conducted on the block partitioning structure and group of picture structure. It is expected that an optimized H.266/VVC encoder can be designed and developed by minimizing the coding loss based on the analysis data. © 2023 Institute of Electronics and Information Engineers. The aims of this research are to (1) Design and build a Batik Industrial Waste Monitoring and Control System Based on the Internet of Things (BIWMCS -IoT);(2) Test the performance of the BIWMCS-IoT system. The design and implementation of the BIWMCS-IoT system consist of five stages, namely: (1) Needs analysis, (2) Design, consisting of electronic planning, hardware, and software;(3) Development, including hardware and software development;(4) Testing, and (5) implementation. The BIWMCS-IoT system consists of a sensor unit to measure the parameters of water turbidity, temperature, Power of Hydrogen (pH), and the flow velocity of the wastewater then obtained by the microcontroller and the results are sent to the Wi-Fi module to adjust the solenoid valve opening and closing. Based on the testing of the system, has been shown that the BIWMCS-IoT system can work well according to the standards in the Minister of Indonesian Environment Regulation Number 05 of 2014. The reading accuracy of the batik waste monitoring system reaches 96.6% with the delivery time to the smartphone less than 30 seconds. This shows that this system can work well to monitor and control the liquid waste produced by the batik industry. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Accurate short-term electricity price forecasting (STEPF) is critical for efficient energy market operations, guiding investment strategies, resource allocation, and consumer behavior. This study introduces a hybrid deep learning approach specifically designed to improve STEPF accuracy by leveraging historical Hourly Ontario Energy Price (HOEP) data from 2017 to 2019. The model integrates advanced techniques, including data preprocessing and denoising through a Stacked Denoising Autoencoder (SDAE), along with enhanced temporal modeling via Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (BiLSTM) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) networks. By capturing the complex dynamics inherent in electricity pricing data, the proposed hybrid model significantly enhances forecasting accuracy. Trained on data from 2017 and 2018, with 2019 used for testing, the model achieves a strong correlation coefficient (R = 99.86%) and substantially lowers forecasting errors. Comparative evaluations against established forecasting methods highlight the model's superior performance. This work demonstrates the practical value of deep learning techniques in the energy sector, particularly in responding to the volatility of demand and supply in real-time electricity markets. © 2025 IEEE.

Solar energy is environmentally friendly energy and is available in large quantities. The energy produced is commonly converted into electricity by using solar panel (PV) systems for utilization. PV systems are generally located in open areas such as hillsides, deserts, and water surfaces, so they become more sensitive against lightning strikes. Commonly, the PV is equipped with a lightning protection system (LPS). This paper discusses the grounding system at the solar power center (PLTS) Weh Island, Sabang City. Evaluation and comparison under certain conditions are carried out through measurements, calculations, and simulations. The grounding system is modeled for one rod, four rods in parallel, and plate rod. The measurement process during field observations and the induce voltage simulation are carried out to get the results of the analysis calculations. The result obtained shows that the grounding system fulfills the PUIL standard, namely being smaller than 5 Ω. When using plate electrodes, the resistance value is greater than that of rod electrodes. So that the lower conductor can be more resistant and easier to maintain. Improving the quality of the protection system, this research is used as a reference to evaluate LPS conditions in PV fields. © 2023 IEEE.
