Lung cancer is a horrible disease that may take human life. It is the most analyzed disease on the planet that may be considered as life-threatening disease. If it can be diagnosed earlier then treatment is a solution that may save human life. There are different imaging strategies through which this disease can be diagnosed and treated accordingly. However, a Computed Tomography image commonly known as a CT scan image is the better option for diagnosing disease with a better level of accuracy as compared to other imaging techniques such as X-ray, Ultrasound, and many more. If a disease can be diagnosed automatically then it saves medical professional time as well as human life. A routine checkup can become easier and it can be processed in less time. The intention of this paper is to review various previously implemented systems related to the automatic diagnosis of lung cancer. There are so many researches that have been done that are based on CNN, DNN, Edge Detection, and various image processing or machine learning techniques. Silicon-on-Chip (SoC) challenges are long-standing paradigm of exponentially increasing complexity of design process. Push towards smaller feature size has been a mandate requirement of consumer demand for more functionality, lower cost and shorter timing closures enabling SoCs with boosted transistor count. Due to this surge Design for Testability (DFT) completeness is lost with controllability and observability fault-spots, in-turn, affecting downstream Automatic Test Pattern Generation (ATPG) logic despite of embedded advanced structures and techniques resulting in Design Rule Violations (DRC), coverage loss, huge run time, test power and area overhead. At lower geometries, probability of new class of defects increases tossing SoC to re-spin and re-design iteratively. This has become a main issue for both designers and test engineers to identify scan testability features and issues early at register transfer language (RTL) rather than at testing phase of gate-level netlist. In this paper, correct-by-construction RTL approach is used with constraint driven vector-less methodology to bridge up design estimation gap on Testability-Coverage-Performance (TCP) at RTL stage using Spyglass-DFT (SGDC-DFT) tool. This realization is carried on 14 and 10 nm real chip-based design to show the correlation of test estimates of RTL to GLS tracking to 0.2% in worst case to 2.56% in best case during static test. In case of dynamic, correlation is 0.1% in worst case to 11.79% in best case. Also, static coverage reduced by 1.13% and dynamic to 2.48% in 10 nm compared to 14 nm SoC, respectively. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In today's competitive world, it is critical for an institute to forecast student performance, classify individuals based on their talents, and attempt to enhance their performance in future tests. Students should be advised well in advance to concentrate their efforts in a specific area in order to improve their academic achievement. This type of analysis assists an institute in lowering its failure rates. Based on their prior performance in comparable courses, this study predicts students' performance in a course. Data mining is a collection of techniques used to uncover hidden patterns in massive amounts of existing data. These patterns may be valuable for analysis and prediction. Education data mining refers to the collection of data mining applications in the field of education. These applications are concerned with the analysis of data from students and teachers. The analysis might be used for categorization or prediction. Machine learning such as Nave Bayes, ID3, C4.5, and SVM are investigated. UCI machinery student performance data set is used in experimental study. Algorithms are analysed on certain parameters like- accuracy, error rate. © 2021

The problem of eliminating the use of expensive and metal-intensive current transformers has been recognised by the worldwide CIGRE committee as a strategic challenge for the power industry. However, almost all conventional current protections receive information from current transformers. In this paper, resource-saving protections based on photocells, thermistors and photodiodes and without current transformers are proposed for consideration. These protections can be used as an alternative to traditional current protections for 10 kV electrical installations connected to a cell of a complete switchgear. The presented protections are made according to the developed new method. The results of the work can be used at large and small industrial enterprises, power plants and substations of stations, as well as interesting to the scientific community, as they help to solve the actual problem of electric power industry-resource saving of used materials, including in relay protection. The purpose of this work is to develop a method for constructing overcurrent protection for 10 kV electrical installations connected to switchgear cells and to create overcurrent protection devices that can serve as an alternative to traditional current protections with current transformers and current relays with metal cores, while saving the materials used.

Functionalizing chemotherapeutics-loaded liposomes with monoclonal antibodies can enhance their specificity and minimize side effects. Targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), overexpressed in HER2-positive breast cancer, is achievable by coating liposomes with an anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody. This study focused on synthesizing doxorubicin (DOX)-loaded immunoliposomes functionalized with anti-HER2 (HER-lip). The release of the drug from these immunoliposomes was triggered by high-frequency ultrasound (HFUS) and microbubbles, which acted as exogenous cavitation-enhancing agents. The platform was evaluated for size, lipid content, protein concentration, stability, and controlled release profiles. In vitro assessments were also performed, including the MTT assay for cell viability and flow cytometry to evaluate drug uptake. This innovative drug delivery system shows potential for combined therapeutic and diagnostic applications, improving personalized cancer care and treatment. © 2024 IEEE.

Population-based computational intelligence algorithms are natural candidates for parallelization and have been utilized to solve a variety of difficult and complex real-world problems. The gray wolf optimizer (GWO) is one of these algorithms. It is a metaheuristic that simulates the leadership hierarchy and hunting mechanism of gray wolves in the wild and has been used successfully to solve several hard optimization problems. However, the study of its applicability to the solution of nonlinear equation systems, which is arguably the most difficult class of numerical problems, is still quite incipient and needs to be better accessed and verified, particularly in the case of large-scale systems of nonlinear equations, which have not been considered until now and whose resolution difficulty increases with the number of equations they contain. This paper presents a new and efficient GPU-based massively parallel implementation of the gray wolf optimizer algorithm for solving large-scale optimization problems. The proposed parallelization of the GWO algorithm is illustrated by its application to solving large systems of nonlinear equations, a class of problems that appear and have great importance in different fields of pure and applied sciences and engineering. The GPU-accelerated version of GWO was implemented in Julia and tested on a GeForce RTX 3090 GPU with 24 GB GDDR6X VRAM and 10 496 CUDA cores using a set of hard, scalable systems of nonlinear equations with dimensions ranging from 500 to 2000. The obtained results, with average speedups between 69.91× and 241.54× , show the efficiency of the proposed GPU-based acceleration of the GWO algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

Continuous monitoring of cardiac function is highly desirable for long-term assessment of cardiovascular health, detection of acute cardiac dysfunction. Information from volume flow rate may be important in a variety of different clinical circumstances, such as stroke, arteriovenous malformation, cardiac failure. The main aim of the work was review of non-invasive measurements of carotid blood flow methods and devices. There are various types of methods and devices for monitoring blood flow in the carotid artery, however, so far no mobile recorder of the appropriate quality of registration has been developed. The most promising solutions are wireless wearable patches that, when applied to the skin of the neck, will not be a burden during measurements. This is important when measurements are to be made, during extreme activities, such as in pilots. As a result of the conducted research, there is a presumption that carotid blood flow measurements methods has great potential to be a useful tool in the diagnosis of the pilot's predisposition, at the same time performing a warning function, the so-called alerters, before the imminent overload loss of consciousness. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Controller design and verification by simulation is explored in this paper, for simple mobile robot tasks such as moving to a point, aligning with a line defined on the motion plane or driving to a predefined pose on the plane. The paper is set in the context of a study on vision-based control and is concerned with the step of using software to simulate the behaviour of a differential-drive mobile robot. Kinematic models are reviewed and presented, along with controller formulae for the enumerated tasks. Model implementations using Simulink are described and ran with predefined parameters, while the last part of the paper illustrates simulation results.

Managing aircraft landings in the Terminal Area (TMA) is a key challenge in Air Traffic Management (ATM) and has been gaining attention due to the consistent growth of air traffic congestion and delays. The Aircraft Landing Problem (ALP) deals with this issue by optimally scheduling the aircraft landings in the TMA so that the overall delay is minimized. Most modern models and solution methods addressing ALP allow aircraft re-positioning. However, majority of the airports still employ the First Come First Serve (FCFS) policy to manage landings. This study seeks to assess the optimality of the FCFS policy. Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) models are proposed to replicate FCFS, and the solutions are compared with the results from a state-of-the-art (SOA) model. Results suggest that FCFS results in 1.76 times more deviation from the target landing time than the SOA outcome on a single runway. While, in case of multiple runways, FCFS results are comparable with the SOA model outcomes. Findings also suggest that different holding times may result in different runway combinations. Implications of this study can help ATM decision-makers estimate the overall delay/deviation arising from FCFS and efficiently plan the available resource, workforce, and infrastructure augmentation decisions under FCFS policy.

CO2 from post-combustion flue gases can be captured using chemical solvents, the main one MEA30% aqueous, or in newer, greener solvents, namely deep eutectic solvents. In this study, the three solvent’s chemical degradation was tested: MEA 30%, ChCl:EG 1:2 and ChCl:MEA 1:8, after a corrosion test on a stainless-steel plate. As expected, the amine dissolved in water had corroded the metallic sample and the solvent suffered oxidation reactions, on the other hand the DES samples protected the plate, and their composition remained stable. The chemical and thermal stability is one of the main advantages of the DES, proven also in the present test. © 2023, Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.
