The continuous devices shrinking has introduced new challenges to integrated circuit design, mainly to deal with the overall yield loss (Beckett 2002). Designers start to take into account process variability impact in the early design stages to successful deal with yield loss. Process variability have a critical effect on integrated circuits increasing power consumption to out of design specifications, accelerating circuit degradation or introducing erroneous circuit functionality. This work proposes two main contributions to improve yield: explore regular detailed routing reducing the number of vias and explore new approaches of basic cells in a regular layout synthesis.

This paper demonstrates a approach to design the field programmable CMOS operational transresistance amplifier. All the MOSFETs are replaced by the floating gate MOSFETs to make the OTRA design programmable. The charge at the floating gate can be programmed after fabrication, based on Hot-e-injection and Fowler-Nordheim tunneling techniques. This programming charge at floating gate results in threshold voltage variation in these MOSFETs, which in turn can modify circuit's specifications. The high frequency small signal analysis of the design is prepared and specifications of the design are rederived in terms of threshold voltages of the MOSFETs. The expressions of output voltage, transresistance, input impedance, output impedance and offsets are derived in terms of threshold voltages of respective MOSFETs. In order to achieve circuits AC and DC characteristics, the circuit is simulated using BSIM3 level49 MOSFET models in T-spice 0.35um CMOS process. The simulated results shows 13 bit programming precision in transresistance, input impedance, output impedance, Temperature stability and dc offsets with respect to threshold voltage of respective MOSFETs.

With the increasing grid penetration levels of wind power, there is an increasing need to study both the power control systems and the regulatory aspects associated with frequency control capabilities of wind power plants at various levels (turbine, wind farm and power system levels). This is especially very important in the United States with a goal of achieving 20% nation's electricity from wind energy by 2030. This paper provides observations and challenges identified with wind energy integration with respect to active power control strategies used in implementing frequency regulation at various levels. This paper also discusses the current and future aspects of market regulation of frequency responsive services offered by converter based variable generation technologies and the need for an appropriate utility market structure in order to provide settlements for these capabilities.

One of the challenges of deploying distributed systems, is the difficulty for nodes and services to find one another (commonly called bootstrapping). There has been extensive research on the topic, resulting in solutions based on broadcasting/multicasting, rendezvous servers and domain name based service discoveries among others. Still, currently deployed solutions generally are centralized or have some failure-sensitive points. This paper presents a completely decentralized solution based on the random address probing algorithm, with different extensions to both circumvent some of the shortcoming of the baseline algorithm as well as take advantage of the environmental specifics of cloud architectures. © 2012 IEEE.

Previous studies concerned with mobile financial services for the poor have been narrowly conceived, mainly depending on secondary data and focusing on technical design issues without having fully understood individuals' complex relationships and money practices. In order to contribute to this knowledge gap and inform mobile money system design, an exploratory case study investigated social relationships and social payment practices among rural individuals in Ethiopia. Key findings regarding their money exchange practices include: (1) secrecy and disclosure of money exchange practices (2) acceptance and or rejection of money gift for some reasons, (3) personalize money giving and accepting practices, and finally (4) separating and labeling of money based on its purpose and source. A qualitative exploratory research approach with key informant focus group discussions served as the primary means of information gathering. Copyright © 2012 ACM.

This paper introduces a goal-oriented framework which consists of generic and specific model repositories, and of methodology for integrated change management of business and IT evolutions. Is based on model compositions and traceability assessments of goal-oriented and scenario models. It contains a versioning-based cooperative work environment for business analysts to generate strategy decisions and simulations, themselves. The techniques and tools used are from the User Requirements Notation standard for requirements engineering and its supporting tools. Sets of models for visual documentation of BABOK 2.0 standard for business analysis, and of ISO/IEC 27001 and 27002 standards for information security, form the model repository to support developers and decision makers. These rise the generic aspect of the framework. An instantiation of framework for B2B change management with empirical validation within an SME, has been done. In a long way, this framework will be a base on a more complex system configuration control framework.

In the beginning of the 21 st century we experienced a paradigm shift between the acute and infectious diseases to the chronic conditions, sustained by the aging of the population. Nevertheless, the education system for health professionals kept the traditional educational models. The main idea of the work here presented is to provide a literature review of the state of the art of information and communication technology (ICT) applied to Long-term and Palliative Care. We conducted an exhaustive investigation from Pubmed and Google Scholar using the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) terms “information and communication technologies”, “e-Health”, “m-Health” and “long-term care”, “palliative care”. Currently, the existence of a critical mass of Internet users allows quickly diffusion of electronic communication in the medical practice, which translates as a new way to look at the doctor-patient relationship. It is important to define the various ways in which one can establish a doctor-patient communication, ensure the security and confidentiality of the information, create practical and “user friendly” interfaces that can be easily used by patients and ensure universal access to new technologies. Despite the existence of some literature on new information technologies applied to the health context, few papers trace the connection between these same information technologies and long-term and palliative care. We believe that the absence of literature on this theme relates to the emphasis of personal contact in such situations and the lack of quality records. More research is needed on this subject.

Abstract: In recent years, the rapid expansion ERP systems has been inclined HEIs. And its demand is continuously growing in HEIs for maintaining their culture, structure, people, and technical support as well as the relationship among each element. In This paper have done a case study of a prestigious Higher Education Institution (HEI) in NCR, India. In this paper we have identified all the possible attribute of educational ERP system which causes its failure. We also have shown how the value of these attributes can be added as a separate module (KM Module) to make the educational ERP more useful in HEI.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is widely adoptable technology by the organizations world-wide to grow their business. In the same manner the educational institutes and Universities are also implementing the ERP systems for their organizations to utilize their resources in the best way to achieve their goal and objective. In the history of the ERP systems, its implementation has higher failure rates than the implementation of any other application. Same rate of failures are also realized in the higher education institutes. ERP system was meant for manufacturing organization only but now it is adopted by all type of organizations, and higher education institutes are one of them. There are hundreds of educations ERP available in the market, but still there are higher failure rate and one can reduce this by integrating other technology like Knowledge management (KM) with it. In this article we are focusing a module of Enterprise Knowledge Management system through which knowledge of the faculty can be explored and their teaching can be improved which as a result can be helpful for the overall development of the students.
