The increasing growth of robots and other technological devices in homes makes it critical to understand child- device interactions within the home, especially given the real possibility of child aggression towards these devices. To explore factors that currently and will, in the future, shape child-robot interaction in the home related to children’s aggressive behavior, we conducted a 2 x 3 x 3 between-subjects crowdsourced study (N = 332) that examined how parents would respond and perceive their child interacting with different technological devices. Participants were shown a video clip of a person interacting with a technological device (robot, smart speaker, or tablet), exhibiting either aggressive or neutral behavior, and interacting with the device in one of three interaction modalities (audio, physical, or audio+physical). Imagining that the person in the video was their child, parents who observed aggressive behavior compared with neutral behavior indicated greater concern, a higher likelihood to intervene, distinct intervention methods, a higher perception of device mistreatment, and greater sympathy for the device. Despite hypothesizing that the robot would be seen as the most anthropomorphic, animate and, warm device, participant ratings of the robot were no different than the smart speaker, however, both devices were rated more highly on those dimensions than the tablet.

Web-based applications are prone to many web security attacks because they are openly-accessible and convenient. Most techniques used to prevent web attacks have some limitations; they cannot detect zero-day attacks and cannot analyze complex attacks, and should be maintained and updated regularly by security experts. Recently, there have been more research work on using deep learning for detecting web intrusions. Moreover, since most high risk web attacks are injected into HTTP web requests, detecting most web attacks needs classifying HTTP web requests into normal and anomalous. In this paper, we propose an approach based on Word2vec embedding and a stacked generalization ensemble model for LSTMs to detect malicious HTTP web requests. We evaluate our classification model performance using the HTTP CSIC 2010 dataset. We show that the combination of different word-level embeddings in a stacked generalization ensemble model for LSTMs has good performance both in terms of classification metrics and training time.

Even though machine learning methods are being used in practice for malware detection, there are still many hurdles to overcome. Nowadays, there are still some challenges remaining regarding machine learning for malware detection: having a false positive rate as low as possible, fast classification, low volatile and disk memory usage. Because of these constraints, security solutions often have to rely on simpler models rather than on more complex ones. This paper has the purpose of reducing the training phase false positive rate of SVM models in the context of malware detection by using reformulations of the SVM optimization problem. The results obtained show that the proposed linear SVM model can be a drop in replacement with better false positive rate than regular linear SVM models or the one side class perceptron [4].

This paper is concern about segmentation on pap smear images to use for classification cervical cancer. A cervical cancer screening by recognizing the cell shape pattern on the Pap-smear image can provide information about the presence of cervical cancer Pap-smear. The manual screening process for classifying cells is a challenging endeavor prone to the risk of error. There are several studies on the classification of cervical cell images which are sometimes not segmented first. Segmentation is very important to get the features contained in the image of cervical cells including the cell nucleus and cytoplasm. However, the segmentation results are also determined by the quality of images. This study proposed 2 paths that had a combination of image segmentation and classification. Before segmentation, image enhancement was carried out to improve image quality using Normalization, CLAHE and Adaptive Gamma Correction. The first path, the segmentation based on the CNN architecture. The second path is a classification process to test the segmentation results used by applying the KNN and ANN methods. The accuracy (ACC) result at the segmentation path was used to measure the match between the location of the segmented pixels and the results on ground truth, while the accuracy at the classification path was the success of the machine in classifying or predicting the segmentation results based on the class label for each group according normal and abnormal Pap-smear's label. The ACC result obtained in segmentation was only 0.77. However, the results of the segmentation when used in classification to classify which Pap-smears were normal and which are abnormal could provide excellent accuracy results, which were above 0.9. The results of the performance of Sensitivity (SN), Specificity (SP) and F1-score on the segmentation path also only gave results below 0.72, but the performance on the classification path that used the results on the segmentation path gave well results, wh

Due to the complex and dynamic nature of virtual machine allocation in the cloud, it is difficult to manage and control the resources or to choose the best allocation of these resources. In this paper, we propose an optimal model for allocating computing resources to assess the best management of system resources where a group of physical machines is defined as "reserves". The controller activates them one by one when the system has a high number of tasks. The objective is to maximize the reward of the cloud computing system. This reward is calculated based on the energy and execution time of each customer and the characteristics of the system. Finding the best allocation for such a complex system is a challenge. For this, we used a heuristic algorithm and dynamic programming approach. The results analysis showed the advantage of using our model to control the use of reserve machines to get high quality of service and low energy consumption. © 2021. All Rights Reserved.

The path we are currently following to improve the physics of construction due to the destruction of our environment through the negative impact of the built environment around us. Current efforts to decrease carbon and energy are noted by modifying and improving modern 'layered' envelopes and improving a misunderstanding of thermal comfort that has become much less effective than expected. Understanding construction physics is an important factor in improving the quality of life indoor and outdoor, relying primarily on theoretical and computational aspects, then applying the practical part to reduce excessive use of carbon and energy and hinder the elaboration of a sustainable and built environment. This paper shows how the problem stems from neglecting to think about the first principles and basic construction physics. Similarly, we show how combining good construction physics with reassessing old methodologies to construction and structure use provides some powerful and effective tools to address the climate emergency. The use of construction physics methods supports the search for new solutions to express the most important factors affecting thermal conduction and minimum surface temperatures. However, buildings have integrated concepts in which advanced systems work together to optimize energy, comfort, and health performance. Convergence between various engineering fields and the overlapping field of construction techniques and services has great potential in the future to achieve the next step in energy saving. As a result, the research highlights new methods that make our buildings interact with the external environment using climate data, responsive envelope design, simulation software, thereby achieving architectural response to surrounding variables, improving building physics to reduce environmental pollution, thermal comfort, and achieving the highest energy efficiency and performance in buildings. Natural language processing is the set of methods for making human language accessibility from computers. An approach that facilitates search in database even for casual non-technical literate users is to use a natural language interface (IEE) for databases. It is important for these IEEs to be intelligent and reliable enough to interpret the most complex sentences most intelligently and effectively enough to deliver results in the shortest possible time. The advantage of natural language interfaces is that they are accessible to a wide range of end users in order to 'speak' to the database. Introduction. The solution to the problem of natural-language understanding can be accomplished in two steps: linguistic and database processing. In the first stage of language processing, the natural language query is linked and translated to the corresponding SQL query by appropriate production rules, methods and functions. In the second processing stage, the database is accessed and manipulated and the SQL query is executed by the system. The study presents a research in the field of computational linguistics on a theoretical process model and a natural language processing system model. The process model itself represents knowledge and reflects the conceptual organization of human memory, as well as its flexibility and clarity.

Conceptual Frame Model For The Presentation Of The Concepts And Rules In Natural Language Interface For Database

The article presents a frame model for conceptual description of a subject area by presenting a detailed structure of multiple objects and concepts, knowledge about them, hierarchies of types, rules, specifying classes and relations between them. Include all possible words and word combinations that formalize a subject area. The model itself represents knowledge and reflects the conceptual basis of the organization of the memory of a person, as well as its flexibility and visibility. When creating an appropriate database of accumulating frame models (AFM), frame questions, and at a later stage a frame model for automatic question generation, it is necessary to build an appropriate structure that allows for both flexibility and easier building of the databases of data, as well as efficient retrieval of different types of information when summarizing the results. The publication is part of a study devoted to the application of frame models for the presentation of knowledge and processes in e-learning.
